Common Questions and Answers about Pneumonia symptoms fatigue

pneumonia

Avatar f tn Roughly a week later, started feeling the tightness in my chest again, along with a feeling of heat generating from my core, low fever and incredible fatigue. The chest x-ray showed the pneumonia had returned or never left (?). Again I was given an antibiotic shot and this time, Levaquin and Sulfamethoxazole. I have been on this for 3 days now. The fatigue and fever are still there, the tightness in my chest is gone. I am otherwise, a healthy 46 year old female.
Avatar f tn I'm 21 years old. I've been sick for about 6 weeks now. My symptoms are extreme fatigue, weight loss (about 12 pounds), difficulty breathing, and bruising very easily. I just checked out of the hospital yesterday, where I was admitted for pneumonia and a high WBC count. When I checked out, I was told my WBC is still too high, and that I'll need to get it checked soon.
Avatar f tn A1C normal as well. my symptoms have become more progressive over last 6 months. i had pneumonia in 2009 with radiologists declaring after several cts, bone scans that i possibly had metastatic cancer or possibly "myelo -something leukemia". after 9 months of testing nothing showed up. i continue to be followed every 6 months by oncology. could this possibly be some form of leukemia. i feel something is off.
Avatar f tn Are there other co-morbid medical conditions present? Pneumonia usually responds well to antibiotics. If the symptoms persist despite the prescribed medications, a repeat chest x-ray or imaging studies may help determine if the infection is still present. Other considerations to be ruled out include allergic issues as well. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I think that's what I may have, did you have a pain in your lower spine?? I posted a question that lists all the symptoms I'm having and they all "seem" to fit, especially the FATIGUE part...which I cant have beeing I have three 'lil ones that keep me very busy!!
Avatar f tn Was on a 3-day course of Bactrim for a UTI with all my usual symptoms (burning, pressure, nausea, fatigue, malaise). I took my last dose on Saturday night. Though I thought I had a return of urinary symptoms (burning) on Sunday night, by Monday everything had resolved. Today I started getting a sore back though it is unclear to me whether it is muscular. It is almost reminiscent of the onset of a case of pneumonia I had 5 years ago.
Avatar f tn I’ve been diagnosed with lobar pneumonia and was put on antibiotics. It’s been two days (5 doses of antibiotics, so far) and nothing has changed! There is still no congestion, no coughing (I’ve even had 5 doses of Musinex)...just fatigue and shortness of breath. The pain is on and off....I feel crazy!!! HELP?!? (No, I’ve not been sick...my Mom was treated for the flu, but I only had contact with her after she had begun her medication...

Avatar f tn I had texted with my physician and after being sick for 11 days, he had put me on mild Antibiotics Azithromycin 250mg for 5 days (first day 500mg) saying I probably have walking pneumonia. I had Mycoplasma walking pneumonia 2x before in 2009 already. It slowly improved after taking it and I'm better, but still not healthy and feel it is getting worse again. Every inbreath I feel a cold tickling in the mid chest area and feel I need to suppress a dry cough.
Avatar f tn Several months ago, my pain and fatigue got worse. I started having pain in my side. I would have severe itching and pain when I got hot that only lasted minutes. I have had a mild fever, generally 99.5 to 100.3. I have had bronchitis 3 times, pneumonia once, and a sinus infection once...in the past 3 months. I feel confused alot. My blood test show highly elevated white blood cells. First it was my lymphocytes, then it was my neutraphils, then it was my lymphocytes.
Avatar f tn These past two day I have experienced heavy chest pains, shortness of breathe, fatigue, and lots of coughing/ coughing up yellow mucus. I have had bronchiactesis since I was 6. I also have had 99.2 F fever, today. should I see a doctor to know what it is or will it just go away in time?
670314 tn?1247875773 What do I need to look out for (with myself?). As I already experience SOB with minimal exertion, fatigue, frequent nausea and other common symptoms with this condition, (and a dry cough from my meds), I am worried that I might miss something and this new virus take hold before I recognise it for what it is. I am guessing to get help if I develop a fever - but anything else that anyone knows of?
Avatar n tn This is my last post regarding hiv because I will see a doc but I would like you to understand my symptoms I am having on june 24 I had protected sex with a gay guy during this experience he gave oral unprotected...did not check condem after for breakage but 4 to 5 days after I caught a fever. Avatar f tn I had a CT scan of my head, and was still told it was just a severe sinus infection. My symptoms have become even worse developing chronic fatique, sore throat and ears, and severe back pain. I spent three days in and out of the hospital because my throat was beginning to swell almost completely shut.
Avatar f tn It started off with a sinus flu type sickness which eventually turned respiratory. About 3 weeks after symptoms began, I finally went to the doctor and was treated with a Z-pack for pneumonia. I completed the 5 days of medication and my flu like symptoms had resolved. However, I continue to have terrible chest and rib pain. It is on the left side and center of my chest. It feels incredibly heavy, as if someone is sitting on my chest.
Avatar n tn Female age 50 ... I was being treated for pneumonia with 10 days of levaquin and lodrain 24 D. On the fifth day I started having moderate and continual pain between my sholder blades in the upper back and heartburn (no heartburn for 25 years previously) and extreme fatigue. I thought it was the pneumonia and didn't go to the doctor for five days. My blood test then showed troponin was high, doctor said I may have had a heart attack. Doctor wanted a stress test ... which showed normal.

Avatar m tn I am a 34 year old male who has been experienced strange evolving symptoms for the last two years. This started with frequent respiratory infections then pneumonia ( which was first thought to be lung cancer, turned out to be a granuloma), then two shingles outbreaks, and four oral thrush infections, all within a year, specifically last year. This year has been all neurological symptoms. It started with a buzzing feeling in my feet intermittently.
Avatar f tn Did the doctor confirm using an xray you don't have pneumonia? Do you have a cough? There is something called pleurisy which can hurt your lungs when you breathe, but both pneumonia and pleurisy are accompanied by a cough. Behind your lungs are your kidneys, is it possible that when you breathe your lungs are hurting your kidneys? Therefore it would feel like your lungs hurting but it's not. Just an idea if the doc is ruling out lung problems.
Avatar n tn Almost everything I come across regarding pneumonia discusses high fever, cold/flu like symptoms, and being able to hear it with a stethoscope. In my case, I had fatigue, presumably pleuritic chest pain, and shortness of breath. That seems to be about it. I am not sure if any of the other symptoms (i.e., GI issues, dehydration, and misdiagnosed hernia) are related--which is why I went into so much detail.
Avatar f tn However your symptoms can be due to fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome. These can also be symptoms of complicated migraine. I would suggest you to consult an experienced neurologist about it as soon as possible. Take care!
Avatar m tn The other possibility is chronic fatigue syndrome or post viral fatigue syndrome that occurs after an illness. This can be treated patiently with exercise, good diet, work out plans and multivitamins. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables and proteins should be taken along with a multi vitamin supplement. Eat 5-7 small regular meals every day. Drink plenty of water. Do deep breathing exercises. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Why you had had pneumonia is not something we can answer without your medical history. Besides this community is to discuss hepatitis C and all ramifications. Pneumonia is an infection of the lung. Sepsis is a severe illness in which the bloodstream is overwhelmed by bacteria. Sepsis can be caused by an infection of the lungs. (bacterial pneumonia). Only your doctor who treated you can say what happened.
