Since having my hysterectomy I have recurrent yeast infections (which has been verified via gyno) Before my hysterectomy I had 2 yeast infections my whole life. From what I've read it seems to be a common issue among women who've had a hysterectomy. I guess I'm curious as to what the causes could be. I had read that the ovaries stop functioning properly more quickly after a hysterectomy and he said no. He also recommended douching with baking soda.
A decline in Ovarian Hormones can surely cause UTI's and also a frequency of Yeast infections. You can read about this problem in one of the many books available on menopause or you can find info on some of the websites for some of the Menopause leaders, who also advocate the use of Bioidentical hormones. 1. A woman who has had a hysterectomy still have female genitalia and can still have health problems associated with them (STDs, infections, cancer, etc). That's the simple answer.
2. Women don't really need to douche - it actually disturbs the natural bacterial balance in the vagina and can cause infections that would normally be prevented by the natural bacteria that live in there.
A hysterectomy does not remove the vagina - which can have plenty of health problems of its own.
i had a hysterectomy a few month ago and i feel alone and like i can't do anything to make my guy happy . and now i think i may have a yeast infection from the antibotics i have to take for something else can i still get yeast infection ?
I keep having urinary tracrt infections. I get rid of one and within a few weeks to a month I get another one. I drink plenty of water, cranberry juice and drink 1 root beer a day. I am going to make an appointment with my Uroligist Monday but until then I was wanting to know what possibly could be causing this?

I am a 33 yo female I have had 2 sex partners in the last 2 months I started having a white discharge and treated it as a yeast infection due to the burning and discharge I tried monistat did not help used Gyne-lotrimin all symptoms went away only to come back with in a week my dr gave me Diflucan I am on day 3 of treatment still having the white coating in mt vagina never had the classic cheesey discharge just thick on the inside.
(the small incisions and vaginal removal of the uterus) As far as infections go, I am a nurse and the best thing that health care workers can do is WASH THEIR HANDS. Don't be afraid to ask if they washed their hands or used the hand sanitizers...it is perfectly acceptable. You too should wash your hands. They need to use alcohol prior to putting anything into your iv port. Im sure they will, but that is a couple of biggies to prevent infection.
Has anyone had multiple yeast/BV infections? I've had 3 so far and I think I'm having another! I'm going to ob tomorrow and I'm sure I'll get some meds. It's frustrating. Anyone Else?!?! Please help.

I've heard you can take monistat for a yeast infection. But I would talk to your doctor first. Treatment for a yeast is different than bacterial, and you should make sure you don't have any other complications before starting something.
Bear with me, this worked for me in 2 days; I researched all kinds of home remedies. I was getting UTI's and would take antibiotics and I would get yeast infections. One was so bad I just couldn't get rid of it and it was BAD. I researched homeopathic solutions and this worked for me, fast. First, I douched with a very diluted vineger douche;(bought it at Walmart. It might burn a little.
I used to get yeast infections every time I had intercourse. The only way I was able to stop this from happening was by douching with a vinegar and water rinse right after having sex. It was a major inconvenience but it definitely stopped the ongoing yeast infections. And on those occasions when I was too "lazy" or "relaxed" to get up and douche, the infection would return without fail. A vinegar douche really does help, but it is a major "mood disrupter.

You cant have vaginal sex and then go right to anal sex or vice versa. Its not healthy and it brings bacteria. The yeast infection you probably had, but had sex with your husband anyways before getting treated and then you keep passing to each other. That happened with me and BF. t happen all the times but most times when I am dry. I am 32 years old and he is 49 I have went to the doctor and I keep getting yeast infections. I use the over the counter meds fr it and sometimes the doctor prescribes me creams but it keeps coming back. Is it coming back because I gave it to him and he brings it back to me each time? He is a diabetic and is uncircumcized but he is very clean and has good hygienes in that department.
