Would any of these drugs or combination of these drugs make liver count increase?

In early September, I was prescribed a statin for the first time, 40 mg of Pravastatin, to be taken at night. After 2 weeks, I started having muscle pain/weakness in my legs but for the first time in my life had very odd heart palpatations after lying down in bed for about 10 minutes when I was first trying to sleep. I stopped taking the Pravastatin after about 1 month.

I am also having higher blood sugars since i have been put on pravastatin. I have been on it now for about 2 months. I take 10 mg.

Pfeffer et al, in the prospective pravastatin pooling project, observed that 0.5% of the patients who received 40 mg of pravastatin had ALT levels >5 times ULN and 0.2% had ALT levels >9 times ULN (Circulation 2002;105:2341–2346). Dr wants to put on another statin( saying this has less side effects) and extremly expensive...But I would like to try a Non Statin is there is one on the market, or would there be supplements that are available and have good results? It is an injection of additional Cholesterol medication to the Pravastatin 40 mg I am taking now. I could get a plazebo or the real thing. So my question is..... Should I participate in this study even though I am not sure my palpitations have developed in something more serious? I do need the money and I am already on Pravastatin 40mg. BP is 120/68, resting pulse =55, total cholesterol 181 (40 mg of pravastatin nightly); HDL 55 (ratio is 3.3), Triglycerides - 79mg/dl, and ldl 110 mg/dl I ride my bike 3x/week about 75-100 miles/week. No family history with parents, but grandfather died in 1964 of heart attack at age 65 (most likely no medications on board for him). Had a stress test about 3 years ago that was uneventful. This weekend I went on a 110 mile ride - 2 days. First day 55 miles and slept in tent.

Sodium restriction is 2000 mg per day. Never add salt to food. Read labels. Most processed food have too much sodium. Restaurant food is full of sodium. Eat fresh food. Lots of vegetables, fruits etc. Diuretic therapy is added if sodium restriction isn't tatoally affective. For cirrhotic ascites is the combined use of spironolactone (Aldactone) and furosemide (Lasix). Beginning dosages are 100 mg of spironolactone and 40 mg of furosemide by mouth daily.

i was newly diagnosed 4 months ago- i'm taking glimeperide 1 mg and pravastatin 40 mg each once a day. my numbers are between low 80's and 120's. my big concern is my weight i was 161lbs 5ft 6 but i lost 40 lbs over the last year--last i got on the scale i was 117.5lbs the dr was new so he doesn't notice the weight loss although i get on the scale every visit ( only 3 ) my a1c was 5.8 and he said we'll do labs in a year?
