Premarin and weight loss

Common Questions and Answers about Premarin and weight loss

premarin

i am taking premarin tabs 0.
I'm now having my first recurrence and threw my premarin away as far as I could! I am concerned about bone loss but it's hard to be worried about something I can't see - I haven't made it my first priority, to be honest, and I know I should. I guess between the chemo and scans, worrying about what my bones are doing seems a little insignificant! I hope you find something to help you and I agree with Mary - research!!! Read everything you can about HRT - good luck.
on the average of 4 to 5 days a week, at least an hour a day. I was also watching VERY closely what I was eating, and no weight loss at all. I also felt very strange, just not myself, tired ALL the time. My doctor has recent switched me over to Premarin 0.625mg to see if I do any better on this......Can you tell me if the patch would cause any type of side effect like I discribed above. And does Premarin, have any such types of side effects.
My progesterone was increased and switched from cream to an oral form which I had to put under my tongue. Progesterone is a natural diuretic and in theory should not cause weight gain and in fact can promote weight loss when necessary (estrogen is cited as a weight "maintainer"). But, I started to balloon. Talk about distress. My "middle" grew about six inches and my poor little 36 barely A's were crying for a larger bra. Of course I started to research like mad.
I started to notice weight gain in my waistline so i joined weight watchers.I was a member of weight watchers before and was able to loose weight in the first weeks I would loose up to 10 pounds. This time I lost about 3 then the next week i would gain 5.I got frustrated and quit. Now I have gained 11 lbs. and i don't even have the energy to walk on my treadmill for 10 minutes and have no desire to do anything .Why is there no special diet to follow or help for women going through this?
Id like to suggest the HCG weight loss program. I have been on this program twice and have kept the weight off. Besides losing weight, the program also teaches you to change eating habits and your lifestyle. A lot of people get the product off the internet , and that isnt safe. I would like to suggest Body Solutions RX, a reputable clinic located in Colorado Springs , CO. They serve clients in the US 50 states regardless of distance. Body Solutions RX offers more than just weight loss solutions.
I am now 30-35 lbs higher than I should be. I barely eat much most of the time and any exercise hardly makes a dent in my weight loss. It's very frustrating. My doctor recommends melatonin as an alternative but the whole reason for being on Klonopin was to manage my social anxiety disorder. I have also been placed on 10mg of Lexapro for depression? I'm certain that with the combination of both meds has increasingly made the matters worse. I see no solution to ever losing weight.
Around the time of the start of her weight loss she started taking medicine to halt glaucoma which she has to continue. She also has been on high blood pressure medicine for several years. She also has arthritis. Here is a list of all the medicine she is taking now: CARDIZEM 300 mg 1 daily HYDROCHOROTHIADE 12.5 mg 2 daily ACEBUTOLOL (SECTRAL) 200 mg 1 daily KTAB 10 meg 1 daily PREMARIN 0.
i also am thinking of getting off welbutrin. i know that it is every other day to get off the med but how long to you go every other an also when do you start every 3rd day. how long does it actually take to eventually dose down to nothing.
Regards, FJK ________________ Dear FJK, Your letter is lacking many of the details necessary to provide a list of possible explanations for the weight loss, abdominal pain and malaise. In general terms, one must exclude tumors (including those of the pancreas), malabosprtion and mesenteric ischemia. If your mother has had a CT scan, barium x-rays of the GI tract and small intestine biopsy many of the possible causes would be excluded.
There are a few common misconceptions about weight gain and aging that I’d like to address. First, hormone supplements don’t cause weight gain - menopause, in general, with or without hormones, is associated with about a 10 pound gain. This often starts in perimenopause so it could occur as early as the 40’s. Second, lean muscle mass decreases slowly from mid-30’s probably until menopause when it decreases more steeply.
6 months later, with no treatment, they repeated the mental function testing and the MRI and compared results, including any loss of brain volume. Then they had the men apply a testosterone gel to their upper arm once daily for a year. At the end of the year they again repeated the entire testing. After a year of testosterone treatment, the men's average blood testosterone level was on the high end of the normal range.
The top 10 are headache, dizziness, change in mood quality, vomiting and nusea, abdominal pain and cramps, change in vision, diarrhea, seizurea nd convulsions, memory loss, fatigue, weakness. For a library of info, go to www.dorway.com and http;//aspartamekills.com.
