Avatar m tn i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?
Avatar m tn Has anyone been prescribed Nevanac eye drops for post Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery ? I was prescribed to take this for 3 months (didn't even have the surgery yet) but the online medical information on it says not to take it for more than 14 days or there could be serious side effects. I'm not big on "blind faith" with what any Doctor just says, especially when it contradicts the warnings to this extreme.
Avatar f tn I have been on Prednisolone eye drops since December 8th 3 times a day for a week than 1 time a day for a week. I'm on the last week I took it this morning but it's weird now my eyes are still burning and I'm so confused right now because my eyes actually stop burning last Wednesday and my eyes been fine until today. What should I do.Tomorrow is my last day taking the Prednisolone eye drops.
Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar f tn I am stopping the Prednisolone Acetate drops but was told to continue the Ketorolac 4 times a day. So can the pressure and burning feeling I have last longer than is typically stated? (My eye pressure is normal) I have a lot of pressure points around the eye socket that are still painful. What questions should I be asking?
Avatar m tn For the cataract surgery, it is every 2 hours!!! Eye drops, eye drops and more eye drops. Then more eye drops for the dry eye that the other drops cause. On and on. No end.
Avatar n tn My eye doctor sent me to a cornea specialist and after an exam he asked me to keep taking the acyclovir tablets (1 pill - 3x a day) and prescribed Pred Forte eye drops (Prednisolone Acetate 1%) 4x a day. Reading about this stereoid, I saw that it is not to be used on infections caused by virus (eg. Herpes). What should I do????? Thank you.
1413519 tn?1281818201 He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results. Any guess of outcome would be appreciated. Thank you.
Avatar n tn The doctor prescribed prednisolone eye drops with a tapering dose over a week or so. This seemed to take care of the issue. However, a couple of weeks later and after going off of the eye drops as prescribed, my eye flared up with the same symptoms. The doctor recommended the same treatment. The eye once again improved. 1 week after the second incident, I was nearly tapered entirely off of the eye drops. However, my top eyelid became quite swollen and painful.
Avatar m tn prescribes a continuation of prednisolone acetate 1% eye drops 4x per day, at least up until my 3- week post op appointment. The possible side effects scare me. Can I gradually taper off the frequency of these steroids as long as the eye stays clear and comfortable? I saw some recommendations on-line for lowering frequency in 2nd week to 3x per day and 2x per day in 3rd week.
Avatar f tn The doctor who did the surgery said the eye was swollen and put me on several rounds of steroid drops. When I stopped using the drops the pain returned. The doctor couldn't explain that and again wrote a prescription for the same drops. I then switched doctors (not a surgeon) and he put me on the strongest steroid eye drops available and the pain would go away but return. He also said the eye was swollen.
1196922 tn?1265100570 Maxidex is a steroid that does not penetrate as well as prednisolone. The two year old drops should be ok is stored at room temperature or better if refrigerated. I would first try the Maxidex for a few days and if have discomfort or pain add the homatropine. You should not continue the drops for more than three weeks due to the risk of glaucoma and cataracts. It is best to see the ophthalmologist. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn I was recently put on prednisolone eye drops after having cataract surgery. Has anyone ever taken these eye drops and had severe abdominal bloating.i fee like it happened over night. It’s so uncomfortable.
Avatar n tn n drops, like usual, but he DID switch my contacts. So I did the drops, and after I was done with those, I tried the new contacts & contact solution. Well that didn't work..... Any thoughts, suggestions, anything. Is it the contacts, the solutions, should I start back doing allergy shots????
Avatar f tn Does any use eye drops for allergies. If so what do you use.
Avatar f tn I acccidentally slept in my extended-wear contacts and, during the night, had some allergy issues. Not realizing my contacts were in my eyes, I used antihistamine eye drops. This morning, one of my contact lenses is not on my iris--it feels like it's stuck way back under my eyelid, but I cannot dislodge it or see any evidence that it is still in my eye. Is it possible that the antihistamine drops dissolved or ate the contact?
Avatar n tn I went to the eye doctor and he examine the eye and stated that I had episcleritis. The first two weeks I was put on anti-inflammatory drops, which did not help. This past week I was put on Prednisolone and over the counter ibuprofen and it has help tremendously. However, I still have just a little redness. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn I was talking to someone and she accidenatlly spit food in my right eye. I came home and rinse my eye out immdeialey and put drops in the right eye. Now my right eye keeps getting red. I have been using an antibotic but after a week or so my eye goes back to being red. Could it be that I may have cut in my eye. It does not hurt but occasionaly itches when it is red and have a discharge.Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn My doctor told me that my eye was just irritated from my contacts and that with a few days without my contacts and using antibiotic eye drops my eye will clear up. I plan on not using my contacts for two weeks.
Avatar n tn So i went to my ophthalmologist again and he said that I was probably allergic to the contacts so he gave me some eye drops lotemax. I now am not wearing contacts at all do to my eyes getting red but I am still having eye problems my eye hurt near the corner of the eye , there are small veins that are around the cornea.
Avatar n tn My eye surgeon prescribed prednisolone and Nevanac (brand name) drops after my cateract surgery. Prednisolone is a corticosteroid, and Nevenac is an NSAID (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug -- I like to think of it as "ibuprofin for the eyes"). Both are quite commonly used after surgical procedures, and both address the redness and inflammation that can occur after surgery. I'm sure Dr. Vosoghi will comment further as to side effects.
Avatar m tn 00 am until my last doctors visit which was on May 22nd. My right eye is still dilated but not as severely as before and my eye isn't super sensitive to sunlight. Is it normal for my eye to still be dilated after 5 days of stopping the drops? Keeping in mind that I was using it once daily for three weeks.
20830596 tn?1554933789 @x_Airia_x I would not think that mineral oil eye drops would be compatible with wearing contacts, or for that matter any drops other than something like Refresh artificial tears (that's what I use on occasion with RGP contacts). As Dr. Hagan suggests, stick with glasses if need be since you're used to them and they work.
Avatar m tn Went to outpatient Ophtho and pressure was 56. Was prescribed 3 pressure reduction drops (two twice daily, one once daily) and Prednisolone 4 drops daily. For the first four days it looked like it was improving but now after 4 weeks looks like it has been getting worse, severely more dilated. Vision was blurry at first but now is normal. Now prescribed Pilocarpine for Traumatic Mydriasis. No reaction to light but responds to Prednisolone. Ophthalmologist said there is no visible tearing.
