premarin yeast infection

If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.

Well I can say from my experience I can't use Premarin because it causes yeast infections for me. I think you can take the pill Diflucan do get rid of the yeast infection but don't be surprised that it is persistent and wont go away. I would call the pharmacy to make sure as I am not a doctor but I know I would use both but I also would ask.

According to their website, the most common side effects include headache, infection, abdominal pain, back pain, accidental injury, and vaginitis (yeast infection). So my guess is... there's your culprit...if this all started at the same time you started the Premarin and nothing else would fit. I would call your doctor and see if there is another med your could get on. I'm not sure if it would help you or not..but I'm on Vivelle-Dot.

that sort of makes sense thanks grace. i tested myself for a yeast infection and it didnt come up positive the doctor didn't test me for anything else, i'm thinking of going back (possibly to a different doctor so i could get a 2nd opinion) the premarin cream was for the irritation but it didn't help much i am getting a copy of my test results and will pick them up monday and then post them on here thanks again!

The Medroxy is a progesterone based drug, yes. I just can't take the pain in my boobs when it comes!! It kills!! Prevents me from doing soo much cuz the pain is soo bad!! I haven't noticed any yeast infections while on Premarin. My period finally came and normally it is heavy and very painful. But it is just light bleeding like spotting. And barely any pain from it this month! Thank God for that!

I know now that antibiotics do that to me, so when I have to take them, I also get an Rx for Diflucan, an oral medication for the yeast infection (creams are just yucky, and even after repeated uses, wouldn't clear it up for me). My OBGYN is treating it like a yeast infection but added premarin every 3 days, as an internal cream. Just as my PCP did for the last 7 months. My rt areola has been itching for 3 years - since apprx my last pregnancy. I had a mammo and they said everything was normal, but for something such as Paget's, had to go back to my regular dr. I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. This week I had a UTI, and they put me on Nitrofur, and I was put on Premarin and a new brand of synthroid. I have had muscle aches, twitching and numbness and tingling in the legs, and sometimes arms and then two days ago, the weirdest foggiest feeling in my head. Flu like symptoms, and lack of sleep. And I have been kind of anxious and depressed. And I am not normally that way. I stopped the Premarin on Wed, and the Nitrofur on Thursday. Am wondering now about the synthroid.
