Avatar n tn is it okay to use ibuprofen for a child of 5 years (he has got severe headache and very high body temperature) who is on tegretol and keppra medication?
Avatar n tn The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem. Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?
Avatar f tn Similarly, the Midol (cramps and body aches) contains ibuprofen and should not be taken with an additional dose of ibuprofen. You can read up more about the drugs interacting with Septra at the link posted below. www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/septra_d00124.html Do ensure that you maintain adequate fluid intake (about 2000 ml) while on these drugs and avoid alcohol as alcohol interacts adversely with Septra. Do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from depression and anxiety. I recently saw my psychiatrist, and he prescribed Effexor (37.5mg a week until I get to 150mg) to treat these conditions. I have been smoking marijuana regularly (daily) for about 5 years now, and it helps me with my lower back pain that I get from an injury that left me with 4 herniated discs, on top of helping with my depression. Obviously it is not helping enough with the depression to be enough, which is why I went to see my psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn About a year and a half ago, I had a severe asthma episode and coschondrits for the first time. I was put on a 2 week coarse of Prednisone along with ibuprofen. By the end I had developed an issue swallowing pills. Even my small thyroid ones felt like they got stuck. Then it progressed to coughing up small hard bits of food, severe reflux, etc. After too much testing, the problem mostly resolved except for lingering occasional esophageal spasms and the thought that some was just hypersesivity.
Avatar m tn For the past month, since sinus surgery and multiple courses of steroids and antibiotics, I have been unable to sleep past 4AM. Not only an I awake, but I am jolted awake and then am completely wired/stressed (think 10 Venti Starbucks) for the rest of the morning. Slight nausea/ No interest in food in the morning. Things usually calm down for the day after lunch.
Avatar f tn m not getting any better and the worse thing was it become pneumonia and the doctor put me on zithromax for 7 days but unfortunately the fever is still there and I was confined in the hospital twice and I undergo bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy and the diagnosis was nonspecific interstitial pneumonia but still I have a fever and night sweat at night.
645800 tn?1466860955 After spending most of the day on the phone with the VA and Vanderbilt about the drug interaction indication for the Avathioprine and my lisinopril. Turns out that the interaction can cause annemia so the Neuro want my PCP to change my BP med if possible. I am also suppose to hold off on taking the Avathioprine until this is resolved.
Avatar f tn I stopped for three months because I started prednisone. One day I tool it and had a moderate allergic reaction. My scalp, face, and neck started to itching severely then just about everywhere else. My face swelled then I went to the ED.
Avatar f tn Anything is possible with drugs today, If you go to Drugs.com they have an interaction search, and what is nice, you can register, and each time you are put on a new drug, it saves your prescriptions and gives you notice if any interactions exist, from moderate to severe. I don't think Md's take the time to look at your file to see what other meds you are on today, you need to look out for yourself.
Avatar m tn I know headache is a common side effect but was wondering what I could take for it? I read that ibuprofen and asprin can cause interactions. Are the interactions for people that take a lot or what? Thanks for the help.
Avatar n tn Apparently even with the withdrawal of the drug the proteins remained being placed on the red blood cells, so I continued to have hemolysis even after withdrawal. I was on prednisone for almost a year, and Prednisone worked but as soon as I was tappered off this med, the hemolysis came back. My hemoglobin went down to 4 and during prednisone treatment it was around 12-13.
Avatar f tn when I have drug interaction questions I go to druginteractions.com and enter the drugs that I am taking and it lets me know if they have any interactions or precautions. I also take fiorocet which has tylenol in it but I do not know off hand about the barbituate and how that would react with the ibuprofen at that dosage so check it out if you haven't already or for future reference.
Avatar n tn Many of the symptoms you describe are side effects of the medicine you have been on -- such as ibuprofen and prednisone. The question is whether something is underlying all of this? You have had testing but it is difficult to know what it means. it seems that your MRI would be important but I obviously cannot see it and therein lies the problem. I cannot tell what is atypical about it. Lyme was presumably tested in your spinal tap and this does sound like it.
Avatar n tn Orbital myositis is extremely responsive to prednisone. Medications like ibuprofen can help also (tylenol not really), but prednisone is much more effective. You need to find another eye doctor to consider this diagnosis and prescribe prednisone. Note also that a condition called optic neuritis can cause pain with eye movement but does not cause the eye to get red nor the lids to swell. I don't think you have optic neuritis.
Avatar f tn Studies have demonstrated that at certain dosages, ibuprofen can stress the liver and elevate liver enzymes in people with Hepatitis C. Ibuprofen must be used with extreme caution in the later stages of liver disease and for those on interferon therapy. 3. Aspirin – (Bayer, Anacin, Excedrin and others) reduces fever, relieves pain, and acts as an anti-inflammatory and blood thinner.
Avatar n tn Now I am on my third dose of methotrexate along with prednisone. The Dr. is trying to overlap the prednisone until the methotrexate kicks in. Tachycardia persists and is relieved with Metoprolol 50mg 2 x day. I have palpitations and skipped beats. I'm very tired, fatigued. I have not been able to work since September of last year. CT Scan shows evidence that my pericardium is thickened but I am not constrictive at this point.
Avatar f tn The main thing, though, is not to get dehydrated (as Jaquta said) and not to suddenly change your salt intake (for instance by changing your diet or not eating and only drinking liquids that don't have any salt in them. Hope you feel better soon!
Avatar f tn I've been taking Rebif since my Dx in March with no problems until last night! I took aspirin before my shot instead of my usual ibuprofen and have never felt so horrible. When they say "fllu-like" symptoms that's the understatement of the millenium!!! I shivered so hard I thought I was going to crack my teeth. I could barely hold a cup of water from the shivering and shaking to take some ibuprofen.
649758 tn?1229841488 It is a very dangerous drug and you must be taken off gradually, (so u dont die) and then swith to a non-steroidal anti inflamatory, or NSAID like Aleve, Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Id reccomend getting a seccond opinion about the benneficial vs lethal effects of your prednisone. It is normally only prescibed for a week max.
2147300 tn?1369689688 As well as there being a drug-drug interaction between these drugs as pooh has posted ,it is generally advised to not take sytemic immunospressants while doing HCV therapy There seems to be ongoing controversy about immunosuppressive steroid(prednisone) use and how it affects or if it affects HCV viral replication.
Avatar f tn ) It all started out of the blue, I woke up one day with joint pain EVERYWHERE! Within a couple days after many hot baths, heating blankets and ibuprofen, I saw my family doctor. This was when that swine flu was going around so I was concerned I was coming down sick as the pain felt much like those pesky body aches you get when you have a cold or the flu, but worse. I had a bunch of bloodwork which all came back normal.
Avatar m tn Dr. prescribed 300 mg Gabapentin along with Vicodin and ibuprofen 800mg for pain.Is this going to get better, stay same, progress? I looked at a Dr.Timothy Helm's Low Level Laser Therapy,do you have an opinion?Any info or answers are greatly appreciated.
