pneumonia

377012 tn?1283965435 unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

Avatar f tn We live in Bulgaria and I am having a hard time getting proper treatment for my daughter. She is a year and 7 months old and last month we spent 16 days in 2 hospitals diagnosed with "Bronhit Pneumonia" which I can only translate as Bronchitis and Pneumonia. In the hospitals they changed antibiotics 5 times and did 5 xrays. After 2 weeks she has started coughing and wheezing after running and playing. This has occurred 4 times both indoors and outside.
Avatar f tn But it is usually a result of some other kinda bug thats not treated resulting in that it causes fluid on the lungs, which takes a while to turn into pneumonia. If you arnt having symptoms of the original chest cold, or flu your fine.
Avatar f tn I am just looking for some opinions. I have been doing lots of research in hopes of helping him in the interim year that we are waiting for an appt. and we do have another appt with the ped next week. I have also gotten him into a clinic that is funded by the Autism Alliance for an evaluation by them...although it will not be an official diagnosis it will help sort some things out, I hope. Thanks so much for reading and giving any input.
Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar n tn My son (aged 2) has 3 enlarged nodes in his neck, one over 2inch long and pretruding, and one in his groin. He has seen the pedritician and they have said that 2 in his neck and 1 in his groin are all within the normal limits (although the one is larger than a grape?) the one that is longer than two inches she said was larger than normal but felt ok to her. They did a blood count (normal) and test for glandular fever and told me to not worry.
Avatar f tn I know this question is all over the place but please hear me out and please don't judge. I'm 20 and about three years ago I was raped. I know it was stupid of me, but i never told/got checked out/told absolutely anyone or anything. I never thought of it again until a few months ago I got a yeast infection, got medicated and then about two months after that I got another one after being stressed from away from home and in another state..
Avatar m tn When your cd4 falls below 200. You wouldn't have PCP within 45 days of infection.
Avatar f tn How are you now? There are symptoms of aspiration pneumonia but they normally last longer than a short bit. https://www.healthline.com/health/aspiration-pneumonia#treatment. Please let us know how you are doing now.
Avatar f tn s frequently sick and is acquiring a range of illnesses such as the cold, high fevers, tonsillitis and viral pneumonia. When he was about only a year old he got severe bronchitis and was in hospital for a week. I don't know if that's severely weakened his immune system. But the main problem is this past few months, he's been getting high fevers (as high as 39-40.5 Degrees) tonsillitis and pneumonia.
Avatar n tn My 16 month old male Siberian Husky has had what our vet is saying is pneumonia for a week and a half now. His symptoms before we brought him in were extreme fatigue, coughing and hacking up mucus multiple times an hour, runny nose then very stuffed nose, difficulty breathing and a slight fever (103). We had an xray done and they saw cloudy-ness all throughout his lungs, which led them to believe it was a bacterial pneumonia and not aspiration pneumonia.
Avatar f tn Yes I did tell them. The pneumonia symptoms are starting to clear up I don't have a fever, never had a cough, starting to breathe better, and I have a lot more energy but still a bit light headed and throat is kind of sore and my voice hasn't return fully. I have been tested will get the results tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Yes “walking pneumonia” is contagious. The development of more symptoms, in the face of antibiotic therapy, is worrisome as is the “side pain” which I assume to be pleurisy and suggests that this infection may fall into the category of complicated pneumonia. In this circumstance you should definitely request careful reevaluation by your doctor or his designate to include at a minimum a repeat chest X-ray, a complete blood count and culture of your sputum.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with pneumonia in early Jan. Several courses of antibiotics later and X rays, the pneumonia has gone but left some marks on the lung; scarring according to the doctors. Despite being able to cycle and run ok, I am still not feeling right and still have catargh on my lungs which is fighting to stay put. The worst is just not feeling that my head is connected, almost like I continually have had a glass of wine! Anyone else felt like this after pneumonia?
Avatar f tn I have gotten Pneumonia 3 years in a row. I got the flu and Pneumonia shot this year and still got iPneumonia. What is going on with me. My doctor keeps giving me steroids that are blowing me up and not stopping me from catching this illness. Please help. Thank you.
5601163 tn?1370701672 Could be residual changes from the pneumonia -- many times the xray takes longer to completely resolve than the symptoms, even after a course of antibiotics. Sometimes, pneumonia develops in response to mild airway blockage from a mass or tumor, so if they saw something (even small or subtle), they probably just want a CT to make sure it's not something like that.
Avatar m tn You are very confident in those test. Swollen lymph nodes, rashes, aphthous ulcer, rasping breath sounds and a very dry irritating cough, tiredness etc. doesn't look like suspicious to you. OK, I don't expect that you will say "Ooh you have those symptoms, you are positive." No! Actually I was only asked a question about PCP pneumonia. Can someone have PCP pneumonia for 3 months without temperature?
Avatar m tn I am having no symptoms of TB. In childhood I had pneumonia. What can be the reason for this finding?
354236 tn?1196902187 I went to an emergency room, major city in Texas. I self-diagnosed as pneumonia; first thing they did was chest X Ray. I would insist on a chest X Ray. I think the stabbing pain MAY be due to the severeness of the cough. I read it can bruise ribs and in rare cases break them. Phys assistant seemed to dismiss the pain. An aide at the hospital mentioned that fumes & particles from "cement plants" in this area seem to irritate non-natives much more than natives....
