Are you under the care of a pulmonary specialist. Also other comorbid conditions can aggravate the asthma, such sinusitis, GERD and unknown allergies. You really should be tested for allergies, if you haven't already. GERD can be silent and produce a cough as it's only symptom. If another cause can't be found then an increase in inhalers is a good idea. How many puffs/day of your Symbicort do you use? You can use safely up to 8 puffs/day.
Prednisone is NOT an antibiotic, you can't just go giving any medication without even knowing what you are treating....prednisone use in cats often leads to diabetes.

s considerably stronger than just Prednisone, even at the same dosage (as I learned a few weeks ago when we had quite a discussion here about this). So you've had much more of this than you'd thought. The side effects are pretty similar for both substances though, and Prenisone is a big component of IVSM.
Did you have bad side effects with the IV? If so, you won't necessarily have them with the oral Pred, given the much lower dosage.
Is there anything i can do or take to counterbalance that situation?I should finish that prednisone treatment in 5 weeks....How long it takes to recover a normal face after that treatment????Thanks...

I have been put on Cellcept and Prednisone. They are going to wein me off of the Prednisone once I am up to the highest dosage of Cellcept which is 2000mg a day. I am starting at 500mg for 5 days, then 1000mg for 5 days, blood work, and then 2000mg.

I'm off the 5 mcg cytomel now , because I'm not tired , just pain. Increasing from 100 to 112 Levo.
going to increase until I feel better every 4-6 weeks
But rheumy now has me on prednisone 40 mcg a day. I assume if I i feel better in a few weeks it's the prednisone suppressing a possible diagnosis for MCTD. If not , I will keep increasing the levo, and check the ft4 and Ft3.

I am now on 10 mg of Prednisone. I have been on that dosage for 6 years now, and the medication is not treating my body very nicely with weakened joints that ache, bad bruising on my arms and legs, weight gain, and a host of other problems that go with the steroid use. One of the best things for the E/N is the application of a topical steroid, Lydex cream. If I get a flare up of the E/N, a couple of applications will knock it back down.
When the flare ups start my GI specialist puts me on prednisone at a high dose and every week I taper off. While on the high dose of prednisone I feel much better but as the dosage decreases the flare up start.
Recently I was admitted into Hospital with severe abdominal pains and weight loss. I also started having lower back pain that acts up mostly at night. The back pain is so bad that I have trouble walking and sleeping.

This made a huge difference but, once the prednisone wore off the rash back full force. I returned to my doctor and was prescribed Prednisone for longer and a higher yet decreasing dosage over 7 days. Sure enough, the rash dried out and healed, itching subsided until about 2 days after finishing the course of Predisone. Now, im itching again and the rash is returning! it's like if I'm off Prednisone it will come back but, i cant keep taking prednisone over and over. What's going on?

The reason is that in a small amount of cases it has caused swelling of the brain. If you look at the label on cough syrup for children, even those typically recommend for age 6 and up (at least the brands I have seen.)
When my 2 1/2 year old has a cold with a cough I give him milk slightly warmed with honey in it. I have also given him a teaspoon of honey on it's own. It works extremely well.
In October 2008, I was put on 60mg of Prednisone after liver biopsy revealed a rapid progression from an earlier biopsy, I now had non-alcoholic cirrhosis. In March 2009 at the Mayo Clinic I was diagnosed with AIH (autoimmune hepatitis) with non-alcoholic cirrhosis. I was placed on 50mg of Imuran, which was adjusted to 100mg and my Prednisone was gradually reduced 10mg. In September 2010 my Prednisone was being reduced by 2.5 every 6 weeks.
