Hi there. I just wanted to tell u there is life after ritalin. I used to have similar issues and thoughts while I was prescribed adderal. I always wondered "well how am I going to get all my work done w out these drugs " buzzing all around like a crazy woman that I had become.
I promise you , u will get your natural energy back. Everyone's different on how long it takes. I would suggest taking this one day at a time. You can do this.

I'm so concerned. My 24 year old daughter takes adderall and has been taking it for 4 years.She has increased her dose to 20mg. She's 5'5 and weighs only 104 pounds. I have tried everything to get her to gain weight. She does it but very little. She honestly thinks she looks good. I think she's addicted to it. She says she cannot focus at work unless she takes it. What can I do.

I have read that this drug can make you gain weight; I have gained about 20 lbs since i started taking it. But I don't see myself going w/o any treatment, so.... If I did stop taking it, would the weight come off, or would I have to diet to get it off????? And what is a better drug to take? I am ADD/ADHD and really stressed out. I feel better when I take celexa 20 mg. daily and 5mg of Ritalin twice daily. I am only 4'11" and this weight HAS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Breast size can occur for various reasons ... hormone levels being one; weight gain can be a factor but from your post this probably isn't true in your case. There is no documentation that increased breast size is related to Ritalin. You might ck. with either a Medical Breast Specialist or your GYN as this has no relation to Breast Cancer. Regards ....

I had a total thyroidectomy in December and I haven't gained any weight at all. My metabolism seems to be the same as it was before the thyroidectomy. I do exercise though. My doc told me that you can't sit around, do nothing, gain weight and then blame it on your thyroid. If you were overweight before, you will probably be the same after unless you exercise and eat right. If you were normal weight before then I believe you can expect the same.

I got my RAI treatment last Friday. I still don't feel any change but I'm trying to eat 200 - 300 calories a day because I'm so afraid of weight gain. ( I blew it yesterday, though! So , as I understand your post, if a child takes ritalin and it is not a proper med it would make them climb the walls? (because its a stimulant? I dont fully understand) Maybe we arent so far off track because Its not doing that-- I just don't see much effect at all. We saw how great the strattera worked for a while and the ritalin does nothing close to that- her math teacher concurs that she is spacey and less focused on the ritalin thus far.

It can be very easy to blame the weight gain on the hysterectomy but hysterectomies do not cause weight gain by themselves and thats a very true fact! If u have heard that they do well thats just a myth!! Look it up and do your research! Dont let the fear of gaining weight stop you from having a surgery that could change your way of life tremendously or it could even save your life!! Most women are very happy they had their hysterectomies.
