In many cases this protocol will hold you for an entire day without use of prednisone. If you are on prednisone and cannot breathe without it, you cannot stop without an alternative plan in place.
It has moved from my toe to my elbow and REALLY hurts. The doc gave me a shot of prednisone and a pack of pills with 1 less per day for a week. My question is I think prednisone is an immunosupprecent and IFN is the opposite, so are the two drugs working against each other? Idon't want to jepordise my treatment but I don,t think I could handle the pain for another 10 weeks. Vicoden didn't help at all. Don't have to touch it , just look a little too hard at it really makes it hurt.
When I was first diagnosed with Sarcoidosis, the doctor put me on Prednisone and it went into remission. In the past month I have been having trouble breathing so my doctor put me back on them for 1 month. I think I have 3 days left. Question is.. Does prednisone help with fibromyalgia too?
I dont know where to post this but I had a really bad case of tonsilitis with sever swelling. my doc prescribed me prednisone 6 days pack and amoxicillin and 2 days into boh the medications i broke out in a rash. They immediately made me stop taking both medications and said since my symptoms were viral they didnt need to put me on any different kinds of medicine and to just stop with everthing I was taking before.
I am glad that there is something they feel can help and that I don't need to go on Prednisone as I took way too much of that back when I had ulcerative colitis. I am hoping and praying that this drug will do the trick and start to relieve my pain and fatigue. I don't have copies of my blood work but will get them when I go back for my follow up in 8 weeks. Anyone out there who has this I welcome any advice you might have.

She had a epidural block during labor and had complained of upper thoracic pain the next day which persisted and which everyone including myself attributed to poor posture when breatsfeeding and back strain from pushing during delivery. Any reported cases you know of wet tap causing thoracic subdural hematomas? could this thoracice pain have been a spinal headache equivalent? She did have emergent drainage of the subdural hematoma in Jan 2000 at HUP.
I have been tested for RA and thyroid. Gave me a shot in joint of cortizone and I had bad reactions and still swollen and red. I went to ER Monday and they gave me Vicodin for pain. Has anyone else had similar symptons and still negative results on blood work for rhmeutoid arthritis? Any help would be appreciated. I have been to 5 doctors now. I have not worked for 2 months. Have checked my only kidney as well.
I saw a doctor yesterday that put me on Protonix and I'm not sure if that or the Motrin has eliminated the sternum/esophagus pain. I'm being referred to a pulmonary doctor and hope to see him/her this week. Any thoughts on how all of these pains can be connected? Most chest pain occurs on the left. I get pains in my shoulder, inner arm and left side of left breast as well.
The reason your ear infection might not have responded to amoxicillin is because many ear infections, especially adult ear infections, are caused by viruses (not HIV), common, everyday viruses. For this, your doctor could have prescribed Motrin for the pain or prednisone for the swelling associated with it, but the American Academy of Family Physicians recommends that antibiotics be withheld from adults with suspected ear infections.
Hi, I have SLE and was diagnosed in 99 and for the past month I've had numbness and tingling in my arms fingers, feet, legs that mostly bother me at night. Several times I have woke up and cannot move my whole left side. Which is scarey. Almost like I've had a stroke, but then the feeling does come back after a while and I have a heavy feeling sometimes in my arm for a while. Labs: Sed rate is always high,ANA as high as 1:1280.
I have been back to the doctors office 3 times in the last two weeks. Have been prescribed motrin and Flexeril which did nothing. Then I was prescribed Vicodin which takes the edge off, but the pain is still there, lastly Prednisone which has given me the most relief so far but is still a far cry from bearable pain. I had a MRI of my spine done this morning. I have also been experiencing tremors in my arm, shoulder and neck which don't hurt, but are felt.
) wants me to start taking meds for sjogrens (plaquenil, cel cept and prednisone). I am trying to find out more info. about these 3 drugs and possible side effects. I am not very good with taking meds (consistently) and I really don't like how many meds (including over the counter type stuff) makes me feel. I have to let the dr. know in the next 2 weeks if I plan to start any treatments for sjogrens. I am a little scared because of all the things that the dr. said sjogrens can cause.

You can try the magnesium. You need to be on prednisone for a few days. The drug is toxic and evil and causes cancer, but it eliminates inflamation in zero time, and you need to put the fire out around those nerve sheaths. After a few days on prednisone (which won't kill you) go to Motrin for a week or two. Once the inflammation goes down, rest can help. Of course you need a physician for the prednisone.
