He said, the nerve is inflamed for some reason. He was going to put me on Medrol dose pack so I hopefully wouldn't get an acute attack with my new job. He said to call him next week if I didn't feel better, but he's sure I won't call, because I WILL feel better. (Who doesn't feel better on steroids?) He then went through ALL the tests I've ever had done. Every page of my chart. He said, Your spinal tap was NORMAL? Yes. The protein was a little high. Yes, it was.
It starts out as allergy symptoms, gets into the sinuses a bit, but ends up settling in my chest where I end up with a tender sternum, horse voice, although not able to break anything loose For the past 3 yeasrs tehy've started me out on a z-pack and I've ended up on prednisone........why and what is going on? Can I do anything to prevent what is going on?
I went to the doctor on Sunday and he said I had an infection and prescribed a z-pack and prednisone. The first day I felt pretty bad mostly I think because the drainage was suppressing my appetite and making me feel nauseous. I also had a bad sinus headache in the evening not to mention a hard time sleeping because of a dry, hacking nighttime cough that woke me up -- I only get the cough at night.
I went to the doctor 12 days ago was told I had bronchitis and asthma Got z pack and prednisone and prednisone shot. Not any better - now slight cough, headache, congestion, dizzy and flushed and at night wake up all sweaty.
(I have lots of sinus infections, have had surgery on my sinuses, etc.) Doc gave me a z-pack and prednisone. Suggested I try Claritin or zyrtec to see if allergies are triggering all of this. Claritin is helping a lot with the post nasal drip, but now the junk in my chest seems tight and I have a dry, unproductive cough. Should I try mucinex to loosen up the chest and continue with Claritin?
I rested as I could, was feeling so I'll that I missed all the Thanksgiving festivities, went to instacare the day after Thanksgiving. Diagnosed with sinus infection, given a z-pack and sent on my way. By Monday the z-pack was almost gone, my sinus problems cleated up, but my cough was worse. So back to instacare. Given a high step down dose of prednisone (400 mg/3 days, 300 mg/ 3 days, etc) and an albuterol inhaler. One week later I was just getting worse so I saw my doctor.
Is it just an immune response? Any suggestions? I am always put on a z-pack and/or Prednisone to help me out, and it usually becomes better after a week or so ..
I was admitted to the hospital due to chest pain and shortness of breathe. They did all the tests for cardiac and all is good. My bloodwork came back and white count was 13000 times over? I was near a toxic fire on Feb 3 at work and did inhale some smoke, not enough at the time to hurt, so I thought. Since then I have had a sinus infection that went to bronchitis again. My doctor put me on cefdinir 300 mg capsule (2) once daily. I was also put on the "z" pack.
Nexium should be taken for Gerd, the Jab you had below your breast may be from Gerd. z-pack antibiotic for a the esophagus problems in case its infected, Prednisone for immflamtion in the airways an breathing problems! Gurgling sounds you say having, sounds like wheezing if so Albuterol Inhaler and Symbicort Inhaler for Wheezing.
Hello, So I went to the doctor cause I thought I was getting pneumonia and the Doc had me do a PFT (which was low at 70 percent) and a blood O2 test (94 percent) and said that I had bronchitis and put me on some prednisone and a z-pack. After I finshed my meds I still felt the same. So I set up another appointment and right before I went in I started to feel better but my tests only showed I improved ten percent.
I went to my general doctor, and he said that I had a mild sinus infection. He gave me a z-pack. I took it and did not feel any better. So I went back, infection was gone but still had headache ( pressure). I was put on prednisone. Seem to help a little but still did not cure. Doc said I had estachuian tube dysfunction and it would get better with time. I waited about another week and went to an ENT. He put me on prednisone and also did a hearing test, ct scan, and mri.
CT scan, MRI and MRA all negative. Awaiting CT of sinuses. Prednisone, z-pack, Midrin, Ibuprofen nor Butalbital have helped.
Tried Prednisone, z-pack, Augmentin 875, Midrin, Ibuprofen, Butalbital, Nortriptolyne, steroid and Lidocaine-Steroid shot, and nothing helps. I have been checked for temporal arteritis, sinusitis, and TMJ. I am now being told it's just chronic daily headaches and to keep trying different meds. Would chronic daily headaches actually cause a tender spot in the back of head that radiates pressure build-up? What else could be the cause of this?
I do not know if there is a link or not, but this all started - 4 days after I completed the z-pack prescription for strep throat. My wife has also been sick around the same time with strep pneumonia in her sinuses.
he was treated with a z pack, prednisone and tylenol 3, felt better after 2 or 2.5 weeks...then now as of three days ago his same symptoms occured fever up to 104,,it comes n goes but never less than 100 unless on tylenol or motrin Dr yesterday did not draw blood but put Brandon on exact same meds...my sons immune system seems so weak, he has lost about 10 lbs and hes a thin boy anyways..
