The last 3 times he has bitten it or held it in his mouth until I release him and he proceeded to freak out all of the house and drool and spit profusely. It is awful to see and must be just terrible for him. He now hates it when I try to give it to him and he is a very agreeable and loving kitty otherwise. I know there are pill poppers you can get, but do they work or will he still just spit it out?
). It just starts to wear on you after this long. Also, the prednisone has caused my menstrual cycle to be every 2 1/2 weeks, which in turn makes my disease flare. AAUUGGGHHH! Autoimmune disorders stink! (Can you tell I am having a bad prednisone day?) I am usually in very high spirits, I work with kindergarten children, have 2 girl scout troops and 3 very active kids, so I stay very busy and involved.
In addition my nose has become dry and my mouth and throat. It was suggested by a speech pathologist that I have ice chips throughout the day and drink plenty of fluids. The normal over the counter mouth products suggested by my dental hygienist for maintaining moisture contain xylotol which I have a severe reaction to so I have had to avoid those. I have been using normal saline spray for my nose as I have no other ideas on what to use.

The lesion has a type of glossy look to it, and it is red. The lesions do not hurt, unless they rub against my boxers, and then it causes some slight pain. The lesions do not bleed, but they appear to be very wet and feel wet.

hi, i have a dry patch on the top of my lip. it started off about 2 months ago as a small discolored dot, then progressed into a darker patch bigger patch (<1cm wide). Now, it looks dry and and slightly flaky, and feels weird when i touch it with my tongue, but i can't really pick at the dry skin. it also feels sort of heavy, not numb or slightly tingling (not like pins and needles) but like i can feel something there. also when i stretch the skin i can see white spots behind it.
For some cause my lips are dehydratating and this lead to dry lips, painfull lips, red lips and so on because of mouth breathe & sometimes lip licking. I've done intra muscular corticosteroid for 3 months and felt worst, also local corticosteroids & prednisone(tablets).Noting helped. The very best moment when my lips are feeling pretty good is when i use a very expensive lip stick from Bioderma, but even then i'm not even close to normal and the moment pass..
Most all antidepressant will cause dry mouth. Do not discontinue the prednisone without the advice of your doctor. Noxafil, is the newest antifungal medication they have and that is what I'm on. It's 3600.00 a month.

During the IV's they gave me wintergreen lifesavers to suck on because of the metal taste, but within a few hours the metal taste was gone. I'm honestly just not really hungry. I'm eating like normal, just because I worry if i don't it'll make the tired and shakiness worse, but I could probably eat less and not miss it. Did your doctor give you anything to help you sleep or to help settle your tummy? I've had prilosec (sp?

I have been on it for 1 week now at 20 mg a day, and have had nausea and a weird taste in the back of my mouth, and keep getting that "throw up" feeling, if you know what I mean...like the constant metallic spit in the back of my mouth?? I have no appetite, yet I'm hungry all the time, thirsty all the time, having to go to the bathroom constantly...and this is all since starting the prednisone. I have 2 more weeks to take this, and don't know if I can handle it anymore.
Note that antihistamines and most medicines for anxiety dry the eye and mouth. I have had personally many of the symptoms you have as has my wife. We are much older. Both of us have moderately severe dry eyes. Both of us got limited relief from drops-omega 3-environment modification. We are both on Restasis with complete relief.

I grew up with 3 female cats who all lived to be 20 and older and were fed wet and dry food like yours. While all cats need the extra moisture benefit of canned food, I believe the crystal problem happens more in male cats and especially ones who are on dry food only. Jade had a tiny problem a year ago, but before us, she was fed only dry food for 5yrs and I'm sure crystals don't form overnight. She was prescribed the very expensive Hills, but wouldn't touch it.
I've about decided that either the Sjogrens or the medication for the lupus is the culprit For the dry eye and dry mouth, there are over the counter treatments for both. There are several eye treatments - i like Systane eye drops the best, and Biotene toothpaste and a drymouth spray that work fairly well. You also have the option of having the tear ducts plugged, but most insurances don't cover that - mine doesn't.
Initiation of or worsening of lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, Sjogren’s disease (dry mouth and eyes). These side effects may or may not resolve with completion of therapy.
I also am getting occasional dry skin on the bridge of my nose, and on top of everything my lips are getting dry and itchy too. I am allergic to lipsticks and lipgloss so I haven't worn them in over 6 years. However this time my lips started acting up for no reason. does anyone else have this problem with their lips? I went to my dermatologist and he said there is nothing I can do about it. Steroid creams are too risky around the eye, and they also create wrinkles.
Sjogren's Syndrome Henrik Sjögren was a Swedish ophthalmologist and the first to recognize that dry eyes and dry mouth were often found in people with connective tissue diseases. These symptoms are caused by the accumulation of immune system cells (lymphocytes) in and around tear and saliva producing glands. The build-up of cells disturbs the function of these glands and leads to reduced production of tears and saliva.
