Avatar f tn It has been over a month now and I am still recovering. My knee never lost all the swelling and pain increases with even mild activity; sitting with knee bent 90 degrees and driving (even getting in and out of the car) are everyday challenges. I am now going through physical therapy and pray this works. I have been told several things such as cortisone flare, bursitis, broken blood vessels or damage to the tendon but no conformation on any of these.
Avatar f tn We did a VERY fast taper on Prednisone (40 mg -4 days) the fifth day I ballooned particularly the face and knee. A week later Went in for my maintenance dose allergy shot and had a systemic reaction to it immediately ( first time). Something has my body hyper reactive - so I am wondering if I could be reacting to the stuff that is in my knee? The knee stays a little bit swollen and two tender spots but not red nor itchy. Grasping for straws....
Avatar m tn I have a sciatica pain on my back, hip And leg. what is easieat medication and should care about ?
Avatar f tn I tapered off the prednisone three weeks ago and the itching is back full force! I started having trouble with knee pain about two months after I started on Lialda. I thought it was the start of old age setting in (47) so I've been going to the chiropractor to get my knees adjusted. It usually helps for about a month, then the pain sets in again. I now believe Lialda is causing the knee pain. I'm have a doctor's appt. next Wednesday and I have a list of questions to be answered.
Avatar f tn About 2 months ago, after swimming at the YWCA, I developed a rash on my back and on the buttocks, and down the back of my legs. I went to my Dr, who put me on an antibiotic and prednisone. Within a week, it cleared some but never really went away, and yes, it was itchy. A month or so later, the rash came back, and I was put on prednisone again plus a cream. It cleared up. Now it's back again. I am suppose to have knee replacement surgery in a few days. What could this be?
Avatar f tn The dermatologist did a biopsy and diagnosed me with ERYTHEMA NODUSM, around November 2022 I started having very bad knee pain, to the point where I began to limp. I was given prednisone to help with the pain, meanwhile they figure out what’s causing it. Now it’s December 2022 and I am having joint pain in my knees, left elbow, and lower back. Ive had a CBC w/dif, ESR, INFLAMMATORY MARKERS,ANA W/dif, C-REACTIVE PROTEIN TESTS DONE in which everything came back normal.
Avatar m tn I just find it odd that I think back and I was put on prednisone before and my pain started shortly after. Then they have me more this yr actually yesterday and I took it and became a little hyper and then I started having the exact pain I had last ur when I started with all of this coincidence? I am not sure i am going to stop and see if the pain subsides and see what happens.

Avatar f tn Hi there, My first thought is that it's the sciatic nerve being pinched or irritated in some way. Before I had my hips replaced I had pain that would start in my, um, rear end, shoot down the back of my thigh, SKIP my knee area and continue down the back of my calf. After the hip surgery the sciatic pain disappeared. My guess is that the hip pain was altering the way I walked, sat, stood, etc, which can easily lead to pain elsewhere in the body.
Avatar n tn October 31st - 300Mg Neurontin November 1st – 600 Mg Neurontin November 2nd – 900 Mg Neurontin November 3rd – 900 Mg Neurontin November 4th – 900 Mg Neurontin November 4th, 2008 I went back to see my primary physician about the knee pain and now having more muscle tightness that was not improving and he recommended weaning off of the neurontin and gave me a prescription for prednisone. He also had me setup an appointment with one of the Internal Medicine doctors.
Avatar f tn I have been to alot of doctors and all of them say I have Arthritis. My rheumotologist was really funny. His comments were, if you are in pain SIT and when you feel good WALK. Actually that is what I do. I go in the pool 3X a week and stay at home the rest of the time. I am 73 years old and have had both knee's replaced. One knee still gives me pain and the dr says it's probably nerve damage and nothing can be done.
Avatar m tn I am 40 years old and moderate activity , The pain in the left knee is not severe but the pain in the right knee is . 785373 tn?1236328403 Oh and I forgot, Vicodin does work anymore, oxcydone does'nt work anymore either. alieve does nothing. There is this one type of pain that no medicine seems to take away.
4823849 tn?1373657829 Wow! A year of pain. Sounds like fun! So If I'm experiencing anything like your BF, then the pain is legit and I'm not crazy. This isn't "meh" pain - it's like I bend my knee and it feels like a nerve is being severed pain. I know these pills mess with your head so much, I'm sort of hoping it's more in my head and less in my joint. I guess I should probably tell the doctor how bad it is... I'm paranoid these days, you know? "What's wrong with me?
Avatar f tn Allergist said it was Prednisone taper (40 mg in 4 days) the fifth day I ballooned esp face and knee. Now I am allergic to tapes and this week had a first time immediate systemic allergic reaction to my maintenance dose allergy shots. Something has my body hyper reactive ....could it be the stuff in my knee just keeping it irritated? Ortho said no. Grasping for straws....
Avatar m tn At the age of 33, one day I was fine, healthy etc. Went to bed and the next morning woke up with excruciating pain deep inside my r/knee area. Couldn't get out of bed or walk. That was the start of my (disease)? Went to an orthopedist. Got cortisone injection, gave me anti-inflammatories, sent me home told me to rest. Pain never went away, but it subsided a bit. Pain flared up again after about a month, ortho referred me to rheumatologist. More anit-inflammatories for a while.
Avatar f tn I know that joint pain is a side effect of taxol, however, could this have caused the knee and back pain that i have been experiencing for the last four and a half years? I needed to be pre-medicated with benadryl and prednisone due to a reaction i had shortly after my first taxitier treatment. Does my body reacting adversely to the chemo in the first place cause more severe side effects? I'm curious to know because i have had lumbar pain and knee pain ever since my chemotherapy.
293157 tn?1285873439 I have often wondered if some of my shoulder, knee and hand pain might be from arthritis or bursitis. Maybe through all these other test, I will find out!! I can't answer the question about inflammation, just don't know the answer. Take care and let us know if the Prednisone works good for you.
Avatar f tn There can be neurologic and non-neurologic causes of hand and foot pain. Some causes of pain in the hands and feet are not neurologic. For example, arthritis often acts up with excessive activity and cause become transiently more painful than usual. Certain viral infections can cause pain in several joints at once; this is usually transient and resolves once the viral illness resolves.
Avatar n tn I have to sleep in an awkward position and if I move in the night (and I do) the pain wakes me up. I was given medicine to help me sleep and dull the pain (amitriptyline), but it doesn't always help. I know I'm getting paranoid and cranky from lack of sleep. Now I'm being sent to a rheumatologist. I'm concerned that there may be another issue in play. Possibly something with: lung, lymph nodes, cancer, etc. What questions should I be asking the doctors?
Avatar n tn My husband has been told he has ostearthritis, and in server pain with his leg( around the knee joint. One doctor has mention him having cortison injections.
Avatar f tn Then after months of suffering and the doctor not knowing what it was, I did some research online and I came across some postings from other people having the same problem and that took K supplements and actually were able to be better. Well I got my mom her K pills and the pain in the knee was mostly gone, temporarily. After like a month or so the pain came back but this time in the neck, lasted like a couple of weeks like that and then now it is on her upper arms.

Avatar m tn ) i have knee and back pain ... and also very fatigued . so tired and no energy ! Tappered of Vicodin .... 2 weeks free now .
Avatar m tn It could be the knee is just very inflammed and a course of prednisone or similar steriod would reduce the pain and inflammation. It maybe that the meniscus requires additional surgical attention....or that this is not assocaited with your meniscus at all. That's why an MRI may be beneficial. Please let us know what you discover. I will be sure to watch for your next post so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. Again I am sorry fot the tardiness of my response.
