Avatar f tn He is understandably feeling a bit week but is also having dizzy spells and he looks like grey and tired. Are there side effects from receiving such a shock? While he was in hospital he looked well and pink but it is only since he came out that he has looked worse. I think the pain around his middle is getting him down. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn s manifests as extremely dry eyes, mouth, sinuses, skin, etc. Muscle soreness/spasms may also be a part of it. http://www.sjogrens.org/home/about-sjogrens-syndrome/symptoms Have you moved to a new region recently? Every time we've moved, I experience severe allergic reactions to whatever local "beasties" are in the air, usually for about a year until my immune system adjusts to them. Second, RA can cause inflammation inside your eyes. This is called iritis or uveitis.
980510 tn?1282010946 I've taken Prednisone for years with no side effects, so I can't answer on a personal level, but if your neuro told you to stop it if you got any of the listed side effects, then I HIGHLY recommend that you stop taking it, and CALL HIM IMMEDIATELY and let him know what your reactions were. It'll help him treat your condition better.
Avatar f tn I have chronic osteoarthritis through my whole body including my spine, plus other bone abnormalities. I have had chronic pain since I was 12 (18 yrs ago). Doctors have never taken my pain seriously until recently when I was properly diagnosed. I am now on Endep, Lyrica and Gabapentin which together helps with all my nerve pain. But even strong pain killers didn't help with my joint and back inflammation.
Avatar n tn I've noticed that after 3 months of daily prednisone that I have developed hair on my upper lip and jaw line. Has anyone else experienced side effects like this? I don't see how it will go away on it's own. How do you treat unwanted facial hair? This is quite upsetting to me. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Mild problems: • soreness, redness, tenderness, or swelling where the shot was given • fainting (mainly adolescents) • headache, muscle aches • fever • nausea If these problems occur, they usually begin soon after the shot and last 1-2 days. Severe problems: • Life-threatening allergic reactions to vaccines are very rare. If they do occur, it is usually within a few minutes to a few hours after the shot. If the reaction is severe: What should I look for?
Avatar f tn The fatigue is ridiculous, if I do anything strenuous or if I have a very busy day I pay for it for two days afterwards, and I have muscle soreness especially in my upper back and thighs that is almost continuous, and my face broke out like I was 13 again. Is this something that gets better the longer you are on it? I understand the purpose of doing the infusions from the "cellular" level but I did not anticipate feeling so much worse on it than I did before.

Avatar f tn Prednisone is a very, very powerful drug, so good and bad side effects. It shuts down your own adrenal system at anything over 5-7 mg a day I believe it is, so a whole bunch of psychiatric side effects are possible. Myself I was revved up, lots of energy, very out of it though and then horrible anxiety when they tried to taper me off - really painful. So welcome to the loonie club and we can all support each other....
Avatar f tn ) totally different from the underlying symptoms necessitating the procedures, a localized back irritation and buzzing and numbness, tingling, and weakness in my right foot and ankle. The new side effects (occurring mainly at night, or when I am fatigued) are a buzzing, throbbling, vibrating, electrical feelings in both legs with resulting exhausted and muscle soreness the next day.
Avatar f tn I agree with you - I also hate prednisone!! It does work wonders for many things, but it sure does have a lot of nasty side effects too. I've been on it many, many times in my lifetime and quite often at very high doses - my highest being 120 mg daily (yes, I did say 120!!). I hope the decrease you made was under the guidance of your doctor.
877337 tn?1249844450 I also have Graves, and just a heads up, I had RAI and not sure what is to blame, the thyroid or the treatment, but I am anemic and have very low Vitamin d levels, all of which cause muscle soreness. I took a heavy dose of D and iron and the soreness is going away, although my levels are finally getting back to normal also. This has been since october, that is when I had the RAI. Have your vitamin levels and iron checked, hope this helps.

446896 tn?1237802742 I usually have anxiety, but the last 14 days I have had unbelievable restlessness, panic, insomnia, severe heart palpitations/tachycardia, face swelling, etc. I have spoken to my nurse and two pharmacists who say that these are indeed side effects of prednisone, and that they should get better once I stop the medication. However, I have heard from others that these side effects sometimes persist after the medication is stopped.
