premarin

Experiencing fatigue, which I contribute to the radiation, but I'm also experiencing the CHILLS, Some hotflashes which I expected since being taken off the Premarin, and semi controlled with .5mg Paxil. mild headaches almost daily, and being I'm a one meal a day person I'm watching my weight. Because of the chills, headaches, and the couple .lbs I've gained could my Synthroid need adjusting.?
After my surgery my Gyn put me on the Ortho and I could not stop bleeding I went back and talked with her and she switched me to LoEstrin and since being on this I have not had really a period just some minor spotting. She said that it was a better choice for Low Thyroid because it is a monophasic bcp and that Orth Tri Cyclin is a TriPhasic BCp. I would talk with your Dr. Hope this helps.
Recently diagnosised with breast cancer. 100% estrogen feed. Have stopped taking Premarin. Lumpectomy preformed, and now undergoing radiation. I've completed 15 of the 33 treatments. Experiencing fatigue, which I've contributed to the radiation. BUT recently I get cold, plus the some hot flashes which are being semi controled with .5mg Paxil, getting mild headaches, and so far working hard at maintaining my weight. Appetite hasn't changed. Bad habit of eating one main meal a day.

They ran every test under the sun, no heart attack, no issues with the gallbladder surgery. They did find my thyroid to be high and lowered my dose for my synthroid. Can what I am feeling now be from stopping the premarin? I just don't know what else it could be. I'm really on the edge as I don't feel I can take much more. I'm tired of feeling so terrible all the time...Wondering if I go back on HRT if I will feel better. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, any suggestions?
My hot flashes were up to 13 per day, prior to the premarin. This dosage of premarin seems to be the least I can take, and ward off the hot flashes, and night sweats. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Second opinion confirmed that I had a prolapsed uterous but therapy was a possibility. She put me on Premarin topical cream and sent me to Physical THerapy letting me know there is a 60% chance of strenthening my pelvic floor. The therapy was great and then started having irregular periods and then anytime I had intercource or bear down I would bleed. Then it never stopped. I have been bleeding for 3 months now. My ob/gyn sent me for an ultrasound.
One method of treatment, that seems to fail consistantly, is to shut the thyroid down with Methimazole or Tapazol, and use replacement hormones like Synthroid or Armour to treat the drug induced Hypothyroid state. It can be very hard to diagnose. I was first diagnosed with a "slow thyroid" and put on Synthroid even though my chief complaints at the time all pointed toward Hyperthyroidism. My bloodwork said Hypo, so that's what I was treated for.
I am on Synthroid and Cytomel. I gained 25 pounds in the three months after my surgery (Ovaries and everything removed when I was 47 back in Sept. 2000). I was devastated, to be honest. Of course I was glad that no more cancer was found other than what was in the cyst that was drained a month before the hysterectomy. But, I was very heavy growing up and carried a lot of Psychological baggage from those days. I lost a ton of weight in college and kept it off for years and years.....
They also can do bio -dentical hormones just don't go on premarin it causes cancer and weight gain. But then so does too much estrogen. You really need sleep it is so very important for everything so try this but be patient it takes time.
I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.
thyroid removed 35 years ago and taking synthroid. 01 recent blood tes rev tsh .31 and t4 1.2 which dr says is in the middle. asking 3 gyno indrocinologist and 2 say leave alone and 1 says drop to .88 synthroid, Concentration has been awful with heat from back of neck. If I use estrogen in small amount like premarin cream the concentration returns. What do you think about dropping synthroid. I exercise a lot walk 3 miles in morning and swim about 16 laps a day or 3 days a week.
The reason I have requested this is my Dad has hypothyroidism and so did his grandmother. He is treated with synthroid and feels good. (He lives in FL and I live in IL or I would have started with his PCP) His was noticeable through TSH. The neuro and my PCP discount thyroid because of my normal TSH but at least the neuro is willing to indulge me that maybe the endo can look more in depth at this possibility.
I left the office and came back in 1 hour. She took out the tampon and there was no blue dye. So she said no fistula between the colon and vagina. So I went home and went to the bathroom. Well there was blue dye in my urine. So I went back into the office where they drew some urine with a catherer. There was blue tint to it. So she said that it was between my colon and bladder. So I went to the Cleveland Clinic and was checked and they could not find anything. They even did a coloscopy.
