Avatar f tn Some physicians and homeopathic wellness specialists convey that Methylcobalamin V-B12 is the proper grade for use. It is believed that Methylcobalamin as the specific form of B12 is unique in aiding the nervous system, liver and brain health. It appears (and again, opinions vary) that Methylcobalamin has a much higher absorption rate and retained in higher amounts in your tissues.

Avatar f tn I have some let’s say friends who are convinced that methylcobalamin (vitamin b12) is a form of “speed” - literally they think that methyl groups make people faster. I love done organic chemistry and know that’s not true.
Avatar m tn The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin, was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?
Avatar m tn Yes 396 is too low. Under 500 should be considered deficient. You want to be closer to 1,000. Are you taking B12 supplements? You can try B12 Methylcobalamin sublinguals or spray to raise levels. Stay away from Cyanocobalamin, it's a cheaper version in most vitamins and not good. Methylcobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin taken together are supposed to be helpful.
Avatar m tn Have lost 22kgs in 7 months. I am taking Fomatidine, Rifaximin (for last 8 days), Methylcobalamin 500mg (Only today), B Complex, Multi vitamin, Digestive Enzyme (last two days), Probiotic. I have this constant crawling and soaking feeling near both sides of shoulder blade for a long time, and after i started Rifaximin, in left Posterior Deltoid muscle. What could be the reason?
Avatar m tn I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?
Avatar m tn no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Thanks for that, Tuck. I've had a look through PubMed database to see if there have been scientific studies specifically on the question of tolerance, but without joy. As far as I can tell, the main assumption/claim is that because pregabalin is not known to be metabolically active (ie, the liver and body don't metabolise it into other molecules) the patient shouldn't develop tolerance. I am now a bit more sceptical of that claim.
1297586 tn?1274105947 I am taking hypothyroid meds. I have consulted ENT doc and they prescribed prednisolone, methylcobalamin inj. for this. From last week, I have seen some improvement but not at all cure. I felt some inbalance while walking and still there is some ringing sounds. I want to know whether my hearing problem will be a permanent or not. I want to hear any advice regarding my problem.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.
Avatar n tn Look for methylcobalamin vs cyanocobalamin.
1948410 tn?1324724251 Scientists have shown that very high doses of methylcobalamin (a form of vitamin B12) produce nerve regeneration in laboratory rats. Recommended to take 2000mcg daily of sublingual (under the tongue) B12.
901222 tn?1399142874 Lyrica (pregabalin) is a GABA analogue, similar to Neurontin (gabapentin). Even though pregabalin is approved for The results are still out on whether or not people suffer neurological dependance on this medication. People using high doses of pregabalin (> 1000 mg/day) report problems stopping this medication. My attitude about certain reported side-effects, like weight gain, is that I'll never know what they'll do to me until I try.
Avatar f tn I use Bioceuticals as it's the only B12 sublingual spray in Australia. O_o lol I take 2000 mcg daily (4 sprays under the tongue). Sublingual method bypasses the gut and goes directly into the blood stream very quickly. Bioceuticals uses cyanocobalamin form of B12 and this works well for me although this type of B12 doesn't last long in the tissues hence why symptoms show up quickly if I don't take enough. Cyanocobalamin shouldn't be used if you smoke or have liver issues.
3122908 tn?1342154651 I can guarantee not only will your pain come back, but you will so miserable! I take its cousin, pregabalin, for nerve pain in my back, and occasionally I run low on them and you would not believe how many aches and pains a person really has until they quit a drug to help all that. It is a fairly mild drug, however, so it's not like you won't be able to function, you just won't be a happy camper.
