Avatar n tn There is no typical cardiogenic chest pain, which is crushing precordial pain radiating to the jaw, arm and neck, relieved with sublingual nitrates. other possibilities for the muscle spasms can be chest injuries, previous chest surgery, possible culprit, any history of athletics, stress fractures , pulled chest muscles. Fibromyalgia is an important condition of chronic fatigue which causes severe muscle pain, with muscle spasms in chest.
Avatar n tn If you have no cough ,or sputum production ,breathless, its sounds more muscular in origin there are intercorsal muscle in between each rib as well as ligament and more muscle in an around chest wall ,I think it best too consult gp if your a smoker ,and exclusions can be made by chest xray and in some instances an ECG just too be extra cautious albeit this is an outside cause sounds more muscular or ligament in origin .
Avatar m tn I certainly like that diagnosis and hope it's right. I have had some pain in my chest (mild, comes and goes, usually on the left side) but nothing I'd describe as sharp pain like what's described in precordial catch. I'd been writing it off as muscular pain (I don't think it's related to any heart issues).
Avatar m tn It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. Consult your PCP and get this evaluated. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar m tn Two days ago I had a sudden onset of severe pain in my chest ,left to the sternum.I can say the pain is some where aroud the sixth rib, near to the sternum. I can't clearly differentiate the pain, whether it is muscular or in the bone. The pain didn't go away by itself and is persistent from two days.( I was expecting it to be Precordial catch syndrome, which is relieved in few seconds to few minutes and is very common) . The pain exacerbate by over inhaling or exhaling.
Avatar n tn Chest pain is a serious matter and should be checked out immediately. It could be your heart or your gall bladder/liver causing the pain depending on what side the pain is in. Try to remember all the things happening when the pain starts and if there is anything that help soothe the pain. Go to the doctor!!!!!
Avatar f tn The chest pain could be related to heart vessel spasm. This condition wouldn't be picked up with a test unless it occurs at the time. You should monitor your heart activity and try and capture the event to rule out a heart problem. There is a condition that occurs with young adults and it is called Precordial Catch Syndrome (PCS). Can you rule out PCS? It manifests itself as a very intense, sharp pain, typically at the left side of the chest, which is worse when taking breaths.
Avatar n tn I recently had to visit the ER due to chest pain. The EKG that was done showed the following results: 1.sinus rhythm 2. moderate right precordial repolarization disturbance; consider female pattern 3. negative T-wave in V3 and small negative T-wave in V2 I have a history of one vessel Coronary artery disease, chronic angina, and PAD. Could you help me understand what the EKG findings mean?
Avatar n tn I would tend to think this is more puberty than anything else. True heart related chest pain in childhood/teen years is extremely rare and there would have to be severe heart disease for that to be the cause of the dhest pain. Chest pain is caused when the heart is deprived of oxygen, young people don't usually have that problem.
Avatar f tn I am symptomatic with fluid retention, increasing weight, occasional left upper anterior chest pain, shortness of breath, occasional cough, hot flashes, and chronic hiccups.

Avatar n tn about 7 days after having an episode of strong pain in middle of my chest. My blood pressure was 138/94. They did an EKG which was abnormal so they reran it thinking it was movement. The second one showed the same thing reading st-t changes and something about possible myocardial ischemia. I had blood work and troponin levels and I went home. Two days later the doctor called and said my troponin level just came back and it was elevated and they admitted me.
1211508 tn?1343079605 Yes, back pain can cause chest pain and vice versa. The back pain sounds like a muscle spasm. I have a muscle spasm that's always on my right side, same location as yours except on the right. I've been having pain front of rib and back on right side and doctor just told me this week that it is a muscle spasm/pulled muscle. I've had muscle spasms before but went to the doctor because I have mild fatty liver disease and wanted to make sure it wasn't related.
Avatar n tn I have also noticed that my chest pain, which feels like a squeezing or throbbing in the center of my chest and below the left shoulder, it now feels like i have deep chest wall pain in the when I move my arms in certain directions such as hold them directly in front of me I can literally feel tenderness in my chest wall without touching it, but when you press on my chest wall it isn't really tender.
Avatar f tn I have found nothing per say, but I always check the chest wall as well as my breasts and under my arm. I have noticed that one the chest bones on my left side a little under the collar bone protrudes slightly more than my right side. I have no soreness what so ever. As I never used to feel my chest wall before I got BC, I have no idea if this has always been the case. What is your view on it?
Avatar f tn A harmless condition involving chest pain that worsens when breathing in deeply and usually only lasts from a half to three minutes. It most often occurs in children and teenagers and sometimes in adults. The chest pain is localized and deep breathing can result in a "popping" feeling after which the pain quickly dissipates. It's also possible that this could be a form of costochondritis, inflammation at one of the costochondral junctions as suggested by SurgiMenopause.
Avatar n tn Yes, you are right, when i press i feel pain.
Avatar m tn yesterday i had this pain in my chest that scared me real bad when i was laying down all of a sudden i felt this pop in my chest and then right after i felt dizzy weak and just a bunch of heat going threw my body when i went to the doctor they said i could have a broose in my chest wall and im still having pain but i was scared i thought it was a heart attack what do you think it was?
Avatar n tn Hello~I would have this checked out as soon as possible, it may only be chest wall pain, but, it is always best to check any type of chest pain out to be on the safe side.
Avatar n tn As a male, I also had pain in my breast(chest) area. Immediately I called my doctor and he arranges for a mammogram. Yes, I understand how painful this can be. Unfortunately, this is the only answer. My doctor called me with the results and it did not show any growth but results from steroid shots I have had continually over time. Please remember, this is a support board, not a medical board. We are people who have experienced many issues and support is what we offer as a group.
1553173 tn?1358434089 That being said, it could also be chest wall strain, have you done any heavy lifting lately. Is the pain just in one spot? What I mean is, if you touch just area on your chest, does it hurt, or, is it wide spread. Usually, "spot" pains are not heart related. Anyway, please have this looked into as soon as possible, hopefully, it is nothing, but, it is always better to safe than sorry.
Avatar m tn Why do I sometimes suddenly get chest pain, always on the right hand side, and above the breast bone? Then my heart starts beating out of control ? It is even sore when I slightly press with my hand on the said spot?
