It sure sounds like your surgeon was negligent. I developed the opposite problem (severe diarrhea) post-hysterectomy. I lost my libido too as well as my energy and motivation along with many other issues :(
The patch did not work well for me. I had a long list of hormone deficiency symptoms, the worst being suicidal depression and fragmented sleep. Maybe the patch is not a good fit for you or isn't a high enough dose. Or maybe you need a different brand patch.
Hi- Just wondering if anyone out there had any complications post total hysterectomy? I had mine 3 months ago due to several cysts again! Paternal grandma died of ovarian cancer at age 50. I had 15 years of cysts, and a total of 8 laporosopies. I am not even 40 yet! Any how, at my 8 wk check up my oncologist said everything was fine, no infection, no cancer, etc., I can try having sex with my husband. We did everything was fine.
2011 radical hysterectomy due to complications from multiple large fibroids. Left 1 ovary only (cerix, uterus, 1 ovary and both tubes removed). Post-op pathology showed small adenocarcinoma of cervix which was removed. I have had yearly f/u with my gyn-onc who did the surgery.
Forward to 2014- nearing my 50th bday, my abdomen has been getting thicker and thicker, not sure how long this has been going on.
since the pain seems to be more tubal I decided to have my falopian tubes removed in Feb 2011 if after this procedure I still have this pain I will then consider a hysterectomy.......
i was hospitalized the next day for complications from hernia surgery. since then i have had problems and now im bleeding vaginally which i shouldnt be considering i dont have a period from a hysterectomy. i told my doctor and she said it was from irritation where my ovary was removed but the bleeding went from spotting to a light period. what should i do?
Help!!! I have history of many prior abdominal surgeries, and then a hyst, and now I am told I have adhesions due to many pelvic surgeries. History of PCOD BAD! Endometriosis, hysterectomy in 05'. Now my stomach feels like it is on fire, I have to burp and pass gas alot. Could adhesions be causing this? What could this be? I don't know if a surgeon or any dr will treat me, as I dont have any insurance, and dont have SSI or Medicaid yet. Can these adhesions be life threatening?
I had a full hysterectomy by daVinci method six weeks ago. I still have pain and a lot of discharge and odor. Does that seem normal? I am embarrassed because I don't want my husband to be bothered by it. Any suggestions?
Beginning approx 1 week post surgery, I began to have problem with severe constipation (even though I was taking stool softners 1 week pre-op and continuining thru post op) the rectal pain/constipation was so severe, I tried Gylcerin Bulb Syringes and (2) enemas and had to resort to manuel removal of the stool. The stool appeared to be stuck in two places. Immediately inside the rectal opening and approximately 3 inches higher.
It is likely to be just a coincidence that you have developed symptoms post your hysterectomy. Diabetes is a chronic disease and complications are unlikely to develop over a few weeks or months and alternative possibilities to the cause of your symptoms may need to be considered. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.

I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
I HAD HYSTERECTOMY THREE WEKS AGO, I JUST HAD INTERCOURSE WITH MY HUSBAND EVEN THOU HE WAS REAL CAREFUL, AFTER HE CAME IN ME I FELT LIKE I WAS SWOLLEN AND IN PAIN, IS THIS NORMAL, CAUSE THE DR SAID NO SEX FOR 8 WEEKS AND WE ONLY EAITED 4, QUESTION CAN THER BE A FATAL COMPLICATIONS AFTER THIS.
I am three months post op hysterectomy. My gynecologist was very happy with this report as there is no post op complications. He never even mentioned the tiny spleen cyst. Is that significant? What can cause that and am I right to just ignore this finding?

Hi - I am 45 yrs old and have a 2.2cm cyst on my left ovary that was diagnosed a few weeks ago through CT scan and u/s. My Dr. wanted me to do another u/s at the end of Sept. to see if it changes. But, the pain is unbearable. And, I have been dealing with this for the past 6 months. It is not every day - however, I can feel discomfort in my lower left abdomen every day along with constant breast soreness and intermittent nausea.
would like to know if anyone out there has had any complications with the monarc sling/transvaginal mesh surgery? i am 56 yrs old, healthy, never had surgery til i had a hysterectomy followed by a bladder suspesion surgery last aug....did not have any leaking from bladder...all possible test were run...everything was fine...had prolapse uterus/bladder. the surgery went well & 8 wks/plus recoop went well...followed both the gynecologist & urologist order to a T....
