You do need to be mindful that it can quickly become an issue of addiction and to prevent that I recommend treating your depression. Treating depression helps pain levels. Try to de-isolate and talk to your doctor re: the depression.

Hi from Greece. I am a male 56 years old.I suffer from depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), with anxiety and panic attacks for two years. I suppose depression arised from the fact that both my daughters were forced to immigrate because of the economic crisis of my homeland. Anyway, i tried Cipralex, Cymbalta, Seroxat, Effexor even and the combo Effexor with Remeron (California rocket fuel) but without great results. In fact, some of these meds, made me worse.

Also my problem is mainly GAD and mild depression has come with it. Currenlty, I am taking pregabalin for GAD. Wonder drug for me. I am little concerned with it side effects such as infertility and birth defects. Apart from that I am very happy with this med.

I have sever depression, anxiety, and fibro. I am currently on Savella, which seems to have worked somewhat well for fibro and depression. Unfortunately, what I cant control is the anxiety. I cant work. The PA Ive been seeing for the last 18 years wont even give me ten xanax a month, so I can rarely go out. I dont know if increasing the Savella will help calm the anxiety or not?

but 6 month ago i have been consulted with a general physician who prescribed me some depression release medicine , pregabalin for 2 -3 weeks and also B12 tablets for a month!!! after taking all those medicine i didnt get any good result then i consulted with a neurologist who prescribed me only Tab:gabapentin 100mg (14Tab) and after taking this medicine i also didn't get any positive result !!

- and this is an entirely understandable feeling to have - then I suggest organising to see a specialist for dealing with emotional side of trauma, such as a psychologist, or perhaps a psychiatrist (psychiatrists can prescribe medication for depression, anxiety, etc), or both. They can't stop your physical pain but they can assist you in getting on top of the worst emotional aspects.

Anyway I had already taperd of the night dose by cutting it and was on the half for the last 3 weeks (only for night dose) And before two days I have stopped the night dose fully. Having only morning dose .I Also having Tianeptine for depression and Pregabalin for pain (but not helping with pain.I think it will help for my Alpra withdrawal on 7mg-0-75mg).After skipping the night dose ai am having depression and pain .Is this normal?

I have constant lower back pain,when walking,standing or bending,hips burn & pain,hurt to touch,have numbness,tingling & electric shock sensations in arms,numbness in legs,immobility of neck,fatigue & tiredness,loose balance at times,headaches,depression,sensitive to heat,have had tunnel or foggy vision at times,stiffness & pain on bending in knees,& numbness & swelling sometimes in one or both feet.

Lyrica (pregabalin) is a more potent form of gabbapentin, it is an anti convulsant drug, which is also used for neuropathic pain and generalized anxiety disorder. It can also have some serious side effects just like gabbapentin, which include depression, drowsiness, and suicidal tendencies. Not something I would want to run out and get for wd's. It must be carefully monitored by your Doc.

can anyone tell me what Lyrica is and Savella, in england Lyrica is a company who make a drug called Pregabalin,thats what i am on now,been back to doc 2day and he has give me a larger dose of pregabalin.

The only anti anxiety medication iv been on is pregabalin,was on it for over a year but it didnt really agree with me.im currently taking fluxoteine 20mg x 2 a day and cinerazine.Im looking for a anti anxiety drug to help stop this dizziness that iv had for over 2 years,im not looking for a "fix" but something to help me while i battle this anxiety and agoraphobia.Have you ever been on buspar?

t sleep for pain im exhausted along with depression and fibromyalgia. what should i do ? neurologist given me pregabalin and tried lamotrigine bot they don't work.

I'm 21 and male. I was having arm pains which was caused by neck pain for bad posture on computer desk. So I went to the GP (general medicine) and he said the pain is for the neck, and it will go away and asked me to do some static neck exercise and swimming and prescribed 'Pregabalin m-75' to take for 1 month and stop.

I honestly don't know where to begin.having an off day_ I'm getting Methotrexate shots for my arthritis every other week. from pain/managemnt dr...for the.last 5 months,been feeling extremely exhausted,passing out w/ my boots on, no energy whatsoever,just scrolling the mouse,is painful. low vitamin D I'm taking vitamin D2 1.25 MG <generic for Drisdol.and for pain Meloxicam 15 mg..still in pain,I live in pain.doing much less activity..

Hi i wondered if anyone could explain there experience of Pregabalin (Lyrica?) i have been on Gabapentin for the last 3 months with only a little success (the twitches have reduced considerably) but no relief pain. Now the Dr is going to swap me to Pregabalin which has to be done slowly to switch from one to the other, so this will start as soon as I'm home from holiday. I wondered if anyone had done this and what there experience of the drugs are?

no it is not arthritis.....my question is....what will happen if she combines the methadone and the pregabalin?...she takes methadone about every other day...a bottle of 130mg methadone will last her almost 5 to 6 days....any info would be helpful.

Thanks for that, Tuck. I've had a look through PubMed database to see if there have been scientific studies specifically on the question of tolerance, but without joy. As far as I can tell, the main assumption/claim is that because pregabalin is not known to be metabolically active (ie, the liver and body don't metabolise it into other molecules) the patient shouldn't develop tolerance. I am now a bit more sceptical of that claim.

Hi there. Maxgalin or pregabalin is used t otreat pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes or shingles. In your case, this nerve pain could be due to diabetes, compression of lumbosacral nerve roots due to lumbar disc prolapsed or degeneration. The other two drugs, eliwel or amitriptilline and duzella or duloxetine are anti depressants given to you for the associated depression. Get an MRI lumbar spine to check lumbar disc prolapsed or degeneration. Consult a neurosurgeon soon. Take care.

t the right time and went back to it due to reemerging anxiety and depression. When I reinstated it at a very low dose I got a bad reaction, I felt horrible increased anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation(for the first time in my life) and burning sensations on my scalp and hands.

Anyway just before we went, I had an dr. appointment. In short he is changing the Gabapentin to Pregabalin which he is asking my GP to over see when I'd returned from holiday. Also did a blood test for sarcoid, as I have had eye problems, he felt this was unlikley but wanted the test done. If that is negative he is refering me to a specialist for botox which will help the TN pain. So I have returned to find a letter from my GP to go and see him as soon as I return from holiday.

I can guarantee not only will your pain come back, but you will so miserable! I take its cousin, pregabalin, for nerve pain in my back, and occasionally I run low on them and you would not believe how many aches and pains a person really has until they quit a drug to help all that. It is a fairly mild drug, however, so it's not like you won't be able to function, you just won't be a happy camper.
