Avatar f tn Went back after 2 weeks and the dr said the bladder infection was gone, but I had to keep on with the Levaquin as I was showing signs of pneumonia and he took another blood test. On the 3rd week of Levaquin, the dr called and said I was highly allergic to Levaquin and get to his office immediately. He gave me a new antibiotic shot and within an hour I was very ill. The next morning I woke up with a fever, unable to breathe and move my left side.
Avatar m tn I have had coronary heart disease now for 7 years. A stroke in 2004 left me with left side weakness due from a large blood clot. Then another stroke in 2008 from another blood clot that hit behind the left eye. I had angioplasty in 2003 for a 75% and 90% blockage but no stents. After the first stoke I was put on Coumadin and thin soon thereafter put on only two baby aspirin.
Avatar m tn i have done research and the chest stuff sounds like angina but the other pains sounds like blood clots? i mean is it possible to have multiple blood clots? or is it the same blood clot just moving around? im aware that i probably suffer from poor blood circulation. The last time i went to a doctor was about 5months ago. I went because i started to have constipation problems and i got diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome.
1395422 tn?1308016251 Hello, Tenderness, pain, swelling, cramps, warmth, discoloration, redness and inflammation are some symptoms of having a blood clot in the calf. More serious symptoms include infection or death of leg muscle tissue, pulmonary embolism, heart attack and even stroke which are caused by movement of blood clot from calf to elsewhere in the body. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn t know really about blood clots... only that there is medication out there that is suppose to get rid of them. I have a question though... how did they find out she had a blood clot in her head? I have been dealing with the same type of pain....

Avatar f tn After two weeks of this persisting, fever started developing, symptoms were worse, I went back and begged to be checked for pneumonia. That was negative. Was told to wait it out and continue taking my antihistamines. Got referred to an allergist/immunologist. He said I could possibly have an autoimmune disorder and would test me for lupus, thyroid disorders, etc but he needed to further review my complete medical history and come back in two weeks.
Avatar n tn I would also think a blood clot, that have a test they can run called a D-dimmer to test for blood clots, and i would also recommend that your monitor your blood pressure when changing positions (orthostatic Blood pressures) because if there is a sudden drop in your BP then your physician will need to follow up on that. To help with the dizziness when changing positions you should make sure that you take your time, take some deep breaths and rise slowly.
Avatar f tn Recently I spent 3 weeks in the hospital with pneumonia. While there, I was given blood thinners to avoid blot clots. A few days before I left the hospital, my feet and lower legs started swelling, particularly the right one. By the time I was ready to be released from the hospital, the swelling had gone down substantially. After a few days at home, the swelling began again and I was sent back to the emergency room to have a doppler ultrasound.
Avatar f tn Pain from clots can last weeks to months but pain still present 7 months out from the blood clots in your leg(s) raises the question of whether you might still be having recurrent clots to your lungs. While we assume that the pain is from blood clots, there are many other causes of pleurisy that may or may not be related to clots. The first question that must be answered is what took place in your body that cause clots to be formed in your legs, in the first place?
Avatar f tn I have a deep terrible cough. I have had to pulmonary embolisms and blood clots in both lungs, pneumonia, pleurisy and very hoarse. I have had lots of blood work done and the hemotologist diagnosed me with a blood clotting disorder and will have to be on coumadin for the rest of my life. I am 43 and in June this year passed out at home briefly and was having severe chest pain.
Avatar n tn You may also have bronchitis or pneumonia if you had a cough and sore throat. Blood clots can also be a possibiltiy though less usual. On the other hand, you may have something as simple as a pulled muscle from coughing. If you are not any better, get thyself to a doctor!
Avatar f tn I am scared. I have had 2 pulmonary embolisms, blood clots in both lungs, pleurasy, pneumonia, and a partially collapsed lung. Yesterday I had a horrible pain on the right side in the upper rib area where the lower part of my lung is. My rib are and back is swollen out. The pain was so intense that it doubled me over amd I could not hardly breathe. Well today it is very sore in that area, I am also having pain when I breathe...it frustrates me when I call my dr and he sayes go to the er....
752814 tn?1261181685 s just statred taking anti-inflammtory medicine and just stopped taking pain killers. Plz tell me what the symptoms of blood clots are and plz tell me if she has it.
769503 tn?1238496321 s beyond repair, your husband will be looking at having an artificial one. Symptoms will vary on the amount of exercise you do, and the type of exercise. As blood is pumped out of the main left heart chamber to give freshly oxygenated blood to all of the body, some is obviously leaking back into the heart making it less efficient. Worried? well any heart condition is a worry but let me put this into perspective.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms? I just read about a lady dying cause of having a blood clot travel to her lungs!
Avatar n tn Last month I think it last 10 days/heavy, heavy bleeding. This month it has been 6 days so far with heavy bleeding and many blood clots (first 3 days light and last 3 days heavy bleeding with clots).
324184 tn?1308076203 Well 7am the next morning I recieved a call from the hospital and they told me that i had to come back to the hospital and be admitted that i had 2 blood clots in my lungs. I was admitted for a week. some time if you know there is some thing not right then keep going because it could be some thing that can kill you. they said that i was lunky!!
Avatar f tn I feel confused alot. My blood test show highly elevated white blood cells. First it was my lymphocytes, then it was my neutraphils, then it was my lymphocytes. Then my WBC dropped to a normal level, but my neutrophils were really low. The doc says she thinks its an autoimmune disease, a blood production disease or cancer. She kind of hasn't done much for me and wants me to 'wait'. I know there is something terribly wrong and I just found out im pregnant.
Avatar f tn I got my period this morning and i noticed that i have a lot of really big blood clots. The first few were just on my tampon when i took it out but then i had several large ones that when i took my tampon out the fell into the toilet. Ive never had this before. My medical history that has to do with my mentrual cycle is i have a history of ovarian cysts. None of them have been severe but have been painful to the point where they have landed me in the hospital.
Avatar f tn So once the got the blood work back they came running with a nitroglycerin needle put in my belly and 3 sprays of something under my tongue, gave me something to help clear blood clots. They said my troponin I levels was 4.87 and that I either just had a heart attack, was having one now or about to. During all this my ecg never changed. They sent me for a CT scan with dye injected into blood, then a heart CT scan, then a eccocardiogram and all showed no heart damage or problems.
Avatar f tn I've been having the same symptoms on anf off for over a year and i'm still here so i'd say you most likely don't have blood clots. You say it's happening in both legs, so that would more or less rule clots out as it would be a coincidence to suddenly have them in both legs i would think. painful, aching legs seems to be quite a common anxiety from the posts i read on various forums. I'm glad i get pains in my legss than pains in my chest like some do.
1309556 tn?1274282092 The main concern is rule out life threatening conditions like heart attack, blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) and tear in the main artery (aortic dissection). Besides a detailed history and physical examination, following are the usual investigations done to find out the cause of chest pain: 1. Electrocardiogram 2. Chest X-ray 3. Blood tests to look for infections, inflammation, blood clots and certain enzymes found in heart muscle. 4. Sputum examination to look for infections. 5.
Avatar f tn Yes “walking pneumonia” is contagious. The development of more symptoms, in the face of antibiotic therapy, is worrisome as is the “side pain” which I assume to be pleurisy and suggests that this infection may fall into the category of complicated pneumonia. In this circumstance you should definitely request careful reevaluation by your doctor or his designate to include at a minimum a repeat chest X-ray, a complete blood count and culture of your sputum.
