prednisone for felines

Where did you see that rose petals are poisonous to felines? Every site I have looked at for plants poinsonous to cats has never mentioned rose petals so I assumed that they were okay. They are one of the edible flowers for humans. Thanks for caring enough to respond.

t say for sure, most plants are safe. find a website on poisonous plants for felines, google that and see what they say. does someone else on here know?

Feels like rice crispy pops in my head or ears on top of my head and side headaches with pressure. Throat feels like it is in dormant with on/off flare ups. Could it be a parasite in the brain. No medication has worked if it is a deep congestion issue.

I also have panhypopituitarism. I have been on 5mg of prednisone since my dx in 96. I have been doing some research and am interested in finding out more about constant subcutaneous infusion of hydrocortisone. My days start off OK but by 5pm I am very fatigued.

Yes, it is normal. It is instinct to eat the dead babies and those that are not 'normal' so to speak. It is a survival technique. Felines are not the only species that do this. Most carnivorous and omnivor species do this, even some heravores such as rabbits. Don't panic, it's a natural instinct. Not all cats will do this, but most do.

I like both, but I prefer to keep a cat for my one pet policy apartment. I've always been drawn more to cats for some reason even as a kid. But, I grew up with both, so I definitely do like dogs. I just don't want to keep one as my own.

I took 10mg prednisone and then I'm coming down now with fever- the flagyl maybe didn't work completely for this possible amoeba infection EH

Thank you and sorry for the shock as it was for me. I checked my blood work and STD and all was negative. Toxoplasmosis and mono was negative.

I have had tinnitus and vertigo for many years. 7 years ago I was put on prednisone for myalgia pain. My pain went away but it had no affect on my hearing. It did affect my belly....it bloated out like a pregnant woman...lol...I got off prednisone back in january of this year. If you can avoid it then avoid it. If you need it for other reasons and not for hearing then I guess you have to continue taking it until it does not good for you.

In crackling noises in the lungs point to fluid in the lungs. Any lung or upper respiratory problems in felines progress rapidly and can do serious damage. Again, please take to the vet.

I went to Doctor today and he put me on prednisone for the week. I am supposed to do 40mg for 2 days, 30 for 2 days, 20 for 2 days, and 1 for 2 days. I took my first dose today and wonder how long it takes for it to work? I still don't feel great which could also be the cold I suppose. Who gets a cold in the summer anyway? Awful.

Hopefully not. Prednisone, by the way, is a steroid. It reduces the inflammation and selling and that's why they gave it to you. It's not an antibiotic that works on bacteria or anything. Take your current medication as directed. Why do they think you are getting so many sore throats that are not viral?

my 9 year old dog has been on prednisone for 6 weeks for ITP and we are weaning her off now.

The total cost of finding out what is wrong is as follows - blood work $550 check-up $130 Endoscopy $1000 Feces test $300...This is outrageous. I wanted to get insurance but he now has pre-existing illness.
