Premarin and spotting

Common Questions and Answers about Premarin and spotting

premarin

So yesterday my doctor prescribed me Premarin for 21 days and Provera for 7 days after my last Premarin pill. I had spotting the first day of Premarin and that's all. I had cramping the day before I took the Premarin and continued until I fell asleep. I don't know what the spotting means. Anyone have a similar experience?
During times of physical exertion or personal stress, the spotting flow is heavier and fills a mini-pad. I wear a regular tampon just about every day. My Gyno. wants to do another D & C, to be sure I'm cancer-free (I was after the prior D & C she did) before she considers any other causes & treatments. What should I do? She told me she could do a yearly D & C on me, but I don't want to have regular D & Cs for my spotting problem. Is it hormone related?
Anyone who has been on Lupron, Premarin and Medroxy ever experience sore breasts and increase in breast size? My boobs have gotten bigger and are like constantly sore!!! Hurts to take off my bra!! Please help!!!

I have been using Yaz for a little over 1 year now and until now everything was great. I took it initially for acne control and birth control. A little spotting here and there but no big deal. Just this month I have started to get very anxious and moody. I really thought I was going crazy.

I have a pain in my side form the diverticulitis and then I'll have vaginal spotting (I've had a hysterectomy so I know it's not coming from there) and I'll feel gas in my colon but it comes out both places..really weird. I'm afraid I'll have to go back to the Dr but I really don't want to have surgery..I wonder if fistulas close up by themselves??
Sometimes they look inside the uterus with a thin telescope called a hysteroscope. Sometimes they do an ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries. They usually do an exam and draw hormone blood tests. After this is done and they have some results, the problem is often treated with estrogen and progesterone or progesterone alone. Often in perimenopause there is plenty of estrogen in the body already but not enough progesterone to stop the bleeding. Sometimes a D&C is done in the operating room.
Also, I had bled a couple of times (just lightly like spotting) during the past two years. I attributed it to menopause, and dryness since I had not had hormones. Sexual intercourse became painful. Well, I had a pap-smear done and it came back abnormal. I made an appontment with a gynecological onocologist who did a colposcopy. The results came back with HPV. It is covering my entire vaginal. So, she said that doing LEEP or crytology is not an option.
I've seen 2 doctors and 1 specialist, none have really told me anything and all tests always come back negative (I was tested for herpes as well.) Even the yeast cultures come back negative. I've been going to acupuncture for the last 2 months and the symptoms are decreasing, but at a very slow rate. I have taken Monistat, flagyl, cortizone (steroid) pills and cream and nothing has worked.
For the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
my doctor prescribed me clomifene ,premarin and duphaston .i was supposed to take the medicenes accordingly... clomifene 50mg from 2nd-6th day of my cycle 1nce premarin 0.625mg from 8th -12th day 2times a day duphaston from 19th day for 10 days. my treatment was for 3 months that is from sep to nov and my periods seemed to be regular .
I'm 63 and have recently been spotting and passing blood clots. I have no other health issues and only take a low-dosage aspirin and Premarin for hot flashes.
Then also have been given Provera to bring on a period. I have 4 days left and started spotting grayish black nasty stuff in the past 3 days. Mild not heavy. So any day now I should be getting the major flow. GP said in Nov.12 needed to be tested for menopause due to hot flashes and thyroid med lowering not working. She did the wrong test and said I wasn't going thru it yet. They sent me to a endo...dr. fallon. He said its not thyroid it is menopause...had me make apt with ob/gyn.
We went to a doctor and after the diagnosis she suggested that her uterus size is too small to have a baby. So she told me to have a Premarin 0.625MG and deviry 10MG. Premarin should take from 5th Day till 25st Day and Deviry from 19th till 25th .. After three month the size of uterus has not increased much so Dr suggested us to have 2 Premarin . But she is not having her period from last three Months. Could you please suggest whether she took Deviry 10Mg to get her period back..
Now that I've moved to Mexico, my doctor here doesn't know what I'm talking about and has put me back on Premarin, which is very expensive here. Can anyone tell me what the full name of CES is and/or where I can find more information about it? Thanks so much!
