There are several definitions for PTSD however, I believe the most accurate is: PTSD is an emotional injury based on a catastrophic event.

This is a treatable condition. I have panic disorder from a car wreck, so cars are my trigger.

Avatar f tn Just to piggyback a little bit on what nursegirl said. Any traumatic experience can bring this on in my opinion from physical to mental trauma. For example, when I returned from a couple of deployments, many of my soldiers went through many 'changes' due to trauma both physical and mental Experiences shape us, but what we do with them is the most important thing we can do in my experience.
