prednisone for low back pain

I called my doc, and he said some people reported back pain with the Prednisone and Zithromax combo so he is having me take a low dose 200mg of Alieve to see if it takes the pain away. If the pain doesn't go away or lower in intensity then I have to go to L&D, we are trying to rule out back labor/side effects of my meds. This is also my 4th child, I never really noticed dropping in my pregnancies before, and I have noticed it this time around.

The entire time I had a low grade fever. On the 25th I few to Vegas. While there I developed low back pain, continued low grade fever and pain with eye movement. On 3/28, while flying home my fever spiked at 101.6 and I had the chills. Got home, took my pill and went to bed. I woke at 1am with rigors and was FREEZING! Didn't take my temp but got another blaknet for the bed and went to sleep. On 3/30 I woke still feverish and slightly chilled.

Been on all these meds for between 5 and 8 years, except the Bentyl, which I have taken for 30 years. I was on prednisone for a year back in 2005, had some cortisone injections a few years ago after a neck injury, but nothing in the past 2 years. I have my cholesterol, glucose and triglyceride levels checked every six months, they are within normal ranged. My diet doesn't include a lot of junk, lots of chicken, seafood, salads, fruits, dairy. I avoid red meat and fried foods.

I was rear-ended in an auto accident a month ago, and since then have had stabbing/burning pain in my right low back, with pain and aching down into the backside of my right thigh and calf. Can't sit for too long, car rides really bother me. I'm not sure if the MRI findings indicate injury related issues, or just degenerative issues. Help! Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

m really scared - could anyone who has taken this medication for this condition give me any advice? Did it seem to help? How long were you one the prednisone? I'm already obese and am really worried about the weight gain from prednisone. I'm hoping that I won't be on this medication long.

My almost 9 year old collie has been diagnosed about 6 months ago with having Lupus. and she is on a very low dose of Prednisone, which has been helping. But sometimes it seems like she is just uncomfortable and I don't know what to do, I feel so bad for her.

Ok so I went off of iv steroids and now have 2 weeks of prednisone to take and this is my 2nd day. I feel a crawling sensation on left side of face. I feel like the tip of my tongue in tingly, I am seeing stars every now and then and some stomach pain. Just need reassurance this is normal? I thought I was supposed to have energy but it 5pm and I'm tired. I dont like this feeling.

I have had tinnitus and vertigo for many years. 7 years ago I was put on prednisone for myalgia pain. My pain went away but it had no affect on my hearing. It did affect my belly....it bloated out like a pregnant woman...lol...I got off prednisone back in january of this year. If you can avoid it then avoid it. If you need it for other reasons and not for hearing then I guess you have to continue taking it until it does not good for you.

I was put on a course of prednisone. Soothed the pain at the higher doses then came back as I weened myself off the prednisone. (Also, I completely lost my appetite and lost 10 lbs.) My GP was concerned that the pain was low down and in the area of the thyroid. He did a TSH which came back at 0.007. I have since had another test done to determine T3, T4 & thyroid antibodies but because my GP is on holidays for 2 weeks (as it is Christmas/summer holiday period here in Australia) I don't yet have the results. I started with 40 mg or two weeks,then 30 for a week,then 20 for a week,then 10 for a week,then 5 for two weeks.Then 2.5 for two weeks.Then stopped.The low grade fever went a way after restarting prednisone. My other symptoms also improved.I experience no problem while tapering prednisone until I reach 5 mg.The low grade fever as well as my neck pain started to return.I can not touch my neck as it will be very painful.

You could try calcium supplements for your back and neck pain. Also, some mild pain killers like Tylenol (acetaminophen) may help. Ensure to take them after food. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Recently I was admitted into Hospital with severe abdominal pains and weight loss. I also started having lower back pain that acts up mostly at night. The back pain is so bad that I have trouble walking and sleeping. My GI has run all the test and found nothing and is not sure if it is related to the UC however when the back pain gets the area of my colitis also flares up. Does anyone know if this back pain can be associated with the Colitis? Or has anyone had this symptom before?

I too think that I may have Lupus because I often get a butterfly rash on my face and I read that was a sign of Lupus and I am no expert so maybe I don't know, plus my doc said it wasn't Lupus but I'm starting to second guess him. I told my doctor about my stabbing pain when I take a deep breath and he witnessed the pain it causes me first hand but he wasn't too concerned and I haven't had that pain since I was put on Prednisone. Thinking maybe I need to get a second opinon.

ago with postviral pericarditis (classic symptoms of sternal, left sided chest pain with inspiration, position changes, low grade fever, on/off neck pain that radiates into left shoulder blade). ER prescribed Prednisone burst of 40 mg. x 4 days. Symptoms returned following week and was Rx Colchicine for 1 wk. due to NSAID allergy. Echo after tx with Prednisone was normal without any signs of effusion. EKG's, CXR and CT of chest WNL.

Does anyone know if HCV patients can take prednisone for low platelets? I didn't think to ask my doctor about that. I have never treated and was just informed that I am not eligible for any clinical trials because my platelets are too low. I am Geno 1A, stage 2+ (last platelet count 79,000). This cause the pain to come back. I decided I would just take advil and wait for the pain to go away but after 3 months it was still with me. I went to a second doctor who prescribed dexilant for the acid reflux I was experience after taking ibuprofen for the past few months. He told me to come back if it the pain didnt go away after 4 days. After another couple of weeks I went to a third doctor. He did a cbc blood test h pylori blood test and took a couple of x rays.
