Avatar m tn Also my problem is mainly GAD and mild depression has come with it. Currenlty, I am taking pregabalin for GAD. Wonder drug for me. I am little concerned with it side effects such as infertility and birth defects. Apart from that I am very happy with this med.
Avatar f tn While pregabalin, known as "Lyrica" in the States, has unlabeled uses for GAD and SAD, (Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder) it is primarily prescribed here for fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain associated with peripheral neuropathy. Nowhere can I find that it is beneficial for sleep problems, although one of it's side effects IS "fatigue," I don't think that is the desired effect for a sleep aid.
Avatar m tn I have recently started taking pregabalin for GAD and I can honestly tell that it is a miracle drug for me. It has been a week now since I have started taking 50mg pragabalin after meal. All of my GAD symptoms have gone. I don't feel severe anxiety, constant restlessness (akathesia), social anxiety, muscle tension, depression, panic attack e.t.c. Before that I was taking Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin for sexual side effects, Inderrall for heart palpitation and muscle relaxants everyday.
Avatar m tn are there any new developing medication for anxiety? im taking pregabalin amongst others but cant recommend it enough!
Avatar n tn s analgetic properties(against peripheral and central neuropathic pain) but also it is indicated for GAD (not panic attacks) .

Avatar m tn m wondering how long ago. There are medications available now that work really well for GAD and have a favorable side effect profile. The duel receptor types of medications that work on both serotonin and norepinephrine-- SRNI's. Effexor is a brand name of one of these types of drugs. Have you tried something like this?
Avatar m tn Is there anyone out there suffering with GAD and if so do you always seem to feel unusually tired and cannot concentrate well?
Avatar m tn I am going to school full time and comute 90 miles a day which stresses me out alot, So in other words when does everyone think I will get a little relief from GAD and maybe some possible ideas to help with the poor concentration parts of the GAD. Thanks to whomever read this.
Avatar n tn I am having my second bout with GAD after having relief for 18 years with no medication. I have been taking klonopin on and off for the last year. When I use klonopin it makes me feel like a new person. My concentration is improved I laugh my anxiety is gone and I have a general feeling of well being. I have been taking it everyday for the last two months at .25 mg a day in the morning. I know it does not sound like much but it works for me.
Avatar m tn My doctor told me again that I have gad I was just wondering if gad can cause you to have more anger and think thoughts of hurting someone or yourself? Or am I just going crazy? I know in my own mind I would never do that but why am I getting these thoughts. It seems lately as if I have been really angered and more pissed off with people around me.
Avatar n tn I have heard of links between gluten and autism. Many doctors suggest gluten free diets for children and adults with autism. However, I haven't heard anything about GAD and gluten free diets. Doesn't hurt to try I suppose!
Avatar m tn I have GAD and have had it all my life.. I had an extremely acute 2 year period and am getting much better etc. I was given the option of SSRI's but preffered to try and live with it.. I have to drive to Nebraska and so one of my many phobias fears is Thunderstorms and Tornadoes etc. So am trying to get past this by educating myself and so I can face my fears. I would love any feedback help.
7581744 tn?1393535329 I look at GAD as a challenge to overcome. Personnally, I do not look at it as curable or uncurable. I believe that it is more of a "learnable" condition in my experience with it. Many times, our anxiety comes from confusion and misunderstanding of both the situation and how we feel about it, which is a good thing in my opinion, because those are factorst that we can control with some knowledge on how to do that. Are you planning to go seek counseling for this?
Avatar m tn The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin, was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?
Avatar m tn I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?
Avatar m tn no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Thanks for that, Tuck. I've had a look through PubMed database to see if there have been scientific studies specifically on the question of tolerance, but without joy. As far as I can tell, the main assumption/claim is that because pregabalin is not known to be metabolically active (ie, the liver and body don't metabolise it into other molecules) the patient shouldn't develop tolerance. I am now a bit more sceptical of that claim.
