How far along are you? Every pregnancy that do a glucose test unless they already know you are diabetic. I just did my glucose test today and scared to find out that I have gestational diabetes. I hope it's negative.
I have my glucose test tomorrow and I am super nervous! I LOVE my sweets, and espically being pregnant that's all I crave is sweets! However the receptionist at my OB office gave me my drink and gave me instructions to eat a normal breakfast, drink the drink 30 minutes before my appointment. When I've talked to so e other people they have said eating before you go could potentially make you fail the test.
I have a doctors App tomorrow to have a glucose test done. So my questions are! -What is my doctor going to do? -Is it okay for me to eat or drink anything?
My doc just called and I did not pass the 1-hour glucose test so now I have to go back for the 3-hour! Has this happened to anybody? Anyone know what happens if I have the diabetes you get with pregnancy? Ugh!
I'm Taking My Glucose Test On The 30th I'm Really Nervous This Is My First Pregnancy How Will It Go??What Do iDo?? Help!!
Before you go off calling people idiots you should look at your wording. You said how do I pass it. Since you failed it. What else are you really asking with that statement? You don't do anything to "pass it" you take the test and follow the instructions they give you to do before hand. Pretty simple.
I had a negative 3 hour glucose test i am now 34 weeks and i now have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day and carefully watch what i eat about the last month, and everytime i check it's exactly where it needs to be! So hopefully you pass it because taking blood is hard to remember although it's for the best! Goodluck!
What exactly do they do when you take the glucose test?
A random glucose test is not a glucose tolerance test. A random glucose test is just that. They measure your blood glucose at just any time when you're eating normal meals. This does not qualify as a screening for Gestational Diabetes. Depending on how long after your last meal and what you ate, the results could be normal, even if your blood sugar is not.
you do not need to fast. I was told though not to eat any carbs or sugars (including fruit) before the test. My test was at 10am, so I had scrammbled eggs and 2 soy sausage patties for breakfast. But, of course... I would check with your doctor because they might have different instructions than what I was given.
I had my glucose test this morning. My instructions were to eat a normal breakfast but to avoid sugars and juice. Since I was at the labs at 7:00 am this morning I elected to not eat before and had breakfast after the test. The lab technician did not ask if I had fasted. The test I took was the one where you have a small drink- you must drink it in 5 minutes or less, and an hour from that they draw your blood. The first one. Hopefully everything is good.
they'll use those #'s to determine if I have to worry about GD or not.. amazing how pregnancy changes EVERYTHING.. because I've taken the 3-hour test before when I was tested for diabetes back in high school. I was a little nauseous for an hour or so, but I never puked.. it's so crazy because I love the taste of the drink actually lol I felt fine.. didn't even feel nauseous.. I told my fiancé I felt "funny".. my heart started racing.. and I felt like I was going to pass out.
I have to go in Tuesday to do the 3 hour test :( I am wondering if eating before my test had anything to do with my results! My test was at 1pm and I ate a banana at 9am then had a ceasar salad and barley veggie soup at about 11am. Do you think this may have affected the results?
I have my Glucose test wednesday morning and Im worried about it! I hate needles so I really really need to pass this so I dont have to do the longer one. My mom told me to cut sugar out of my diet a little before I do it. What else should I do to improve my odds of passing. Are carbs ok or are they going to be the same as sugar in terms of me failing?!?!? Help!!! how do I pass this thing?!?!
So I had my 1 hour glucose test Monday and the doctor called Tuesday and told me my blood levels came back high, I scheduled the 3 hour glucose screening for this upcoming Monday. I had a stomach flu that day an the day before and was very dehydrated.. Anybody else hadthis happen to them and not end up being confirmed witch gestational diabetes?? I'm a worried mommy.
Just curious if anyone had a high 1h glucose test but still passed the 3h test? What was your 1h level? Mine was 174 so I am a little nervous since it was not exactly borderline. THANKS!

I just got a call from my OB that I didn't pass the 3 hour glucose test, now i'm freaking out. He said he'll call me back with more instructions, I'll either have to go see a dietician and will have to start checking my sugar. For now he said I should avoid foods made out of white flour and sugar and eliminat fruits that are high in sugar. Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences they can share? How does this affect the babies. I'm paniking.
It's a pregnancy cat. C drug. You are exactly right to call your MW for furthur instructions on what to do next. Probably won't hurt you to swallow, but you are right to ask.
I had a whole bag of twizzlers 30 minutes before my glucose test and passed with a 98. If anything I was almost considered anemic. The only weight issue i have had is due to stress and by the time my next appointment comes around, everything has resolved itself and I am at a normal weight gain. Anyway I pretty much did and eat whatever I want, just in proportion.
She asked me to take a couple of tests[pelvis scan, FSH, prolactin, insulin, hemoglobin, glucose] Except for TSH...all the test results turned out to be normal. TSH level was 6.96 u Iu/m this time. The doctor asked me to continue thyronorm and to cease the bleeding she asked me to take the tablet "trapic" for 3 days and asked me to come again if it doesn't stop... but after taking trapic I started to bleed more and more. Has anyone experienced such abnormal bleeding before?
I got so happy bec my friend told me she experienced this too and it's impantation bleeding. Anways i took 2 pregnancy test all negative got my period on the 18th. I didnt know what that was bec i have never ever had that before. At the same time we were moving so i lifted things did stuff so i don't know if that has anything 2 do with things. I went to the doc's he said he's gonna do some tests checked my white/red blood count but now that i go back he never took a pregnancy test.