And if I tale Motrin I get really big blood clots. Out the butt. I'm currently taking prednisone because my rectum blow up like a balloon. And now my legs are killing me This discussion is related to <a href="/posts/Digestive-Disorders---Gastroenterology/numbness-and-tingling-in-hands--feet--arms--and-legs/show/231069">numbness and tingling in hands, feet, arms, and legs</a>.
We used the nebulizer, motrin, and the cool night air. They prescribed Prednisone for him on Friday. Friday night he was at the ER for an asthma flair up. His O2 was 93 on arrival and 95-96 when we left. They said his lungs sounded good, except for a slight wheeze on the upper right side. Sunday night we noticed he had mottled skin and seemed "breathed" with more than very light activity and we called the nurse who told us he would be fine, but should be seen Monday.
HE HAS HAD XRAYS OF BOTH AND THEY SHOW NOTHING. HIS PHYSIATRIST SEEMS STUMPED AND TOLD HIM TO GO TO AN OTHOPEDIC DOCTOR FOR AN MRI.HE CAN'T SLEEP AND IS ON CONSTANT PAIN MED AND IS NOT WANTING TO DO THERAPY BECAUSE IT HURTS SO MUCH. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS?
Is this ok to do with my current condition and medication? I know motrin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and prednisone is a steroidal anti-inflammatory so I am unsure about the combination especially since I have some GI bleeding.
I take prednisone 10 mg tablets 2 to 3 times a day for pain and stiffness due to a back injury. However, this regiment produces the unwanted side affect of raising my blood sugar level even while taking Metformin 1000mg twice a day and 50 units of insulin twice a day. Are there any substitutes or alternatives to prednisone that can be used for pain stiffness that doesn't adversely affect blood sugar?
The prednisone sounds like a good idea, I think I'm going to try and find an ENT and skip my GP for now. Also, I've seen some studies online that said a lot of sinus infections were fungal, which is why antibiotics don't help. I know my doctor says this is viral, but if it was viral it wouldn't have lasted 7 months!
I am afraid it can come back as I still get a little pulsing pain every now and then and well my nipple is finally back to being fully out! Don't lose hope ladies, sometimes just as it came it can leave.
He's been to the doc 3 times now. His tests all come back negative. So he is put on prednisone and antibiotics. He feels better and then a month or 2 later it comes back......
They sent me home with a diagnosis of Arthritis and a script for motrin and vicodin. There is no visible inflammation on my neck but the pain is unbeleivable! It seems to worsen when Im up moving around (as when my heart rate increases) its like i can feel my pulse in that area and its painful. I didnt know that arthritis in the neck would cause you to feel pain when your heart rate increases. Im terrified that they missed something in the tests they ran.
The first time I experienced the chest pain it lasted 4 days straight. I went to my dr and he prescribed Prednisone 50 mg once a day for 7 days. I am finding it doesn't help even for an hour or two. Seems it was a complete waste of my time. I know stress is a factor that can affect autoimmune diseases as well but it is really difficult to shut the nursing side of my brain up to all these symptoms and not get worked up, although I am trying along with support from my wonderful husband.
From the beginnig he has complained of muscle pain in his thighs and gluteals but responded to Motrin. The pain today is so bad he can barely walk and does not respond to the Tylenol. At one point the neurologist put him on Prednisone 60mgs with a quick taper down over 10 days. My father felt immediately better on day one and through the course of the Prednisone. The day he stopped the medication he was back to the terrible pain. A friend of his heard of NPH on T.V.
g that there was not injury to the valves or epicaridal arteries then he should place her on a regiment of prednisone to improve the inflammation and possibly decrease her pain. I would suggest and echocardiogram to assess her LV ejection fraction, valvular function and to evaluate her for the presence of an effusion.
Does anyone know what to do for pain,When you cant take pain meds, and your body is in constant pain. All the pain meds that really help for pain.Vicodin, darvacet, motrin, and oxycotin all these are very harmful to the liver. When you have auto immune hepatits just about every medicine is harmful to the liver. But the pain is unbearable. Can anyone help out there.
I am currently on motrin, icing and electric stimulation to try to reduce inflamed area. Progress is slow at best. Should I consult a chiropractor?
