If you just take regular prenatal vitamins, your hair and nail will grow super fast. Because the prenatal vitamins have vitamin d & foliage acid which helps with hair and nail growth.

I think it depends on your hair type and condition before taking them. I already had pretty healthy hair that grows really fast, so maybe I don't notice it as much.

Hey ladies, I have a question for you. Have you all experienced the wonderful healthy longer hair and nails? Well I haven't I have actually been shedding hair and my nails break all the time. What did you guys do to get things to grow? This was one of the parts I was looking forward to during pregnancy. I thought maybe it would show up later but I'm going on 6months and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

My friend swears that hers allows her to have energy, and her hair and nails grow quicker and healthy.

I love and hate these prenatal vitamins, they work great but taste horrible. And make me sick.

Depending on how far along you are in your pregnancy will you notice a difference. The prenatal vitamins they say help with hair growth, however I believe its more hormonal changes within you. When you notice your hair growing you will also notice your nails growing faster than usual. I have been taking prenatal vitamins for only 3-4 wks... I would say its more hormonal changes than the vitamins, for myself atleast.

My hair and nails have grown but my hair has ots moments when it randomly falls out :/

Prenatal vitamins are very good for u and the baby, it provides protein and other nutrients that the baby needs to have and keeps you and especially the baby strong.

Well the one I take is Nature Valley I believe name is,but since I been taking it my hair, nails etc have grown. Had to switch because the ones my Dr prescribed me cost almost $200 and only last every 30 days for 12 months.

I don't think so because I never took them with my daughter who is now 5 years old and healthy as can be and I don't take them now and there is nothing wrong with this baby and I'm now 37+5 with no complications with either baby.

but would avoid hair dyes, and also bleech. I used to use Jolen bleech to light my hair on skin. but wen we start in ttc, i avoid that. are you taking any prenatal vitamins?? if no, its the best time to start taking.. any prenatal with folic acid is good .. This is another thing that differs for everyone. Some women (like myself)- hair and nails grow stronger and longer and for others its the complete opposite.

I take Trader Joe's prenatals- they are the same thing as Rainbow brand (Rainbow sells them to TJ's and TJ"s puts their name on it) They are great. I used to take CVS brand and I have noticed a HUGE difference since starting the TJ's prenatals. My hair is nicer and more shiny, and my nails are super strong, and I also feel like I have more energy.

Everything you need is in the prenatal vitamin. It also helps with your nails. Trust me your hair will grow quicker than normal during pregnancy. And as long as you take your vitamins you'll see a difference. But don't freak out if it's not growing as fast as you'd like.

so i actually saw my doctor doctor today. i told her i was taking iron pills, folic acid, and prenatal vitamins. she told me i don't need to take the folic acid. i was like ummm ok because my mid wife told me i should take the folic acid because prenatal vitamins have a little bit. who do i listen to?

I was very anxious for my hair to grow as well but even with eating healthier and taking my prenatal pills daily my hair has not grown at all. I feel my hair actually got so dry :/ but everyone can be different.

You don't have to take the prenatal pills they just give your baby extra vitamins and nutrients when you aren't eating well and it won't harm the baby if you don't take them. But if you aren't eating well like veggies and fruits your baby can have complications not to scare you or nothing by this post just take care of you both the right way and if you have the pills just take them your baby will be happy and healthy!!
