Avatar f tn After surgery, I started the Ketorolac and the prednisolone drops. Surgery was late Wednesday, took drops once, then on Friday morning, I awakened to a rash on both forearms that itch like mad and are on fire. While the Ketorolac burns/stings quite a bit each time I use it, I do not have any known allergies to NSAIDs other than naproxene, which makes me nausea, stomach pain, and vomiting. I have never taken a steroid before for anything.
Avatar n tn Lotemax is a reengineered analog of prednisolone. Its every-bit as potent at the prednisolone molecule. Molecularly speaking the designers of the Lotepredenol Etabonate molecule (Lotemax's active ingredient) removed the Ketone group from prednisolone molecule and replaced it with an Ester carbon creating an Ester Corticosteroid also know as a site-specific corticosteroid.
Avatar f tn I had cataract surgery and now my eye is, I guess (according to opth.) permanently dilated. He said if it didn't correct itself within a few months, it was permanent and nothing could be done. Has anybody had this experience or can someone advise if there may be something that can be done?
Avatar n tn My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
Avatar m tn I saw a neuro-opth and asked her if an ocular migraine could last that long. Her response was yes. I'm having similar issues right now and on prednisone to clear up the blurred vision. When I taper down 10mg, the blurring comes back within a couple of days. Neuro-opth and GP don't think it's optic neuritis, and the VEP is tomorrow. I would highly recommend a neuro-opth if you can find one. I saw a regular opth for this back in October and she didn't find anything wrong.
359574 tn?1328360424 Had it all of May. Went to the neuro-opth and he said it was viral conjunctivitis. Did some drops for a few days, went back and was pronounced cured. Pain started up again, but eventually faded away. It came back in July for a while, and now I've had it again since the first of Oct. Called the neuro-opth to talk to his nurse and see if there was any point in taking off work to see him.
Avatar m tn this concerns me, if what you mean is PREDNISONE (the canine variety of prednisolone). How long has your dog been taking prednisolone? This is a very powerful drug that should not be given long term. It can cause some severe and very damaging side-effects. Prednisolone does not cause or treat seizures, but it can create some severe symptoms and primaryt conditions that can lead to a dog having seizures.
Avatar f tn I've been told to go on prednisolone for 3 months or so in order to bring down my slightly elevated liver enzymes. I am worried that the prednisolone might react with the oroxine therapy which I am taking daily for my Hashimotos hypothyroidism. The amount of prednisolone is 25mg per day for 1 week, then 10 mg per day for 2 weeks, then 7.5mg per day for 4 weeks, then 5 mg per day until i see the doctor in 3 months time.
Avatar f tn Prednisone is activated by enzymes in the liver to turn into prednisolone. They do have similar uses but prednisolone is more readily absorbed by the body. Prednisolone is usually used when there is liver toxicity or liver failure involved. There is no great difference between them, other than the above, however ... it is normal practice to begin at a low dosage, rising to a level that's appropriate for the weight of the dog.
Avatar f tn Since the L eye, I have had diplopia and have been told it is due to the anesthesia needle. I have seen a ped. opth. and been given temporary prism glasses. He seems ready to go ahead with the muscle surgery. I have read several of Dr. Hagan's papers on the subject and my specific question is: What is the longest amount of time it has taken for this type of double vision to resolve by itself without surgery? On Sept. 18 I will be at 3 months.
1196922 tn?1265100570 t have access to prednisolone which I have used in the past. (2) I have had it for two weeks now, and with the Maxidex I am treating myself with a very outdated (2 years) eye dialator called isopto-homatropine 5%every other day? 5629063 tn?1371241247 34 mm/hr , so a new test shows : CRP: 11 mg/L, RF : 3.4 IU/ml, Anti CCP : 8.5 U/ml ( negetive ) . please inform me what is the problem?
Avatar f tn Something similar is a glucosamine/chondroitin combination. Again, be sure it's formulated for cats. In humans, both the avocado-soybean unsaponifiables approach and the glucosamine/chondroitin approach seem to have about equal effectiveness. While talking to the vet, also check about prednisolone is not being considered. It's a steroid and often given to dogs, maybe it's not done that much in cats? But it reduces inflammation.
Avatar n tn Also, for prednisolone and prednisone, the doctor doesn't just"advise" you to taper.
Avatar f tn I have been taking prednisolone on off for years for sinusitis/allergies and have read some people have started taking methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Does anyone know if this would also work for chronic sinusitis conditions?
1475492 tn?1332884167 If your MS Specialist order the consult to the Neuro-opth, then yes, your Neuro-opth will dictate his/her impression and send it to your primary and MS Specialist. Yes the Neuro-opth will include everything in their report. Good luck with your next tests.
Avatar f tn m on Levaquin. He has also prescribed Prednisolone for a six day time span to help open things up. I have had problems with my ears and sinus's since I was very little. I currently get allergy injections, take Rhinoquart Aqua and Claritin for my allergies. We were very hopeful that these steps would help keep this problem form happening again and again.
Avatar m tn hello , I had an exposure 11 weeks ago and used prednisolone between weeks 8 to 11 , and after that got a negative ag/ab elisa hiv test . (11 weeks after exposure) . my question is that :as prednisone is an immunosupressant , could it hide my hiv antibodies ? if yes , how about hiv ag ? and is my hiv ag/ab test after 11 weeks (with 3 weeks use prednisolone) accurate ?
Avatar f tn Did you wean off the prednisolone? It is important to do that, as suddenly stopping can cause kidney damage. I strongly recommend you go see a doctor. Many people who stop steroids can have adrenal failure. It wouldn't hurt to get your ovaries checked out by ultrasound either.
665797 tn?1225283365 My husband has suffered with cluster headaches for 12 years, he was prescribed Prednisolone in a high dose then reducing, the headaches would stop. He did this for a few years, but unfortunately he started to have chronic cluster headache for about a year, he tried & tried the prednisolone but this did not work.

Avatar n tn d injured my arm, and listened to my Chest (I have asthama) and prescribed me Prednisolone for a chest infection. The doctor was convinced this was not heart related. I was reluctant to take the drug...and the same symptomns came and went. August 2017 - I helped my parents with some heavy bags into the house, that evening I had a very sharp pain in my chest. This is when I took the Prednisolone.
