Common Questions and Answers about Premarin use in children

premarin

Avatar n tn I have been told it could be due to the anesthesia that I was given for several surgeries or the lack of Estrogen. Could I safely resume taking Premarin in the hopes that it would create some new hair growth? Thanks so much... Avatar f tn nt count for much because I am not a Dr. There is no way I would take Premarin. There have been too many women in my life who have taken it and had problems. You do not have to take this med. There are many others out there to choose from if you and your Dr decide you need one.

1194973 tn?1385503904 This medication can cause birth defects. Do not use Premarin if you are pregnant. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant during treatment. Use an effective form of birth control while you are using this medication. Premarin can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. This medication may also slow breast milk production. Do not use if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Avatar f tn I was told not to take any herbal agents, soy etc. The physician did say that premarin vaginal cream 3 x per week would be okay. I am concerned. I have been told allot of different things. Do I risk taking the cream? Is it absorbed just locally? What is your suggestion.
1367840 tn?1278194075 I had a total hysterectomy 20 years ago in my early 30's. I have been on Premarin since....625mg. At 52, do I need to continue the pills? I figure I'm at or close to being menopausal. Thanks!
Avatar f tn com/patient_services/bio_identical_hormone_therapy/ Also dairy can cause migraines and there is at least lactose and more than likely lactose monohydrate (think lactose on steroids) in your premarin.
Avatar f tn my dr put me on premarin for hrt...it helped me alot and i had pmdd before my hysterectomy...mine was june 2011 for removal of cervical cancer i've been on premarin ever since, it does work ask your dr what he thinks.
Avatar f tn I was instructed to stop taking my Premarin (lowest dose), for 6 months at a time for fear of Heart related issues. I have done it before, but experience dryness. I had my hysterectomy in 03 (I'm 46), and haven't had intercourse now for almost two years (for several reasons). For whom this concerns; I've been suggested to try premarin creams, but how often do I use it and do they work?
Avatar f tn I am in the same boat, turning 59 this January. My total hysterectomy was in the mid 1980s. I have cut down to four tablets about five years ago and for the past two years take three (M, W, F). Still unsure of way to go, but interested in knowing more.
778044 tn?1299542934 Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar f tn Really did not know what to put down as a "topic". We ( husbad & I ) have been happily married since 1978. WE always has a GREAT sex life. Back in 2005, I had a horrible car accident & was left for dead by the Other person. Woke up 4 days later & thought it was 1979 ( th elast time I was in the hospital when I gave birth to my son ) Both my husband & best g/f were with me. Never the less, we haven't had intercourse since I was 50. I am 56 now & dearly miss it.
Avatar f tn So, she said that doing LEEP or crytology is not an option. She gave me Premarin Cream to use 3 times weekly and wants me to come back in June for a repeat paap smear. Any ideas on alternate treatment?
Avatar f tn Hello - I am 59 and have atrophic vaginitis. There is an area in the (introitus?) that has almost no skin covering due to the thinning tissue. It burns terribly all the time. I have had numerous vaginal infections over the past few months including gardnerella, a yeast inf., & 2 cultures showed large amounts of enterococcus faecalis & klebsiella.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.

Avatar f tn I have been on estrogen replacement since my surgery in 1998. I still have moderate-severe hot flashes and they seem to be getting more intense with age. I switched from oral Premarin which covered me pretty well but I didn't want to be taking pills the rest of my life. Since then I have tried a variety of patches that are really not very effective on a regular basis and very expensive. At my age, what do you recommend. Is Premarin dangerous (risk of DVT).
Avatar f tn I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn I had a complete hysterectomy in January,2009. I was suppose to go for exporitory surgery for the mass that was found on my right ovary but they found it to be cancer and opted, with my consent, to do a total hysterectomy. My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn Then they noticed that cases of endometrial cancer among Premarin users were going through the roof - the Premarin was causing endometrial hyperplasia, which was placing these women at high risk of endometrial cancer. It was then that they developed Prempro, which adds progestins to the mix, and supposedly reduces these risks.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn hello doctor,i'm 36 years old.i had full hysterectomy in october 2009 for ovarian cyst. then my doctor gave me premarin 0.06 1 tablet per day.this medicine is very good.i feel very well to take this.but there is a problem .in 2009 i was 45 kg and now i am 65 kg.please help me and give me a suggestion what will i do and how will i reduce my overweight.
Avatar n tn Please read up on bio-identical hormones, most all consider them to be superior to premarin( which is made from horses urine) I and many other regular members use a product called Vivelle, available in many forms , but I like the patch, just slap one on two time per week, below the belly buttom on abdomen. Bio-identical is much more chemically closer to a womans natural estrogen.
