Avatar f tn I was diagnosed 4 days ago with episcleritis in my left eye but the doctor seemed concerned with scleritis as well. I am taking prednisolone 4x day and and 400mg 2x day. Now my other eye is feeling the same irritation and beginning to get deep pain so I started drops in that eye too. With this treatment when can I expect relief? Preliminary tests suggest the possibility of something autoimmune (1:640 ANA speckled). Waiting for more in depth tests next week and eye specialist next week too.
Avatar m tn this concerns me, if what you mean is PREDNISONE (the canine variety of prednisolone). How long has your dog been taking prednisolone? This is a very powerful drug that should not be given long term. It can cause some severe and very damaging side-effects. Prednisolone does not cause or treat seizures, but it can create some severe symptoms and primaryt conditions that can lead to a dog having seizures.
Avatar m tn she felt some irritation.. suddenly her one of the eye got reddish.. she went for treatment, and after some days, the eye came back to normal. But now, the same got reddish again, after multiple check up with the eye doctor, she prescribed "Prednisolone acetate ophthalmic suspension USP" and she used for a week.. now her eyes are 70% ok. but meanwhile she was asked to take a blood test in which ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE results came in 31mm.
Avatar n tn hi there...I have been treated with prednisolone for pneumonia, was in hospital and have been recovering for 6 weeks. I was on prednisolone for 3 weeks and they did NOT taper the dosage.I have experienced horrific withdrawals and now have been given zanax for treating the extreme anxiety. It is 3 weeks since I took thelast prednisolone tablet, I am angry I was not advised to taper down the dosage and I am wondering how long I will be going through this awful period of withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I have been taking prednisolone on off for years for sinusitis/allergies and have read some people have started taking methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Does anyone know if this would also work for chronic sinusitis conditions?
Avatar m tn I agree with combining steroids such as prednisolone with an NSAID such as Nevanac or Ketorolac. Treatment usually needs to be for multiple weeks, with a slow taper off the drops. Your intraocular pressure needs to be carefully monitored, since the prednisolone can raise the eye pressure.
7002065 tn?1443073614 there are people that use the drug for years for RA (rheumatoid arthritis) and there were trials that looked into the side effects of long term administration of low dose corticoid treatment namely Prednisone and Prednisolone, the side effects were minimal.
1196922 tn?1265100570 (1) I am treating myself with something I picked up here called Maxidex (Dexamethason .1% with other ingredients including Benzalkonium Chloride .001%, Hydroxyphropl Methylcellulose .5%) and I am wondering if that will help cure it? I don't have access to prednisolone which I have used in the past. (2) I have had it for two weeks now, and with the Maxidex I am treating myself with a very outdated (2 years) eye dialator called isopto-homatropine 5%every other day?
Avatar f tn And now two months completed and she has fever again and we control the fever with prednisolone Pls tell that can prednisolone effect the treatment with sofosbuvir and ribavirin or its okay to take with this theropy Many thanks.
Avatar f tn m on Levaquin. He has also prescribed Prednisolone for a six day time span to help open things up. I have had problems with my ears and sinus's since I was very little. I currently get allergy injections, take Rhinoquart Aqua and Claritin for my allergies. We were very hopeful that these steps would help keep this problem form happening again and again.
Avatar m tn This did not work either, so the ivomec was increased to 2ml and a treatment of 5mg prednisolone was given for one week along with a treatment of 1 biotin daily. At first this seemed to help but after she came off of the prednisolone she started to lose hair again and the flakes started again. My vet then advised me to give her a constant dose of the prednisolone i.e 1 tablet every other day. This did not work. The yellow flakes are now all over her body and she scratches all night.
Avatar m tn He went to the vet for an ear infection and was prescribed prednisolone 20mg. When he got home he started to become dizzy, yelping and unable to walk properly. He's holding his head up and refuses to lye down. It looks like he's in a lot of pain. Does this sound familiar to anybody?
Avatar n tn In fact I wanted to ask you for what you are on prenisolone for?For the present episode or for some other problem, how long?sure prednisolone can cause stomach problems.Did not the prescribing doc told you to withdraw in phases?
Avatar n tn Therefore, many, if not most, patients with episcleritis will not require any treatment. However, some patients with mild symptoms demand treatment and may benefit from the use of artificial tears. Occasionally, a clear history of an exogenous sensitization can be obtained, and removal of this agent will prevent recurrent attacks. Ocular therapy Simple episcleritis often requires no treatment. Artificial tears are useful for patients with mild-to-moderate symptoms.

Avatar m tn All of them were ok except one that is ASO TITRE. Its higher than 200 and less than 400. He put me on prednisolone for a month as well as on some other pain killers. I did not go back to Doctor eventhough my symptoms were not gone. This winter my muscles pain hit me again. Again I went to the same doctor and my ASO Titre is again higher than 200 and less than 400. Again he put me on the same prednisolone and some pain killers. What should I do now? The doctor who is treating me is Orthopedic.
Avatar f tn My Dr found the GM one year ago and I had had abcesses each three months I donot why but is each three month and in the same side of my right breast. I had been in a treatment with prednisone and Methotrexate for one year but the abscess goes away and comes back, so I guess that the medicine is not working in my body, at less not for the GM, b/c is killing me with the side effects. I would like to start think on the mastectomy but i am really confused.
Avatar n tn The doctor prescribed prednisolone eye drops with a tapering dose over a week or so. This seemed to take care of the issue. However, a couple of weeks later and after going off of the eye drops as prescribed, my eye flared up with the same symptoms. The doctor recommended the same treatment. The eye once again improved. 1 week after the second incident, I was nearly tapered entirely off of the eye drops. However, my top eyelid became quite swollen and painful.
Avatar n tn I had 4 relapses within a year because I was not allowed to start Rebif treatment. I was taken off prednisolone pills end of July and had my most recent relapse at its peak early October. Since end of September, I had alread told my neurologist of increasing tightness and loss of sensation on my feet and body to the extent that I didnt feel when I stepped on broken glass or when I sat on a pair of pointed scissors.
1413519 tn?1281818201 He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results. Any guess of outcome would be appreciated. Thank you.
