Common Questions and Answers about Pneumonia symptoms in pigs

pneumonia

Avatar f tn If pneumonia, is this a new pneumonia, a pneumonia condition caused by the flu virus itself, or standard pneumonia(s)? If a standard pneumonia, will a pneumonia shot five years ago give any protection, and/or would one now give any protection? Also, will Tamiflu from 2004 still work?
Avatar n tn I am highly allergic to cats and guinea pigs and the like and have the same symptoms if they are in the house. Wash all the linens in your house and any clothing. Your kids can transfer the pet dander from hands to clothing to other home surfaces. Make sure you try the simple things like vacuuming her mattress and getting her a good mattress cover and a new pillow. I would say - get rid of the pets and get some sleep! As a mother of 4 with 3 under age 3 I can understand your need for sleep.
Avatar f tn But it is usually a result of some other kinda bug thats not treated resulting in that it causes fluid on the lungs, which takes a while to turn into pneumonia. If you arnt having symptoms of the original chest cold, or flu your fine.
Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar m tn When your cd4 falls below 200. You wouldn't have PCP within 45 days of infection.
Avatar f tn How are you now? There are symptoms of aspiration pneumonia but they normally last longer than a short bit. https://www.healthline.com/health/aspiration-pneumonia#treatment. Please let us know how you are doing now.
Avatar n tn My 16 month old male Siberian Husky has had what our vet is saying is pneumonia for a week and a half now. His symptoms before we brought him in were extreme fatigue, coughing and hacking up mucus multiple times an hour, runny nose then very stuffed nose, difficulty breathing and a slight fever (103). We had an xray done and they saw cloudy-ness all throughout his lungs, which led them to believe it was a bacterial pneumonia and not aspiration pneumonia.
Avatar n tn I would go back to the doctor and ask him - then why were thyroid symptoms less common in patients back in the 40's - 50's - 60's and so on until Synthroid was used as the drug of choice. Armour (dessicated pig thyroid) was given to thyroid patients AND doctors then treated patients by symptoms - not on labs for many years.
Avatar f tn Yes I did tell them. The pneumonia symptoms are starting to clear up I don't have a fever, never had a cough, starting to breathe better, and I have a lot more energy but still a bit light headed and throat is kind of sore and my voice hasn't return fully. I have been tested will get the results tomorrow.

Avatar f tn Yes “walking pneumonia” is contagious. The development of more symptoms, in the face of antibiotic therapy, is worrisome as is the “side pain” which I assume to be pleurisy and suggests that this infection may fall into the category of complicated pneumonia. In this circumstance you should definitely request careful reevaluation by your doctor or his designate to include at a minimum a repeat chest X-ray, a complete blood count and culture of your sputum.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with pneumonia in early Jan. Several courses of antibiotics later and X rays, the pneumonia has gone but left some marks on the lung; scarring according to the doctors. Despite being able to cycle and run ok, I am still not feeling right and still have catargh on my lungs which is fighting to stay put. The worst is just not feeling that my head is connected, almost like I continually have had a glass of wine! Anyone else felt like this after pneumonia?
Avatar f tn I have gotten Pneumonia 3 years in a row. I got the flu and Pneumonia shot this year and still got iPneumonia. What is going on with me. My doctor keeps giving me steroids that are blowing me up and not stopping me from catching this illness. Please help. Thank you.
5601163 tn?1370701672 Could be residual changes from the pneumonia -- many times the xray takes longer to completely resolve than the symptoms, even after a course of antibiotics. Sometimes, pneumonia develops in response to mild airway blockage from a mass or tumor, so if they saw something (even small or subtle), they probably just want a CT to make sure it's not something like that.
Avatar m tn You are very confident in those test. Swollen lymph nodes, rashes, aphthous ulcer, rasping breath sounds and a very dry irritating cough, tiredness etc. doesn't look like suspicious to you. OK, I don't expect that you will say "Ooh you have those symptoms, you are positive." No! Actually I was only asked a question about PCP pneumonia. Can someone have PCP pneumonia for 3 months without temperature?
Avatar m tn I am having no symptoms of TB. In childhood I had pneumonia. What can be the reason for this finding?
354236 tn?1196902187 I went to an emergency room, major city in Texas. I self-diagnosed as pneumonia; first thing they did was chest X Ray. I would insist on a chest X Ray. I think the stabbing pain MAY be due to the severeness of the cough. I read it can bruise ribs and in rare cases break them. Phys assistant seemed to dismiss the pain. An aide at the hospital mentioned that fumes & particles from "cement plants" in this area seem to irritate non-natives much more than natives....
Avatar m tn These complications can include dehydration, ear or sinus infections, and bacterial or viral pneumonia, which can fill the air sacs in the lungs with pus or fluid, making it difficult to breathe and depriving older patients of adequate oxygen. In some cases, pneumonia may be asymptomatic, but it is still contagious if it results from a bacterial or viral infection.
Avatar m tn Mercola, his article is citing a sscientific study showing pigs have widespread inflammation due to their diets high in GMO foods. The article does not mention thyroid but made me think of the sourcing of the medicaitons..
1205142 tn?1265689562 Hello I have a 7 year old whom since he was 2 weeks old was diagnosed with asthma and reflux he has been in and out of dr office alot has had pneumonia 4 times since winter of 09 till now we are currently trying to get into national jewish to get help but for now what can we do?
Avatar n tn If it felt like rice crispies were popping in your lungs, then it's most likely pneumonia. That symptom can come and go, it doesn't have to be constant. Rattling in the lungs when you're sick isn't a good sign, even if it's not pneumonia, and you need to see your doctor very soon or go to urgent care, especially if you get a fever.
Avatar f tn i have been showing signs of pneumonia lately and also felt a small bum under my armpit but cannot see anything. what i want to know is can the axillary lymph node be linked to pneumonia because usually i hear it swells in the neck? i also was using doxycycline 100 mg and septra for chlamydia. its kinda strange how pneumonia just popped up a while after my chlamydia and cleared up. i am really freaking out im going for a test today.
Avatar n tn lol if you dont have thoese symptoms it could be pneumonia.. if the mucus is orange or green and you have not yet gone to the doctor i would go.. if its yellow or light green its viral and they cant do anything take advil and try and sleep..
