Hi this isn't really about a hysterectomy... but I couldn't find a related category. I currently am having pain in my vagina. Ive had a yeast infeciton before and I don't think this is one. There is no white discahrgy stuff but it's really red and irritated. It burns to pee and it's uncomfortable. It kinda hurts and I tried having sex and it hurt. It all started after my last pack of birth contorl pills. I normally on my pill have a 3 day period.

Now I am scheduled for a hysterectomy Jan. 6. I have been through 2 courses of antibiotics and now have a yeast infection which I am going to treat with monistat. Is this normal? I am 36 YO. I am 2 years post hysterectomy. Since having my hysterectomy I have recurrent yeast infections (which has been verified via gyno) Before my hysterectomy I had 2 yeast infections my whole life. From what I've read it seems to be a common issue among women who've had a hysterectomy. I guess I'm curious as to what the causes could be. I had read that the ovaries stop functioning properly more quickly after a hysterectomy and he said no.

I have been treated for yeast infection after yeast infection the last couple of months and we all know the itching just drives you mad. it sounds like you have a very bad yeast infection, yogurt and folic acid are a good treatment to improve that. i have the same symptoms alot. im not trying to be outspoken just help.

i am 27 i just recently had a supercervical hysterectomy in july due to endometriosis in the uterus my ovaries are still in tact but since i have started being sexually active again with my boyfriend i have had a thick white discharge like in a yeast infection and a slight odor but no burning or itching i did treat it as it was a yeat infection with a 1 day treatment the symptoms are still there it had no effect what so ever . could this be something else? should i be worried?

So i read in a post a few days ago, that putting greek jogurt up your vagina would help heal the yeast infection. ...i tried that yesterday and today it was only getting worse so i stopped. Anybody have any advice?

I am a 33 yo female I have had 2 sex partners in the last 2 months I started having a white discharge and treated it as a yeast infection due to the burning and discharge I tried monistat did not help used Gyne-lotrimin all symptoms went away only to come back with in a week my dr gave me Diflucan I am on day 3 of treatment still having the white coating in mt vagina never had the classic cheesey discharge just thick on the inside.

Wow, why would you use cortisone regularly? The rash is probably from sweating. Do you shower regularly? Using some corn starch there to prevent the sweating that is probably causing your problem in the armpits might save you some problems, as cortisone can cause a lot of problems. Mainly, at least in this post, you don't say why you think you have a yeast infection. Not to say it never happens, but men don't usually get them.
