I was recently diagnosed with adrenal insufficiancy and have been on prednisone 10mg and florinef .01mg 3 x's per day and I was wondering what happens if you get the stomach flu and are unable to take these meds by mouth? will you have to go in daily for steroid shots or a picc line and do them at home?

Hi! I have adrendal insufficiency, along with hypothyroidism and diabetes insipidus, due to a brain tumor I had when I was 12. I have tried three different steroids to get my energy level up. I've been on prednisone, dexamethasone, and hydrocortisone and none of them work!

My question is given the fact that I used anabolic steroids for 3-4 years (mostly winstrol oral, trenbolone acetate injectable, stanozolol injectable, testosterone injectable, and several prohormones which are precursors to anabolic steroids once converted by the liver) does this mean i have to wait longer to test conclusively for hiv?

It sounds like some type of fat or tissue necrosis at the injection site. I know it can happen but don't know if the exact mechanism or cause is known. Would you mind saying which DMD are you taking and if you inject into the muscle or the subcutaneous fat? Have you been able to continue your injectable therapy? I don't think there are usually signs that a person might have this kind of reaction. It can happen randomly with no problems before or repeats ever again.

problem is , i had a severe reaction in hospital when they gave me prednisone not sure how much they gave me but i went from my normal self to someone no one reconized.i wanted to kill someone..i was severley aggressive which is nothing like me.my question is ...would it be possible to have the same reaction to cortisone..has me concerned.when admitted to hospital and they say they are going to give me prednisone i apoligize first for what i will say later...

I get this itchy red rash when i sweat, and I get hives when i sweat in the water. Claritin does not help, and I refused to take Prednisone from my doctor (for many reasons). Ive traveled to a lot of tropical places, so i took a natural anti-parasite medication, but it did not help. Is there a correlation between urticaria and a yeast overload? Also, where should i go next to try and relieve this problem? Thanks!

I have been required to be on prednisone for a month and a half - first as 500mg injectable forms x three days and then at 50 mg for 7 days then 40 for 7 days and so on until I taper through the month until I'm at 5mg for 7 days then stop. Is this a too short taper? Has anyone else experienced this?

If the lesions progress, you could go to the ER or consult your doctor - you would then need injectable antiallergic and steroid medications for your symptoms. The doctor at the clinic I go to (he is a GP, have not been able to see a rheumatologist yet) started me on 60mg/day of Prednisone roughly 3 months ago. After about a month he told me to reduce to 40mg/day. I did that, and then as I was starting to experience more and more side effects - and didn't have another appointment with my doctor for almost two months - I took it upon myself to taper down to 20mg/day.

hey I understand exactly how you feel, I asked for the same thing...since I have PPMS I though a lower dose of Prednisone might help with pain, off balance, leg weakness etc.. I was told NO... it's not a good thing to be on... and that was the end of the discussion?? I know it's not good for you to be on it along time, someone in my family is on it for RA and takes it daily in lower doses... but need to go off it at times too. I don't know...guess we must wait and see..

What is the effect of sudden discontinuation of steroid pill prednisone 20 mg per day tablet after taking it for 4-5 months.

I was just wondering if anyone has had hair loss after being on Prednisone a while. I have been on and off of it for a year now, mostly on it, anywhere from 20mg. to 5 mg. daily. Just in the last month or so I have noticed more hair on the shower floor and in my hair brush. I don't know if it's the Lupus or the Prednisone. Maybe there's no way to tell. i am on prednisone and verapamil for my migraines. been on them for fifteen days. today my cheeks started to swell and feel painful. its hard to open my mouth and drink could this be b/c of the the prednisone? im calling the dr tomorrow morning.
