How many weeks did it take for your postpartum too stop?

Vaginal discharge (lochia). Expect a bright red, heavy flow of blood for the first few days after the C-section. It might contain a few small clots. The discharge will gradually taper off, becoming more watery and changing from pink or brown to yellow or white. To reduce the risk of infection, use sanitary napkins rather than tampons.

I know one girl who had a vaginal birth and her PP bleeding was only 10 days. I had a vaginal and mine was 6 weeks. It's all just luck of the draw.

Could sex have irritated things up there, or does the flow go up and down in the first few weeks postpartum? ps. it was a vaginal delivery with my 3rd child, no episiotomy and no tears this time around.

OK I have this post partum under outfit from leonisa online VERY tight on body of course haven't tried it yet but looks very slimming can I wear this right after birth?

ve been getting that gush of vaginal discharge, sometimes while nursing, sometimes not... But enough discharge that I have to wear a pad or change my underwear and pants every time it happens. It's not bloody or red at all; it's clear to whitish and smells similar to the lochia you get right after giving birth. I have no idea what's going on... But I'm sick of that "wet" feeling, too. Did you find any answers?!?

Lochia refers to vaginal discharge during the postpartum period. (The term comes from a Greek word that means "relating to childbirth.") It consists of blood, sloughed-off tissue from the lining of the uterus, and bacteria. For the first few days after birth, lochia contains a fair amount of blood, so it will be bright red and look like a heavy menstrual period. It may come out intermittently in small gushes or flow more evenly.

I had a vaginal delivery several weeks ago of a normal sized baby. Since delivery my urine stream has pointed forward, which is inconvenient when trying to pee in a toilet (pee goes under the seat). I did a lot of kegel exercises before delivery, and have been doing them since in hopes to correct this problem, but I haven't seen any positive changes yet.

I've been married for ovver a year and 1/2. I was tested for STD's when I got pregnant last year (March 08) and tests showed negative. Had many other exams during pregnancy & postpartum. Went for pap yesterday to get an IUD and was told I had weird discharge and it could be cervical dysplasia, gonorrhea, or chlamydia. I have been faithful to my husband and I'm assuming he has been to me. I did end my period the day before my pap and I have a yeast infection.

a few weeks later i noticed that i hd bumps on the lips of my vaginal. they kinda look like risens. i can bust them and a yellowish discharge cums out just like if it wus a risen and a little blood (but not much at all). they are only ichy whenever i continue to bother them, but i cant help but bother them because they bother me! and they are hard before i pop em!!! cn anyone help me?!?!

If yu have a c section you can have sex after two weeks if the bleeding has stopped completely ..its was in my discharge papers so it was okay of course after your cut feels better..vaginally your suppose to wait 6 weeks but i waited four and i didnt get pregnant ..ppl always scare you with that condom mess but condoms works just fine for alot of ppl for years..

Not sure what swelling u mean. .. When u have the baby ur uterus and vaginal opening are stretched not swollen.... it takes time for it to go back in size ... I was cleared for sex 6 weeks postpartum but did not feel ready. .. it felt very weird when I finally did have sex ...

I had a vaginal birth but we couldn't do anything for about 3 months after :( it literally felt like my virginity grew back lol Sry tmi.

It really depends on person and how your delivery went... For me, I went vaginal and has mild pain for few hours after and then it was over.

I'm 34 weeks and my obgyn said I start vaginal check once a week starting next week. Is it uncomfortable? What do they look floor look at?

I had a vaginal birth and did not tear at all.. i was wondering if I still need to wait the recommended 6 weeks to have sex? I did have a retained placenta but it is all cleared now (idk if that would affect how soon you could have sex but just thought I should add that? I'm 2 weeks and 5 days postpartum. I don't know if it is proven but it is suspected. It is not to say if you get an epidural you will for sure have postpartum. You are just statistically more likely because your brain does not release the same chemicals when an epidural is used.

For moms who had a vaginal delivery how long did you bleed after? I'm 17 days post and still having enough spotting to where I have to wear a light pad. Just wondering if that's the norm or not. Hope your all doing well!

I'm 11 months postpartum with my third son.
