That is interesting because I was taking Prevacid and also noticed an increase in PAC's. Its still to early for me to tell if that was the culprit because my Palps have a mind of their own and can last as long as a week at times. For now though I have stopped the Prevacid to see if that helps. I also take fish oil which I've heard can help palps but I've also read that they can worsen them, who knows? Keep us posted!

You were tested just 10 months ago so the chances of you having cancer are so low. Will your Dr go ahead and do another scope just to be sure? I do think your pain is most likely caused from the Prevacid bit I'm not a Dr. I've just been through this myself with some of the PPI's like Prevacid. Have you thought about changing meds to see it that helps?
Protonix and Nexium did NOTHING for me, nor did Aciphex. Prevacid works OK, and my doc suggested Kapidex and I took it for a month. I did about as well on it as the Prevacid if not a tad better. I think Prevacid and/or Kapidex blow away Nexium; although what may be right for me will not be guaranteed for you. My doc gave me a 3 week free-sample of Kapidex, and you take it once a day. I'm always open to trying something new.
My problem is I started having heart burn for 3 months now, I HAVE TAKEN PREVACID, PRILOSAC AND NOW i AM ON NEXIUM.But they ar not helping me at all. I saw my oncho yesterday and she said ther is nothing they can do, and to avoid spicy food. But I havevn't been eating any spicy or hard food for several months now, what shall I do? Please help me.
My daughter also takes pentasa and WAS taking prevacid. The prevacid didn't seem to help her and our GI switched her to prilosec. My daughter has had no complaints with the prilosec. Both prevacid and prilosec have the same actions so they do the same things. The only interaction that I know of with prevacid and penicillin is with a type of penicillin called Ampicillin and it may inhibit the absorption of the prevacid.
I have started taking prevacid and it has helped a little, but iam now worried that I have let this go for too long and have maybe developed stomach cancer. I smoke 1-2 cigarettes a day and will be quitting this week. I know that leaving ulcers and gastritis untreated can turn into stomach cancer. I have an EGD scheduled for Tuesday and I am terrified of what I will find. My anxiety seems to have made everything so much worse. Can hardly sleep or even work. Any ideas?
Has anyone had to try more then 1 type of medicine to relieve their stomach pain from too much acid, gerd or whatever reason they are on the meds. I tried prevacid for 5 weeks and it didn't help at all. I am now trying prilosec and have been on it for a week now, It does seem to have helped somewhat but I still do have problems. I know some of my problems could be from not eating a lot. I don't know what to eat so sometimes I will skip eating which probably isn't good for my stomach.
I have been taking prevacid for a week and now the pain is almost totally out of my chest and shoulder blade BUT now has moved to my middle back and also primarily located under the left side ribs (location of the stomach).
It varies anything from a tight "crampy" (light) feeling to mild pain that shoots through to my back.

46 is early for colorectal cancer, nausea is not a typical symptom. If pain was from cancer, you'd probably bleed from the intestine. Maybe it's good if you have a hemmocult test for hidden blood in the stool.
Yes, ive has ultrasound, ct and mri. The pain is in my upper right under breast and upper left under breast. It has also moved to my epigastric area. Sharp and burning. Worse at night. Have EGD scheduled for tomorrow. Scared out of my mind. Worried about cancer from leaving it untreated. Didn't want to take meds. Now I am on prevacid.
t have cancer! Bt the acid will destroy the lining of your throat and swallowing ill get to yhe point, that they eill have to do an Esophagoscopy. sounds worse than it is! They put t camera down your throat, find the restriction and balloon the closure open.( Balloon Dilinsd Esophagal). It is an outpatient surgery. The cost here in SC is about $2300.00 for Hospital and the Dr. is around $700.00. I have had 6 surgeries so far. most PPl are a size 24, I'm a 12 at the largest.
