Avatar n tn I have been reading about Premarin and it can likely cause the problem. I would like to get off Premarin and take a natural hormone replacement, or should I stay on the Premarin. What do you think about that and just how do I do that? I know I shouldn't just quit taking it suddenly.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound, the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
1343178 tn?1276214390 I've been on Premarin .625 for two years for complete surgical hysterectomoy I had at age 42. Today I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid. Would changing my estorgen have a positive effect? Are they related? While I do feel geared up inside (heart racing, hands shaking), I'm fatigued all the time. I do have an appt with the endocronologist. I'd like your opinion.
Avatar f tn What are the reference ranges on your FT4 and TT3? Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. Do you have any hypER symptoms? Intolerance to heat? Diarrhea? Insomnia? Anxiety? Elevated heart rate or blood pressure? Were you trying to lose weight over the paswt year?
Avatar f tn I was placed on Premarin immediately after the surgery. I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar f tn He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
Avatar f tn The pain got much worse and I was not feeling myself so I stopped taking the premerin and opted to try a product I found on line called Amberen, so far that isnt doinganything for the hot flashes and night sweats at all but since stopping the premarin my legs are not bothering. I am taking calcium pills for my bones but I am truly worried for my health and want to find the best options for me.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar f tn OK, so I went to the doctor because I initially had discharge (lasted a day or two) and itching (alot of itching) and a few small bumps on my labia mostly and vaginal area. The doctor did a culture and blood test. The blood test came back positive for herpes (1 and 2 I believe) the culture came back negative. The doctor gave me premarin cream....which wasn't working.
Avatar f tn Can you find a doctor who will prescribe bio-identical hormones. The HRT could be causing your migraines. http://diplomatpharmacy.com/patient_services/bio_identical_hormone_therapy/ Also dairy can cause migraines and there is at least lactose and more than likely lactose monohydrate (think lactose on steroids) in your premarin.
2176548 tn?1340677817 Anyone who has been on Lupron, Premarin and Medroxy ever experience sore breasts and increase in breast size? My boobs have gotten bigger and are like constantly sore!!! Hurts to take off my bra!! Please help!!!
1808278 tn?1338484942 I braved cancer, heart disease, and a host of other things listed on the Premarin packages, but now, I see epilepsy may well cancel out my good skin. Good skin will take a woman FAR! I am suddenly wrinkly, crepy, dry, and my face just does not look like "me". Premarin was taken by many women of my era, in order to keep their skin in flawless condition. What's up?
Avatar n tn It has taken care of the flashes and sweats even better than the Premarin had, and unlike the Premarin, it has really helped with my mood swings, depression and other emotional issues. I did some research on the ingredients, and one of the herbs, Schinus Molle has been found to have natural anti-depressant qualities, which may explain why it has worked as well as it has in that regard. Apparently it doesn’t work the same for everyone (what does?
Avatar m tn Can anyone give me any input on that? Also, I do have family history of heart disease and cancer. The only thing I’m not cunfussed about is, I need relief, and the sooner, the better! It’s been 8 years since the hysterectomy; my family and I are all at the end of our ropes. Please help! Where do I go for testing? Should I go online or a compounding pharmacy? What kind of doctor specializes in HRT? I am losing faith in ever feeling “normal” again.
Avatar f tn I was instructed to stop taking my Premarin (lowest dose), for 6 months at a time for fear of Heart related issues. I have done it before, but experience dryness. I had my hysterectomy in 03 (I'm 46), and haven't had intercourse now for almost two years (for several reasons). For whom this concerns; I've been suggested to try premarin creams, but how often do I use it and do they work?
778044 tn?1299542934 I was on 6 months of Lupron and ended in March. Still waiting for my period to return. I was just given Premarin and agyestin to try and "jump start" my period. Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar f tn in 84 and was on vivelle patch for most of those years. Just estrogen and no progesterone. I was fine until a few years ago and it just got worse. I became so estrogen dominant and became a total mess. I went to a very good hormone imbalance seminar a few days ago and it was great. I think if you went off, you'll regret it in time. There are so many symptoms with low or no hormone production.
Avatar n tn Studies show that hysterectomy without ovary removal increases risk for a number of health problems including heart disease (#1 killer of women), metabolic syndrome, and some cancers (thyroid, renal cell, rectal, brain). The ovaries usually do not function normally after hysterectomy since there is a loss of blood flow and feedback with the uterus. Sometimes they shut down completely as if they were removed.
Avatar f tn I am 52 and have not had a period for 2 years. I am not doing any HRT and just put up with the wide array of lovely symptoms, hot flashes and migraines that you can set a clock by. The latest thing is tinnitus, I hear my heartbeat and a swooshing in my ears. Is that related to menopause?
Avatar f tn Are they testing free T3 and free T4, the actual thyroid hormones, as well as TSH? TSH is a pituitary hormone and a very poor diagnostic of thyroid dysfunction. Have you had several TSH tests, each showing low values? If you ave FT3 and FT4 results, please post along with reference ranges.
Avatar n tn I don't want to quote anything I've read, but after putting in "Premarin and Hypothyroidism" and "Progesterone and Hypothyroidism", the articles I've read indicate that Premarin prevents the thyroid from working properly, and Progesterone cream is beneficial. I just wanted to mention this because it may be of help. I am going to look into it further myself.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I did the saliva test, and results came back that I am estrogen dominant and dhea and prog. and test very low. So they pharmacist started me on 5 mg of dhea and also a progest. cream. I was good for 4 days and thought I found the cure. Until just last Wed all the way until today...that is 6 days....I started with severe cramps, pain in lower back, almost as if I was getting my menstrual cycle. Then came the Diarrhea and I am not talking one time....
Avatar n tn Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
Avatar f tn It seems odd to follow fibroid surgery with estrogen HRT (premarin and estrone are both types of estrogen) since estrogen causes fibroids to grow... You should call your doctor and ask when your period should start. I'm surprised your doctor did not tell you to use protection (condom, diaphragm) until you are ready to get pregnant since Premarin does not prevent pregnancy... I wish I could be of more assistance...
1523516 tn?1330044257 The only medication I have been on since that time is Premarin (HRT) and just recently started taking Celexa. Thanks!!
Avatar f tn I take prednisone, synthroid, Raneka, topamax, synthroid, premarin, metoprolol, premarin, lexapro, plavix, baby aspirin. I would love to be able to get Lazik eye surgury. Am I a candidate for this procedure? If so do you know any good surgueons in the ATL area?
Avatar m tn What really stood out to me is that you had a "full hysterectomy" at age 28 and only took hormones (Premarin) for 8.5-9 years. Numerous studies show that removal of the ovaries is associated with quite a few health problems. Every cell in our bodies needs our ovarian hormones - heart, bones, brain, lungs, skin, hair, etc. Contrary to what we're told, the ovaries don't even shut down at menopause. They are shown to produce hormones our whole lives.
