Avatar f tn I struggle with acne as well. But I have 100% STOPPED using face wash, I'm only using hot water with a wash cloth. Surprisingly my skin has never been better! All those chemicals will only irritated your skin NO MATTER what, even if they work at first eventually they will end up bringing acne back. So my suggestion is HOT WATER ONLY.
Avatar n tn Hi Sir, I used to get pimples around my face, back and chest however I had undergone a treatment and the problem subsided eventually however the moment I left the treatment I again started getting pimples or some kind of infection. I am again undergoing a treatment and the doctor says that this is a normal concern....I got some reports done and everything is fine.. Please let me know how long will this continue? will I be ever able to get rid of this medication?
Avatar f tn Using acne products is sort of like dying your hair during pregnancy Theyre not sure of how much of the chemicals is absorbed and if they harm the baby etc. Different drs have different takes on if theyre okay to use or not. The best advice i can give you is to tell your dr your using it, and use it after your out of the first trimester because thats when the anatomy is forming. I use stridex pads occasionally because i get acne a lot ): it *****.
Avatar f tn Yep I has 1% salicylic acid.
Avatar f tn Treating acne during pregnancy can be a little tricky. It is considered best to avoid chemical treatment at this stage. There are a couple of home remedies that you could follow. 1. Drink lots of water, keep you'd body hydrated and cool 2. Drink fresh tender coconut water if available 3. Apply lemon juice on your acne. It has been tried and tested. All the best on your pregnancy !

Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.

Avatar n tn At the beginning of this pregnancy (3rd as well) i has bad acne all over my lower jaw and neck. It started going away right after the first trimester. I am 19 weeks now and back to normal. I never had acne like that with my first 2. Im 25 too!
Avatar n tn Now I have persistant and large acne on my cheeks and jawline, including cystic acne. The acne is ever present and not just once a month. My current dermo (not the one who proscribed Accutane) tells me that it's hormonal (I believe this) and that I will just have to deal with it for the rest of my life (I don't want to accept this). She does Cortosone injections on occasion for the cysts because I cannot, for the life of me, leave my face alone.
Avatar f tn because before I got pregnant I would get a lot of acne all over my T zone area really bad.. Anyone else having the same or have had the same awesome issue?? After my pregnancy will my acne back:/??
Avatar f tn Personally If it was me I wouldn't do anything as drastic as a dnc yet, it CAN cause abnormalities but it doesn't mean in your case it has, id wait n see and if it has taken any effect on the growth of the baby make your decision from there, but it's your choice and depends what you can handle emotionally

Avatar n tn I found two articles in the medical literature about electrothermolysis, just uncontrolled pilot studies, but neither referred to acne treatment--one was about treating facial seborrhea, the other was about hair removal. So basically, I don't know. There are other acne treatments you might want to consider, such as laser treatments to minimize oil glands, They are safe and have shown modest effectiveness, though it's not always long lasting.
Avatar m tn I went to the dermatologist and wasn't able to see a doctor, instead I was seeing by an intern who didn't seem to know what she was doing but anyway, she prescribed me what my primary care physician had already put me on for 10days; SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 Tab Interpharm to treat my infected acne. She told me she's going to keep me on it for 8 months. Now, if this is an antibiotic, is it normal to be prescribed for that long? and for acne grade III?
