Avatar m tn The rash is typically on my upper cheeks, 1/2 and inch or so below my bottom lip, sometimes and my jaw, and sometimes on my forehead. It seems to be triggered by almost everything. If I ever sleep anywhere other than my house I will surely get it. I also get it from swimming, being in nature (mountain biking and hiking). Being in the sun irritates it. Water makes my skin feel constricted. I also can't wash my face, because that triggers it also.
Avatar f tn I have had high ESR and CRP, low iron, elevated liver enzymes etc and have responded to prednisone but need an official diagnosis. What would rosacea histopathology show up as? I'm heading towards another biopsy but if the one I had done for the sun spot is sufficient I won't.
20851793 tn?1537398597 I have huge red cystic acne all over my chin, cheeks, and my face hurts. My doctor gave me prednisone today, so I am hoping that helps. I have rosacea as well, and I see even more red than before. I was told you should not drink while on those these prescriptions but a little is ok, unless binging you should just skip a dose... is there a way around this? I do enjoy my happy hours? Why does it take so long for accutane to work? Why did this happen? I just want my face clear again?
Avatar n tn 05% desonide for two weeks and a three week course of prednisone and it has not cleared. When I was taking prednisone and moisturizing liberally it seemed to be getting better but when i worked over the weekend and was only able to to moisturize at night it went back to the same as before. After finishing my prednisone course i have been moisturizing liberally with no results. Im looking for a second opinion as to what this is and how i can clear it?

Avatar m tn Hello, I went to the dermatologist a few months ago with a red face and slight acne on my forehead. She immediately said it was rosacea and prescribed me Rhofade. It was expensive and eventually hurt more than it helped. So, I went back and she prescribed me Soolantra. That seemed to have worked for a couple of days. Now, my face is back to being completely red and burning. I'm used to blushing easily, but this occurs even when I'm sitting at home. It's constant.
Avatar f tn An ophthalmologist has his/her education and special instruments. Rosacea usually has a rash on forehead, cheeks, nose and eyelids.
Avatar n tn The facial left me uneven ugly texture on my cheeks, some scars, enlarged pores on my cheeks in places i never had before and rosacea which i did not have prior to the facial. My question is whether i will be able to correct these texture problems and scars in the future with fraxel or would fraxel make my skin worse since i now have rosacia.
Avatar n tn It does not occur anywhere except the area of my chest that is normally seen through a neckline opening and across my nose and a little bit of my cheeks. I am 50 years old but still have oily skin. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn However, within about six months, I noticed a thickening of the skin on my cheeks near the sides of my nose- which the dermatologist diagnosed as Rosacea. It is irreversible and I am crushed. My Clarisonic is put away, and I am never going to clean my face with anything other than mild cleanser and my fingers. The doc specifically said that any friction at all, even soft brushes, can bring on Rosacea.
Avatar n tn The bumps are like little pimples and are rough and dry. My face has general redness over the nose and cheeks (I look like I have constant sunburn). A friend thinks I may have rosacea. The symptoms I experience have not bothered me. There's no pain, itchiness, etc. But I'm wondering if there's need to worry?
Avatar m tn I had seborrheic dermatitis for 7 years now and because of that i had to use Corticosteroid , but unfortunately i did not know about the side effects of that and i used it on the scalp and bear for many years , now that i am 31 i was diagnosed with rosacea, i was wondering can this be steroid induce rosacea and if yes would it go away.
Avatar f tn Slight visable blood vessels. Thinking rosacea but could be wrong? Tried azelaic acid but doesnt seem to be working.
Avatar m tn You may have better luck reducing foods that are inflammatory, such as sugar and grains and reduce sugary drinks. Tea tree oil may help. Google rosacea and see what other say. I think it can be related to celiac disease.
Avatar f tn If a person develops rosacea from the use of steroids and discontinues topical steroids.... uses prescribed medications to clear their skin..... do they still have rosacea and have to be careful of triggers such as certain foods? One would think that if one eliminates the source that provoked the rosacea,,,, then it is not truly rosacea ..Any info on this....
Avatar n tn ), weather changes, sun exposure, exercise, alcohol consumption, emotional upsets, and spicy food may trigger blushing and aggravate rosacea. The symptoms of rosacea generally tend to come and go. The skin may be clear for weeks, months, or years and then erupt again. Rosacea generally lasts for years. The medications that you are receiving are alright for the condition and you would definitely see some benefit with these.
Avatar n tn I have hypothyroidism and rosacea. My doc started me on levoxyl about 3 years ago. Within about 2 months, I was diagnosed with Rosacea. I finally made the connection about 1 year ago that maybe it was the levoxyl making my face so red, so I stopped taking it. And sure enough my face stopped being so red. But, I really need the thyroid meds so my doc had me take synthroid, this made my face red again with little bumps this time.
Avatar n tn I am a black woman who was diagnosed with rosacea and I think I also have hypothyroidism but my doctor will not diagnose the thyroid condition. My question is can blacks get rosacea and is rosacea a symptom of hypothyroidism?
Avatar f tn I have had two prescription creams from the doctor, one for seborrheic dermatitis and one for rosacea, both made my skin feel tight and more dry. I have tried everything under the sun in the way of creams and am currently using Liz Earle for dry/sensitive skin. I have also tried vitamin e oil on my face which works for a few days then stops.
Avatar m tn Your description does indeed sound like rosacea, and I was diagnosed with it when 27. But you also describe what might be some other conditions. Acne and seboric dermatitis can also occur with it. Plus you might have an infection; I once had a staph infection on my nose. Infections on the face are serious. Rosacea can also affect the eyes (ocular rosacea), so a visit to your family doctor can help you coordinate the care.
