I've had all different types of steroid creams, I'm on prednisolone aswell as lots of different types of tabs to try and control it, nothing's working so far :( I was in hosp for 11 days having to have dressings on all overy body due to the severity. Apparently I'm the most severe case in the UK at the moment, I've had this for nearly 7 weeks now and I'm really at my wits end. How long did it take for yours to go?

On our recent visit to the ophthalmologist, he has given the injection of Avestin in the right eye, also he asked to continue the anti TB medicine along with prednisolone tabs. Now the spots which was appearing black then brown then yellow then blue turns to green and light green.
Please give your comment on the eye condition. becoming good or worse. Here we asked to ophthalmologist he is not giving any update on the eye condition.
this concerns me, if what you mean is PREDNISONE (the canine variety of prednisolone). How long has your dog been taking prednisolone? This is a very powerful drug that should not be given long term. It can cause some severe and very damaging side-effects. Prednisolone does not cause or treat seizures, but it can create some severe symptoms and primaryt conditions that can lead to a dog having seizures.
I've been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
Prednisone is activated by enzymes in the liver to turn into prednisolone. They do have similar uses but prednisolone is more readily absorbed by the body. Prednisolone is usually used when there is liver toxicity or liver failure involved.
There is no great difference between them, other than the above, however ... it is normal practice to begin at a low dosage, rising to a level that's appropriate for the weight of the dog.
Something similar is a glucosamine/chondroitin combination. Again, be sure it's formulated for cats. In humans, both the avocado-soybean unsaponifiables approach and the glucosamine/chondroitin approach seem to have about equal effectiveness.
While talking to the vet, also check about prednisolone is not being considered. It's a steroid and often given to dogs, maybe it's not done that much in cats? But it reduces inflammation.
Also, for prednisolone and prednisone, the doctor doesn't just"advise" you to taper.
m wondering how people take oral prednisone, and is that similar to oral methylprednisolone? I know of 20mg prednisone/prednisolone tablets, but I keep reading that some people opt for 1,250mg oral prednisolone per day instead of IV.
Thats an extreme amount of tablets per day. Is this correct?
Also I read that they take the oral pred over 3 weeks, then again I read that its taken as the IV would be taken i.e - over 3-5 days. Which is correct?

I have been taking prednisolone on off for years for sinusitis/allergies and have read some people have started taking methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Does anyone know if this would also work for chronic sinusitis conditions?
m on Levaquin. He has also prescribed Prednisolone for a six day time span to help open things up. I have had problems with my ears and sinus's since I was very little. I currently get allergy injections, take Rhinoquart Aqua and Claritin for my allergies. We were very hopeful that these steps would help keep this problem form happening again and again.
hello , I had an exposure 11 weeks ago and used prednisolone between weeks 8 to 11 , and after that got a negative ag/ab elisa hiv test . (11 weeks after exposure) . my question is that :as prednisone is an immunosupressant , could it hide my hiv antibodies ? if yes , how about hiv ag ?
and is my hiv ag/ab test after 11 weeks (with 3 weeks use prednisolone) accurate ?
Did you wean off the prednisolone? It is important to do that, as suddenly stopping can cause kidney damage. I strongly recommend you go see a doctor. Many people who stop steroids can have adrenal failure. It wouldn't hurt to get your ovaries checked out by ultrasound either.
Few years back, when my mom was washing toilet with acid.. she felt some irritation.. suddenly her one of the eye got reddish.. she went for treatment, and after some days, the eye came back to normal.
But now, the same got reddish again, after multiple check up with the eye doctor, she prescribed "Prednisolone acetate ophthalmic suspension USP" and she used for a week.. now her eyes are 70% ok.
d injured my arm, and listened to my Chest (I have asthama) and prescribed me Prednisolone for a chest infection. The doctor was convinced this was not heart related. I was reluctant to take the drug...and the same symptomns came and went.

So i have taken omnacortil10mg(Prednisolone) and Gabaneuron for the past 45 days only in the night due to some neuropathy problems. I have taken 2 hiv antibody tests after 8th and 12th week. Both are came back negative.
I have read that the above mentioned steroids can delay the seroconversion period. So my questions are
1)Is these steroids affect my 12 week HIV test?
2)Do i need further testing?
t seem to get a straight answer on this, I did not have anything like this before the surgery, my vision is like being under water I was told to take ketoralac as a substitute for acular as my insurance did not cover the acular, went for a second opinion and this lasik surgeon agreed with CME, and thought it was better to use prednisolone along with nevanac, so my question is this permanent or will in most cases it will get better soon I hope this is terrible to live with one eye.
