Avatar n tn If you are a vegetarian for animal-cruelty reasons, add eggs and cheese to your diet. I was a vegetarian for a long time but I ate fish and poultry when I was pregnant.
Avatar f tn I'm 6 weeks pregnant and I've been vegetarian for the last 17years. Any more vegetarian pregnancies out there?
Avatar f tn I have been a vegetarian for over a year now. I am 15 weeks pregnant and haven't gained any weight. The doctor isn't concerned now but I'm worried he will eventually say something. No I'm not going back to eating meat. The smell of it makes me sick. I was just wondering if anyone else was and what were they doing?
Avatar f tn I plan on going back to being vegetarian and still breast feeding once baby is born in 3 weeks (I'm beih induced). do you have any tips on what I can supplement or things to do so my supply doesn't run out and my baby gets what she needs through my milk?
Avatar n tn There are many good vegetarian protein sources. Nuts, beans, higher protein whole grains and seeds and grain-like foods. I'd go buy a few books on vegetarian cooking. But know that not everyone is equipped to do well as a vegetarian -- most vegetarians do it for ideological reasons and it is harder to get all your nutrients as a vegetarian, particularly methionine and B12, so you do have to learn how to do it well.
Avatar f tn I am a former vegetarian of 5 years. When I was a vegetarian I was not being very responsible in regards to getting adequate nutrition which caused my thyroid to become imbalanced. I lost 15 pounds in one month, and I didn’t weigh very much to being with. I felt very, very sick and consequently started eating meat again. I still feel that animal abuse is wrong, but you can get meat from local farmers where you know how the animals are treated.
1201598 tn?1265473722 You are going to have to work a little harder to get that protein in but it can be done. Do your homework and study up on a vegetarian lifestyle. Some ways you can get protein is soy, nuts and beans. My teenage daughter wanted to be a vegetarian for a few years so I had to learn how to cook vegetarian. She's not doing it so much anymore but I still use soy, like the soy crumbles in soups or the firm tofu in veggie stir fries. She also likes the Boca burgers, which is a soy burger.

Avatar f tn So I had been a vegetarian for 8 years before becoming pregnant. About five months into it my doctor said my iron levels were too low because I didn't absorb the iron from the vitamin correctly. So to make sure my baby was safe she recommended I eat at least one type of animal protein. She recommended fish since I would also lack omega vitamins without it. So I started eating fish, in moderation of course to avoid mercury.
Avatar n tn I am 34 and have always been overweight. I work out, eat a vegan/ vegaterian diet, also I'm active. My heavest was 232, and I currently weigh 198. I am 4wk3days pregnant with my first. I'm worried about gaining weight. I tried so hard to lose what I have lost and I'm still considered obesed. All the preggo pics I see are of a healthy weight female. How will I look as I get thru the trimesters. FYI: I am not dieting, not on any pills and will not put the health of my baby at risk.

This has been present for 2 weeks now when she returned to the northeast from her childhood home in the southwest. She does not have asthma or COPD. Family history of breast cancer. She has not seen anyone but a chiropractor who referred to her pcp but will not go.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Today I started having a fever, diarrhoea, vomiting, body pains, huge headache and suffering with depression I am vegetarian so not sure if it could be food poisoning as I don't even eat fish. I have had unprotected sex on the 8 and 9th May as well as 29 and 30th May. I don't know why I am in such a state. I feel like I have been hit by a bus and now suffering. My fertility windows ended on the 29th May of which I had unprotected sex.

1214758 tn?1320478086 Can I dye my hair in the first trimester? I'm 8 weeks pregnant and hate seeing the grey hairs come thru!
748746 tn?1235261426 m not a vegetarian but I had a friend who was a vegetarian get pregnant. I became suspicious that she might be pregnant because she was interested in my turkey sandwich one day at lunch! lol So she definitely started craving meat and she ate other high protein foods to ensure her diet was balanced - such as tofu, eggs and chick peas. Your body may be craving more protein and / or iron. If you can, incorporate other protein sources into your diet such as the ones I mentioned above.
Avatar f tn Im not a vegetarian and I recently was told to start taking a vegetarian vitamin. I was just wondering if it was bad for me to take them?
492921 tn?1321289896 I am just the opposite! Haha! I rarely eat meat normally, although I'm not a vegetarian. I just don't eat alot of it unless it's seafood or chicken, until I got pregnant! I crave hamburgers and have to have some sort of meat daily! It's weird!