Other times I am hyper and I can't stop eating yet I don't put on weight and lose it easily, my muscles ache, I can't sit down to a meal or watch TV without getting up and I have very little sleep etc. I'm go,go,go and I'm full of ideas, enthusiasm and motivation. So contrasting - like two different people and yet my T3, T4 and TSH levels appear to be the same regardless of what mode I am in.
Mine started when I was preggo and I had weight loss and xtra beats and fast heart rate. Went away after pregnancy, but unfortunately came back.... I was under the care of a Cardio Dr and Enod. Good luck.
It's not funny but I'm so tired and just can't get pregnant due to work rules (military deployment) so I need some relief and some weight loss!!!!
well there has to be something but when you get like a lotta air or whatever around there air can just sometimes go in there (that spot lol) but thats when that starts making a gas-like sound but you haven;'t went to the doctor since then?
Prempro (Premarin and Progesterone)...And, you are right..you would not need that because first of all, you are not on Premarin and you don't have a uterus (or you would be on Prempro...since some women do take Premarin, estrogen only, after hysterectomy). Like you, I would not take Premarin anyway...but, I have been asked by doctors why I take progesterone since I don't have a uterus. This is where all the confusion starts ...and, continues.
I actually tried the baby whites too, but I've found it too painful so I am limited too warm water and mild soap. My gynecologist is at a loss but I'm going to see a specialist in January. If I find out anything I will post back and if you would do the same I'd really like that! I've been really embarassed about the white residue, it makes me feel unclean or something, but hearing that someone else has it is really comforting (although I wish neither of us had to post here!
And my doctor is at a loss and dosent know what to do. I can tell you this I dont have cats and live a crazy life so I dont think its any of that. So cat lovers your safe. Keep the litter box clean and hug your kittys.
The NP just repeated what she was told or heard somewhere about loss of bone. A low TSH cannot cause bone loss. If she is concerned that the low TSH means you have become hyper, that is incorrect. There are scientific studies showing that a majority of hypo patients have suppressed TSH when taking adequate doses of thyroid meds. So, if the low TSH is supposed to mean tht your thyroid levels are too high, then how come your Free T3 and Free T4 are at the very low end of the ranges.
As a hashimotos survivor, or should I say one who has been poorly managed by the medical community and suffered needlessly for many years, I often see similarities between fibro?CFS and thyroid disfuction.
Over a year ago, I posted a blog arguing against the use of Human Growth Hormone as a weight loss supplement. But little did I know that when many people read “HGH,” they instead think “HCG.” Who knew? But as a result of this visual similarity, I’ve found that a good number of the posted comments were written in defense of this “miracle” diet, which combines supplementation with a hormone first detected in the urine of pregnant women (yep) and...a daily 500 calorie restriction.
It seems that no matter where in the world we are, us girls will always get the short end of the stick! My thyroid is underactive and I am allergic to iodine. I have been on HRT (Premarin) for about 5-6 years now, as well as Eltroxin for the thyroid.
Of course, the study with the combination of Premarin and progesterone was halted after researchers found a higher risk of heart disease. But the other studies on other estrogen were not halted because there wasn't that finding. So it could be something to consider. Just know that many doctors are skiddish about prescribing it. I wear the estrogen patch because it bypasses the liver and is safer. I was a mess before I went on to estrogen. It has been worth everything for me.
I have experienced weight gain, mood swings, leg cramps, fatigue and loss of interest in life. I have been taking Premarin a low dose. I just stopped taking it since I don't think it's helping anyways. Any suggestions on hormones or no hormones? Or alternatives?
No I am experiencing pain in my right abdomin and have vomited bile in the mornings. My appitite is gone. I weight 110 lbs. and I am 5' 5" tall. I am taking the following meds (my question is do these pose a severe health risk?) Zoloft 100 mg; Lithobid 900 mg; Trazadone 100 mg; Depakote 500 mg Perphenazine 2 mg; Premarin .625 mg; Xanax .5 - 1 mg(as needed); and, Levoxy 100 mcg I've had enough medical problems, I don't need anymore!
I am on day 14, no ovulation yet but I'm hoping with the weight loss and the help of the clomid and glucophage we will finally concieve this time or at least I will start ovulating. We're keeping our fingers crossed! Good luck to all!
The only medication I was taking was phentermine, for weight loss. Could I be pregnant? Should I get a test, and if so, when?
lower estrogen status, change in supplements/diet/weight loss, use of generic levothyroxine (for thyroid cancer patients, it is usually best to stay w/ brand). Decreasing the synthroid dose seems appropriate based on this post. Would look at T4 and T3 levels as well, but this is unlikely a pituitary tumor (very rare).