It took 8 days to get my periods but i was only spotting and started clomid on day 2 and was still spotting. I continued and got a proper flow day 4-6. I am now on day 10 taking premarin ( to take it on day 9-16). Going next tuesday (day 16) to gynae for a scan. Was it wrong to take clomid when i was just spotting and if so, what would happen??
My husband and i have been trying to conceive for over 2 years. Gone through the testing loops for both of us, he's in good shape and after a laporoscopy, hysteroscopy and D&C i was given the "unexplained infertility" diagnosis. The next month, i started spotting a week prior to my period. I thought it was luteal phase and progestrone, but finally after running some more hormone and thyroid tests, they found i had low estrogen... <10 on day 3 of my cycle.
I take premarin for menopause symptoms but sometimes have spotting and cramping just like a regular period and I am 55 years old. Is this normal?
On the day my period was due, I started spotting. It has been very light, and I don't have bad cramps like I usually do. This has happened before at least once. I am not taking any antibiotics. The only medication I was taking was phentermine, for weight loss. Could I be pregnant? Should I get a test, and if so, when?
I've been diagnosed with PCOS recently and will start Metformin and Clomid. I've heard the chances of having a healthy pregnancy with these meds are 40% for PCOS women which isn't too bad but wish it was more like 80% : ) Just wanted to hear any success stories to help cheer me up.
you said you waited..before starting a new pack hoping to mess with your period. that means you messed up your pills by not taking them correctly and waiting 4 days. you have had unprotected sex and were not taking your pills teh way you should have...
That is why the premarin cream, because I was spotting and bleeding. They felt the vaginal walls were thinning, and the blood vessel were breaking, that is why the cream. I have had a little reluctnance to try the HRT because of the risk of breast cancer to name a few, but I think that this might be what I have to do for a few years anyways.
Friday it was spotting, Saturday it was full swing, Sunday it was a little lighter, and now nothing. I'm assuming this was my AF as I had a flow and cramps and the whole thing. What I'm wondering is if any of you have experienced lighter periods after having lap surgery and Lupron or any of the above? Before I had the surgery, my periods were at least 4-5 days. Now it was only a couple and not very heavy at all.
I know I have aproblem when I have intercourse I have spasm and couple nights I didn,t use lub maybe that make it happen I don,t know. And now I,m spotting bleed also while I have the yeast infection did that ever happen to any one.
I have been on Ortho Tri-cyclen for a month now and my period is continuing with spotting most days and a more regular flow on others along with extreme tiredness by the afternoon, brain fog, and dry skin. The tiredness and brain fog is affecting my work. I can barely keep my eyes open by 3pm. Could the bcp be interacting with my Synthroid and my levels have become too low? My husband thinks I need to contact my gyno, and I think I need to have my TSH checked. Any thoughts?
I tried Aygestin (progesterone) to try and get it started after being on Lupron..... it didn't work!! I got some light spotting, but no AF. Then I was prescribed some Premarin (estrogen) and was supposed to take it for 25 days, but started it on July 1st, and got my period on July 11th!! I'm sure there are many things your docs can prescribe to you to try and get her going. Unless you didn't want to take anything.
I have talked to my doctor and had ultrasounds done and everything is fine except that my uterine lining is extremely thin and not building back up. I have gone 2 rounds on Premarin (estrogen therapy) and the bleeding stopped for 11 days the longest and has now started again. has anyone else had this happen after taking depo? Like I said it was only 1 shot but has been a nightmare ever since! I have had a regular period since I was 13 and I'm now 33 and it's really mentally getting to me now.
On top of it, she wants to use Premarin since I don't react well to synthetics, and she doesn't think synthetics will be effective. Plus, I have serious ethical reservations to using Premarin. I have horses, I work with horses, I know where it comes from and the ugly side of how it's made. I just don't agree with it. I know it's a godsend to some women, but if it's not an absolute necessity for me, I don't want to use it. And Mary, I asked about bio-identical hormones.
