Avatar f tn It can also be malaria which is often difficult to catch by diagnostic tests. In a country like India, often treatment is started if malaria is suspected. UTI is another common cause. Pneumonia and ear infections are probably ruled out as you have no related symptoms that you report. If nothing is caught, then it could be viral or even typhoid. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Talk to your treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn The cost of a radio frequency ablation in the United States can run from around $2,000in facilities that only specialise in this procedure to around $3,000 elswhere. It is my understanding that medical procedures in India can be as much as 70% less than the same treatment in the US which would make this procedure the equivalent of between $140 and $210 in India if what I have read is true. I hope this helps!

Avatar n tn If you have a virus that resulted in pneumonia, while allopathic medicine has little in the way of anti-virals, there are plants that have anti-viral properties. Olive leaf and elderberry are two examples. Herb Pharm makes a tincture that helps with virus control. That being said, though, and assuming this is viral in nature, once you have pneumonia you have progressed significantly through the viral process already and the more important thing is clearing the lungs.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the reply. i am deeply grateful. The generic brands that are readily available in india & vietnam are not as readily available in Nigeria where i live and if available at all, the price will be suffocate an average patient. Somebody mentioned that a weekly dose costs about N96000($600/week) and for a total course of 96 weeks, the cumulative cost will be unbearable for many Can i get it cheaper at your end.
Avatar f tn I will hope you cleared the virus. Please let us know for sure when you find out. I've had pneumonia only once in my life. That was the only time I have been able to quit smoking and I quit for over six months (I know I was stupid to start again) because the pneumonia was so hard on me. I could not get my energy back. My doctor said it would take up to six months, and she was right. This all happened about two years before I even found out I have hep C, though it was there all along.

Avatar f tn With treatment bacterial is cured in 1-2 weeks..viral will last longer. There are vaccines now .The type of anti biotic depends on the type of pneumonia she has , as she has only taken the meds for a few days I would continue as prescribed but if indeed she seems worse and her temperature climbs it may be aswell to have her checked out again ..

Avatar f tn There can be honest disagreement among experts about the management of RML atelectasis, bronchiectasis and recurrent pneumonia, despite appropriate, intense medical treatment, in young children with a normal immune system. There is general agreement, however that, when localized bronchiectasis, especially of the RML, becomes refractory, more severe or resistant to medical management, lobar resection may be warranted.

Avatar m tn Basically I was asking if the US or any MS-related program in the US will financially support a foreigner having treatment, diagnosis, consultations etc for MS in the United States. I currently do everything in India and I trust the doctors there, and their diagnosis and treatment. But lately I've been interested about what American doctors have to say in terms of the disease, but as I understand I would have to pay for it privately and that might be more than afford.
