901222 tn?1399142874 I was in the same boat and I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me. I got on lyrica 100mg. It's non narcotic and helps withdrawal. I think it's actually for fibromyalgia or nerve pain not really sure but I got shot in the face and jumped a year later and they hit me in the jaw with a sledge hammer and it works good for me.
Avatar f tn Hello there, Indeed mood stabilizers like gabapentin, pregabalin, topiramate are used in benzos withdrawal because they have anticonvulsive proprieties and they also can help with anxiety. The anticonvulsive proprieties will avoid the risk any seizure that could happen during a benzos withdrawal and their mood stabilizing effect are linking to the GABA receptors which are the same receptors that benzos are targeting.
Avatar f tn You are not suppose to stop lyrica cold turkey. Stopping the use of pregabalin may cause withdrawal symptoms to occur. Individuals with seizure disorders who are taking this medication should avoid suddenly stopping its use due to the risk of experiencing increased seizure frequency. Withdrawal involves an array of symptoms that kick in when you discontinue your pregabalin use abruptly.
Avatar m tn Anyway I had already taperd of the night dose by cutting it and was on the half for the last 3 weeks (only for night dose) And before two days I have stopped the night dose fully. Having only morning dose .I Also having Tianeptine for depression and Pregabalin for pain (but not helping with pain.I think it will help for my Alpra withdrawal on 7mg-0-75mg).After skipping the night dose ai am having depression and pain .Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Hi, so I've been using gabapentin for withdrawal from hydromorphone. I used the hydromorphone to get off of fentanyl which Id been addicted to for 2 years. So I badly tapered of the hydro, and have been self medicating with gabapentin to nullify my withdrawal symptoms (about 2400mg 2x a day is what I've found at this point works best after establishing a tolerance).
Avatar f tn I have come of it once before but then replapsed, btw I didn;t get much withdrawal on it - I did however take pregabalin and lorazepam during the w'd I am currently on 12mgs of Espranor, (25-30% move biovalability than subutex)
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum. Kissing has never been known to result in HIV transmission -- and of course bleeding gums are very common, but still no known transmissions, so that's nothing to worry about. And condoms work -- some contact of the penis with vaginal fluids always occurs above the condom or during withdrawal and doesn't increase risk. Finally, most sex workers don't have HIV, so probably there was no risk anyway. Also, your test results are very reassuring.
1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar m tn Doubling just the first couple of times caused swelling in my mouth and around my eyes, so I dropped lyrica altogether. In no time I was hit with xanax type withdrawal symptoms: depersonalization, lack of concentration and dizziness being the most frightening. So, I asked to be switched to neurontin and he wrote out 300 mgs. three times daily for me.
1252153 tn?1269094321 can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin, thats what i am on now, been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.
15227985 tn?1439629482 Because I am a chronic pain patient and also a recovering addict...I would like to clarify a few of the differences between Lyrica/pregabalin and Neurontin/gabapentin. They are "similar".....but also have some major differences. They are both medications that need to be titrated UP when you first go on them.... meaning to gradually increase your dose. Likewise, when you go off of either of them, you must wean yourself DOWN.
2107676 tn?1388973859 I am back on Effexor (which was hell to taper off of), and pregabalin and fighting hard not to take too much pregabalin to ease the withdrawals. Luckily I have been sleeping quite a bit but I'm awake now and feeling like hell. It just seems like I have been through a year of fighting not to go through this hell and here I end up again.
Avatar m tn The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin, was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?
Avatar m tn Well done making it this far :-) From my little knowledge of methadone it has a long half life so I'm not quite sure when your withdrawals would actually start but I'd say about now Fingers crossed for you Hun I'm on night 3 of dihydrocodeine withdrawal plus a lot of other meds an I'm doing surprisingly well so far . How are you actually feeling now on day 3 ?
986593 tn?1283532211 Withdrawal symptoms are similar to benzodiazepine withdrawal but the severity of the withdrawal depends on how much pregabalin has been taken and how long it has been taken. Pregabalin should be reduced gradually when finishing treatment.
Avatar m tn Most of us with significant pain take Neurontin (Gabapentin) or Lyrica (Pregabalin). These do work for nerve pain, though doses have to be titered up and down when we start or stop them. Hefty doses may be needed, and sometimes they need supplementation with a small dose of an antidepressant such as Cymbalta or Amiltryptiline--someone correct me please if I don't have these drugs right. But some antidepressants do have pain-relieving properties as well.
Avatar m tn I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?
Avatar m tn no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.
3122908 tn?1342154651 I can guarantee not only will your pain come back, but you will so miserable! I take its cousin, pregabalin, for nerve pain in my back, and occasionally I run low on them and you would not believe how many aches and pains a person really has until they quit a drug to help all that. It is a fairly mild drug, however, so it's not like you won't be able to function, you just won't be a happy camper.
983008 tn?1329925830 t spoken to my Dr yet as the surgery has been shut over Xmas and I did expect evrything to calm down since increasing the Pregabalin, am currently visiting my lovely stepdaughter for a few days (sitting with my feet up and playing with her laptop) I am seeing my neuro in a few weeks but am wondering if I should visit my Dr again as at this rate I doubt I will be back to work next week - the Hospital did mention putting me on a steroid drip and then changed their minds - is this the way forward?