T1, T2, T3, T4 and calcatonin. When I was on 125 synthroid I had NO energy, and could have slept ALL day, as well as terrible brain fog, and hives, and weak muscles, and couldn't handle loud noises. My doctors were TOTALLY clued out, no matter how much research I presented them with -- they wanted to give me anti depressents for my insomnia and exhaustion, anti inflammatories for my periods, Benedryl for the hives, cortisone cream for the dry skin...
I don't want to quote anything I've read, but after putting in "Premarin and Hypothyroidism" and "Progesterone and Hypothyroidism", the articles I've read indicate that Premarin prevents the thyroid from working properly, and Progesterone cream is beneficial. I just wanted to mention this because it may be of help. I am going to look into it further myself.
I have a stint in because the lupus caused me to have blockage to my heart. I take prednisone, synthroid, Raneka, topamax, synthroid, premarin, metoprolol, premarin, lexapro, plavix, baby aspirin. I would love to be able to get Lazik eye surgury. Am I a candidate for this procedure? If so do you know any good surgueons in the ATL area?
125 mcg of synthroid. TSH levels were OK until July of this year. My PCP ordered a TSH level and it came back unmeasurable. Had it reapeated thinking it may have been a lab error. Repeat level was also unmeasurable. Endocrinologist called me to reduce my synthroid to112. Had repeate TSH and thyroglobulin level done 10/25/10 as well as an ultrasound. TSH was still unmeasurable. Ultrasound OK. For two years after my thyroidectomy, my TSH was OK, ( for thyroidectomy pt). What does this mean?
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
My blood pressure is 135/80 and I take hydroclorathyzide to keep the BP in order. I also take Synthroid after having my thyroid removed. I have been taking Premarin since 1999 after having a hysterectomy. I am 55 years young and weigh 160 pound 5' 7" tall.
and have been experiencing new hair growth on my legs and arms and face. I am very tired and sometimes weak/shaky. My skin has suddenly become very dry. Old age could be the cause, although (post-hysterectomy) I have also been on premarin 0.265 mg for years without problems. I am not sensitive to cold, I am not constipated, I occasionally have an (unrelated?) mildly rapid or irregular heartbeat. I do know that being older changes the effects of many medications in unexpected ways.
I am now 43, overweight, but have always had very trim legs and ankles. I have hashimotos thyroiditis and take synthroid, had a complete hysterectomy 10 years ago and take premarin and estrace. I have had my blood pressure medication changed countless times because it keeps going up. I recently was on 20 mg. vasotec twice a day, 20 mg. catapress, 360 mg. Covera HS, and 20 mg. diazide. My legs started becoming very bloated and my bp was 165/110.
You sound a bit like me, I had hyster a year ago and bso, 6 weeks ago, am on hrt patch and take paxil, I also have thyroid problems and take synthroid. it would seem to me that either your hrt is having new side effects or something else is off with your hormones, Combined with an increase in anxiety and depression I would say you definatley need some blood work, are you up to date on your mamograms??
She also tested my Thyroid and when the blood work came back she said that I have an under-active thyroid and put me on Synthroid. She said that it would take several months, but that my hair would be fine. I am just wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this? Will my hair get back to normal? I haven't noticed any big clumps falling out or anything like that, it's just a gradual thinning. Thanks for any help you can share wtih me.
I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2006 for thyroid nodule which turned out to be benign. I am currently on 50 mcg of Synthroid daily. I also had a total hysterectomy in December of 2007. I am on Premarin 1.25 mg for that, daily. I am always extremely hot around other people in the same room (even women my age who are post-menopausal). I went down to 25 mcg and that seemed to help a lot. Six months ago, my TSH was borderline high, and my PCP said this was okay.

My medications are Fentyl pain patch for pain, Darvocet and naproxen for break-through pain, Elavil, Effexor, and Celexa for SSRIs, Zocor for cholesterol control, Premarin (estrogen since I had a total hysterectomy), lisinopril for blood pressure, and synthroid for thyroid difficiency . I used to take Neuronton but the doctor took me off that and I haven't noticed a difference.
