I have been taking a 10mg tablet of Klor Con for low potassium for a little over a week now. My level was 3.2 and normal is 3.5 to 5.0. When should I have my levels checked again and should I stop taking it since my level was not that low. The pills are huge and it hurts my stomach.

I have major deep body charlie horses, even under rib cage, that come frequently now post surgery if I don't take my potassium -- Klor-Con: 10 mcg or something like that. It's a prescription dose. I told him that I didn't want it because I'm deficient, I told him that it forced me to drink more water and thereby let the Lasix work better.

The medicines he is on make him dizzy and confused (more so than before) and he feels he is getting worse.
