I went to our local urgent care center this past Friday because of strange chest pain and upper back pain that “just didn’t feel normal”. I’ve been diagnosed with lobar pneumonia and was put on antibiotics. It’s been two days (5 doses of antibiotics, so far) and nothing has changed! There is still no congestion, no coughing (I’ve even had 5 doses of Musinex)...just fatigue and shortness of breath. The pain is on and off....I feel crazy!!! HELP?!? (No, I’ve not been sick...
I have pain in my left arm and shoulder with numbness, and pain in my right arm. The chest pain is still the same. I have pain in my jaw, back, neck, and upper ribs. I also get tingling in my fingers on my right hand. I don't know if these are signs of a heart attack or the symptoms of what my doctor still thinks it is Costochondritis?
I am a 27yr old that use to be able to walk 5-10miles a day and now I can barely walk to the store three blocks away without having severe upper torso pain. I went to the ER about three month ago with chest pain. Many tests were done, one was a CT-Scan it came back to show that I have a 3mm nodule in the subplural of my right lung. I was to do no activites for the first week after the ER visit.
Why do you worry about pneumonia? I mean, you should have had some other symptoms, like fever.
I would just try to get a massage or try some yoga poses for back pain, if it doesn't work then I would take Tylenol, and if it still doesn't work then go to doctor.
But try not to worry too much ok?

If you are coughing again I hope you will visit your PCP soon. Your pneumonia may not have resolved. It's especially important to breath deeply through the pain to avoid a recurrence. Please consult your PCP and let us know how it goes.
I completed the 5 days of medication and my flu like symptoms had resolved. However, I continue to have terrible chest and rib pain. It is on the left side and center of my chest. It feels incredibly heavy, as if someone is sitting on my chest. I have shortness of breath and tend to run out of breath while speaking. I get extremely dizzy, particularly upon standing. I even have trouble driving a car because I just feel so unsteady and foggy.

About two weeks ago, I started feeling a deep stabbing pain in my upper back underneath my left shoulder blade when I breathe in or sit in certain positions. I went to the doctor and she said it sounds like costochondritis. I don't think it is (now that I have learned about it), because it doesn't hurt to the touch, and I don't feel any swelling or chest pain.
Well for the past couple days I have been experiencing a strange new feeling.
I have experienced chest pain for the past two days. This chest pain is in my upper chest, almost right behind the sternum. The pain is very intense when I bend over (as in to wash my face) or when I take deep breathes. It is a continuous pain and I have no noticed it intensify after eating. I have experienced this pain before starting a few months back. The pain is not so noticeable when I am standing or sitting so often it is hard for me to determine exactly when the pain goes away.
I am a 29 year old woman and have been having pain in my upper right abdomen, on and off for a few months now. Every now and then, I will feel a little nausea, but I have no symptoms otherwise. I have no problems eating, exercising, etc. I have been to the doctor several times. Back in May 2007, I had protected sex with CSW. Next day, I had pink eye and one week later 2 canker sores on soft palate followed by swollen armpits. One month later I had thrush. Six week HIV test negative. Went to Dr. who said I have a upper respiratory infection. Three months later, swollen armpits became pneumonia. Took azithromycin, cleared my lungs & pneumonia, but upper body caught on fire. Developed small bumps on forearms. Got tested for Syphillis, Gono, Chlymadia, HSV 1 & 2.
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2011, one of my worst symptoms was upper back pain, right in between my shoulder blades. Not even massages helped. In my experience, it was due to tension. I realized that my shoulders were often scrunched up. Even though it was hard to do at first because I was so tense, yoga helped immensely. Google 'yoga poses for back pain' and there's a lot of good videos that can help.
For years now whenever I stand for more than a couple of hours my upper back is in agony. If I stay standing the pain gets so bad that I get a cold, numb feeling in my upper back. Could this just be my posture as I do tend to hunch my back a lot or are there other things this could be? I am 21 years old if that helps?
