Women whose ovaries were removed or failed from loss of blood flow after hysterectomy have an increased risk for a number of health problems due to estrogen deficiency (and possibly testosterone deficiency too). These include heart disease,
osteoporosis, dementia, Parkinsonism, cognitive and memory impairment, mood disorders (mood swings, depression), anxiety, poor sleep quality, visual changes, skin changes, muscle wasting, hot flushes, vaginal atrophy.
