Avatar f tn I was wondering when did the doctor start checking to see if you were dilated ? And how far along were you when you lost your mucus plug and what did it look like and feel like ?
Avatar f tn Even if u lose ur mucus plug it could still be awhile be labor comes on.... just means ur cervix is softening...
Avatar f tn the mucus plug is never a pleasant sight but a very normal part of the end of pregnancy, good luck!!
4678041 tn?1360105479 I had an infection once that looked identical to my mucus plug, it looked like someone blew their nose (sorry tmi haha) and it was an infection, I only got it once during pregnancy. But infections can cause your mucus plug to dislodge some too.
Avatar f tn About a mnth b4 I went into active labor I lost mucus plug w/out blood. Then a few weeks before, I had loose stools & neasua. Sometimes vomiting. 3 dys before, the mucus plug that continued to kick out turned to old blood. Constant contractions the entire time. At times I would get really weak & tired & @ other times I would get nesting urges. The night before hospital, my contractions became more intense. By 5am, I was in a lot of pain.
Avatar f tn That's probably just gestational mucus not your mucus plug but I would call your doctor
Avatar n tn Definitely sound like your mucus plug mine was completely clear with no pink with my first pregnancy
Avatar f tn To: Bekki_bump A mucus plug is exactly what the name implies-- a plug made out of mucus to protect the uterus from harmful bacteria or substances that might harm the baby. :) I believe it plugs the cervix? To: Nigeria2009 I believe I lose mine every time the hubby and I practice our babymaking. If I remember right (or did the right research during my last pregnancy), a mucus plug can be lost and reform itself multiple times during a pregnancy.
Avatar f tn If you want a image, you can search it up on Google or YouTube, thats how I found out how it looked like because my first pregnancy, I missed seeing it. With my second pregnancy, when I saw my mucus plug, I had my son 2 weeks later.
Avatar f tn I think I just lost my mucus plug but I'm not sure...its was kinda in the toilet....looked like a little ball of snot...
Avatar n tn I'm not sure but if you lost your plug prior to 37 weeks you should contact your dr immediately. Hope all is well!
Avatar f tn The plug is a little blood tinged.
Avatar f tn 5cm dilated , I lost my mucus plug last Tuesday , talked to my doctor she said its normal to lose ur mucus plug around this time in ur pregnancy & doesn't mean you're in labor , pregnancy can still go to full term and even alittle later with the loss of mucus plug .
5807499 tn?1383275275 1) No. Sometimes women dialate and don't notice their mucus plug or it comes out very slowly as pregnancy progresses. Some women lose it while in active labor. 2) Yes. Your water can break at anytime in your pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I thought the mucus plug coming out was a sign of Labour ?
Avatar f tn From early pregnancy – at around seven weeks - a plug of mucus seals your cervix to help prevent infection – hence the name, mucus plug. The mucus plug accumulates at the cervix during pregnancy. When the cervix begins to open wider, the mucus is discharged into the vagina and may be clear, pink, or slightly bloody. Labor may begin soon after the mucus plug is discharged or one to two weeks later.
Avatar f tn Hello the mucus plug replenished itself throughout your pregnancy. It's more noticeable in some women than others. When you lose your actual mucus plug, it should have a brown tinge to it out even just bloody. Labor normally sets in within a few hours after that. If it isn't like that then it is just normal yucky pregnancy discharge. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Theres no certain order. With my first pregnancy I didn't have any signs of loosing my mucus plug and I was dilated then my water broke. With my second pregnancy which I am 38 weeks now I started to dilate first then I started loosing little pieces of my mucus plug but no sign of baby yet im praying for my water to break because I heard it hurts when the doctors break your water.
Avatar f tn Not every mucus discharge is your mucus plug I've had mucus discharge throughout my whole pregnancy and the doctor said it was normal so don't go freaking out thinking you're gunna go into labor unless you're bleeding having contractions baby isn't moving or your water breaks is when you should be concerned at least that's what they've told me when I went into the hospital because I was having preterm labor