I went to my allergist in January when I was very tired and had an ear ache and he prescribed a z-pack. At the time I had constant fluid in my throat - In retrospect it would seem that it was post nasal drip when I drank and gastric fluids when I ate. The ear was still bothering me with a marked hearing loss in April and he prescribed 5 days prednisone and told me to use my Rhinochort.
four weeks after being stuck with a bloody needle my doctor put me on z-pack (azithromycin) antibiotics and gave me two decadron shots. Will being on a antibiotic delay the production of HIV antibodies. will two 4gm shots of decadron delay the production of HIV antibodies. also at nine weeks i have another rapid test conducted and that too was negative. how reliable and accurate are these results. do you think my twelve week test will change. how many people will convert at nine weeks.

) Im currently 10 days late for my period And my last period only lasted for four days But I'm coming up with negative test results And I was wondering if it was possible that since I came down with bronchitis (I have 2 more days on my z pack n prednisone and 10 more on the inhaler) if me being sick made me skip ?
On Jan 18th I went to urgent care and they told me I had a sinus infection and it looked like my ear drum was going to burst. They told me to take mucinex-d, z-pak, and medol 4mg dose pack. 4 days later when I didn't feel better I went to the ER and they gave me a CT scan which didn't show a sinus infection but they put me on Omnicef and gave me tramadol for pain (which doesn't help) when the neosynephrine didn't help. They told me I needed to see an ENT.
I called my gynecologist and she prescribed me something called the z pack. I started taking it that day. May 14th all of the cultures and blood that the hospital and my gynecologist took came back negative for any STDs or HSV1 or HSV 2. May 15th I saw my dermatologist who guessed that it might be Behcet's. She prescribed me prednisone and a topical cream for the ulcers. May 16th the genital ulcers disappeared before I even got the prescriptions filled.

then i caught a cold and i had bronchitis again...got a z pack again and more prednisone...i still cant get a full breath of air..its like i have to sigh every couple of breaths or yawn to make my lungs feel full..the right side of my chest always feels heavy and it hurts at times..i dont know if its from the coughing or something else...went to the doctor again today..had a spirometer test done..he it twice .,..one regular..and one after giving me a puff of some inhaler...
My is a pharmacist who decided to take a look at my throat for me telling me my tonsils were red and swollen, she got a me a refill of her z pack that i took for the full course (with no relief). With that said i went to a first med clinic in my neighborhood because it was sunday afternoon and no other doctors were available.
and she gave me steroids first to try to open the airway and let it run its course. Then she gave me z-pack (which Im told stays in your system for up to 10 days). That was done as of last friday. I do have a prescription for an inhaler in case all of the others dont work. The NP I saw basically said it can hang on for months and not much she can do. I need to sleep and I need to stop. With my job I need to be able to be on the phone and I need to work. I cant seem to when all I do is cough.
I had then been told that my issue was now Bronchitis...this time they prescribed me z-pack. I thought...GREATTTTT?!?! When is this vicious cycle going to end...I get married on 11/11/11!!! So, I took this faithfully until the last dosing...but this time around I had already discontinued the Celexa & the Ativan. (there is a totally different and LOOONG story behind the reasons for me stopping this...which I may need to get into on another thread).
Since you have taken z-pack (azithromiacin) for so long without it helping, you probably have an infection that is resistant to that antibiotic. You may want to request Levaquin or Biaxin next time. Biaxin taken long term can be very beneficial for some astmatics. There are several threads about taking clarithromyacin (generic Biaxin) to "cure" asthma. You may want to read those for more information on the type of asthma that treatment is very effective for.
I was given antibiotics (for 5 days-it was called z-pack). Would this have made another infection worse, if it was the kind that needed longer antibiotic treatment? (Like Lyme Disease, or H.PYLORI). I wa also given prednisone. Would this suppress the immune system so an infection could get worse? I HAVE H.PYLORI THAT I DIAGNOSED MYSELF, BY ASKING TO BE TESTED FOR IT. Te antibiotics did not help, and now the doctor will not re-test me to see if I still have it.
Prednisone, Phenergan, Vicodin, Areosol Inhaler, and a z-pack. So I am trying to feel better. The on call nurse told me that if I at all have trouble breathing to go back to the hospital. Dang, with all this medicine that I am on. I feel extremely weird. I just sit here and stare at the screen. Am I suppost to feel weird from that medicine?
