I have hair loss way before prednisone. Hair loss is a system of Lupus. 25% of people with Lupus get some hair loss.

I take Topamax and Jut finished a round a steroids. I have noticed some increased hair loss, but I have had issues with hair loss before, so I'm not sure if it was from the round of steroids, the MS itself or what. I also have Poly Ovarian Syndrome. So I'm kind of just a big mess.

After about 3 days, I had no irritation or hair loss. I visited my general physician and he advised me to stop the prednisone at this time. I did. Since then my hair loss, photosensitivity, and pain were increasing daily. About three days ago i was again really photosensitive, pins in scalp, hair loss, oily hair. My scalp was just plain swollen.

neoral definitely is associated with this type of hair growth. the hair loss is probably related to telogen effluvium, which can occur this time post-transplantation.

My vet is having me increase her prednisone. My concern is that the hair loss, itching, etc. is a result of these 2 medications being taking for 3 years now and that this is the start of something else caused by these 2 medications. Any thoughts/ideas/input would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes they give oral prednisone to speed recovery. The type of hair loss from this med IS reversible. How is your hair pattern looking now, a couple of months later?

t think the prednisone or Imuran is working. (I personally just want off of the prednisone, it has done nothing and it is affecting my weight loss and I want off NOW!) I also think that going to the higher dose of Imuran might be a waste of time and maybe we should just switch to the methotrexate now. I was the one that made the doctor up the Imuran after all the months because it wasn't working because I want results and I want him to be more proactive.

When I was in withdrawal my hair would definitely fall out in worrying amounts.

interferon and riba ten days later all due to DRESS (severe drug reaction). Trailing off prednisone now after four weeks. My impression here is that hair loss can continue after tx stops. For those who have been through it, how long did it fall out? How long post-tx did it take to grow back? If my hairline gets any higher, they will be able to use my forehead as a seawall in New Jersey. Thanks in advance for your insights.

Hello, I had an allergic reaction to an unknown substance two weeks ago, and was given a taper regime of Prednisone, after my visit to the ER. The first 5 days I took 60mg, the next 5 I took 40mg, and the last 5 days 20 mg. Tomorrow is my last day/pill. This is my first time taking Prednisone and I have had a TERRIBLE experience on this drug!

Even after months pre and post treatment of Synthroid and prednisone...I am still experiencing severe hair loss. When I was between 30-40 mg my symptoms were severe, with profound vision changes (had to use a magnifying glass) increased urination / thirst, hair loss, moon face, Cushingoid fat deposition, hot flashes and sweating spells and a couple of blood glucose levels over 200. Currently body temperature has decreased to 97.7 and on 50mg of Januvia/day my blood sugars are running ~135. When I questioned my doctor he said he was offended by my questions and will not see me.

I was given a shot of prednisone. then 5 mg of prednisone. 5 pills the first day, titrate to one in 5 days. Along with 2 benadryls every 6 hours and zyrtec. The rash went down a lil. im going to be having a fess surgery and my dr prescribed prednisone on july 1,08 4 pills a day for 4 days and then cut back by 1 pill a day,but it makes me so nervous because i have bad anxiety he said i could take a half a dose so i have been taking 2 tablets aday today is my 4 thr day im wondering how i will tapeer off that cant reach dr till monday my surgery is wed.

I have UC and have been on remicade and prednisone. After being on prednisone for a few months, my hair started falling out and thinning. I had really this hair that I always hated, and now its so thin its gross, to me, at least. Most people cant even tell because they don't know what I looked like before. I have been told by multiple drs that after I am off the prednisone, the effects should reverse itself. Unfortunately, I do not know any other way to get your hair to grow back.
