Avatar m tn We are, due to weakness and slow recovery from last episode of pneumonia, planning jejunostomy next week. Perhaps looking at fundoplication at a later date if needed.
Avatar f tn I had the same situation before but just a pneumonia bilateral not covid pneumonia. Are you feeling fine now? Based on my research on pneumonia, the person having it usually recovers for about 6 months. That is totally normal coz you're still on process of healing your lungs and our body is recovering from the illness due to pneumonia. Until now I am having the urge of taking deep breaths and still working on it until my breathing is normal.
Avatar m tn I believe I have been low for at least 2 years as my first symptom of rib tenderness or weakness occurred ~ 2 years before Jan 2014. By Dec 2013, I was having muscle weakness in arms, legs, back and rib areas. I also had severe fatigue, dizziness, and muscle twitching. Like many poster's comments, I experienced "felt like my body was dying", "had difficulty getting out of chair" and "had difficulty climbing stairs".

Avatar f tn Week 1-sore throat, fatigue, weakness, couldn’t get out of bed, chest tightness, slight cough. Went to doctor and was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and was given doxycycline and steroids. Week 2-got so weak I ended up in the ER. They said it’s just part of the illness and to keep up with antibiotics. On week 2.5 I began vomiting but only a couple times.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am 31 years old, & I smoked for 17 years, and i quit cold turkey yesterday. I was told Friday I have chronic pneumonia & chronic bronchitis. Today I had a hard time, and so I put a patch on. I am sick to my stomach, I am having a very hard time taking a deep breath still, and I am shaky, and feel horrible. I am on strong anti-biotics for the pneumonia and steroids for the inflamation.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms can be caused by a number of things besides your heart such as thyroid issues or even a virus that has you worn down. Another possibility would be walking pneumonia or another type of infection. I think you need to let your doctor know that you continue to have these symptoms he/she can help you get to the bottom of this. Good luck.
Avatar n tn In general, the sooner a person can safely get up and moving around, the better--Helps maintain strength, prevent pneumonia, helps get the bowels moving regularly, improves circulation, etc. Good luck!
Avatar n tn My Dr asked me to get another chest X-RAY done after a month to make sure Pneumonia is gone completely. I found on internet recovery of Pneumonia can takes 30 – 90days. I am still not sure that all my problem are because of Pneumonia or acid reflux or something else..... If I will find anything helpful for you (or me) I will defiantly post it.

1070610 tn?1279274410 I am starting hydrotherapy tomorrow with the physio . She is still concerned about leg weakness and now the right leg is showing signs of weakness. I was doing stretching and gentle strengthening exercises through the relapse so I guess they are not as weak as they could have been. I havent been to the neuro. I left a message for him to let him know I was relapsing and did he want to see me?? No reply......so I just carried on as you do and coped with it.
Avatar n tn To determine if pneumonia is still present, direct clinical examination is important together with diagnostic tests. Pneumonia caused by a virus infection usually resolve after couple of days and recovery may also be affected by various factors including the medical history of the patient. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn CBC labs have showed high lymphocytes for the past 4 years, but most recent CBC showed high lymphocytes, as well as high neutrophils, high platelet count, AND elevated monocytes. Frequent infections like pneumonia (3x) and shingles 2x in 11 months. Extremely debilitating fatigue, tightness and pain in chest, worsening weakness in arms/hands/legs/feet, frequent kidney stones, and tachycardia.
Avatar f tn A few months ago, my mother was diagnosed with pneumonia. After a round of antibiotics and breathing treatments, she was pronounced well. Since being cured of the pneumonia, she developed diverticultis. This was quite a surprise. Mom is very healthy -- she is 70 and takes care of everyone else. She is very diligent about eating yogurt and taking her probiotics, often scolding others to do the same, especially while on antibiotics.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, I am a 36 year old asthmatic woman and I take 250 seretide evohaler 2 puffs twice daily. I got pneumonia 2 months ago (end of August) and I still feel tired, no energy. Do you think I would be strong enough for the swine flu (H1N1) vaccine, or should I wait until I have made a full recovery? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Will a patient see significant improvement on their PFT test after taking medication for a period of time. This was my orginal PFT test three weeks after having pneumonia and the second set of tests were performed two months afterwards. Do most people with COPD see this much of an improvement on their later PFT results or is there a possibility that maybe what I have is more asthma seen COPD? These were the results of my first test FVC ref 3.51 pre 2.74 78% post 3.

1733547 tn?1310332865 I am looking for ANY advise on helping my heart recover from congestive heart failure. It was brought on by a severe infection (believed to be a pneumonia infection). I was put into an induced coma for 9 days while the infection ran it's course and I'm thankful to God for bringing me back to life (my wife was told more than once to prepare for my leaving this world). My recovery has been miraculous - I broke every time line laid before me.
Avatar n tn He spent 10 days in the hospital and then went to a rehab facility. After 5 days he was sent back to the hospital with pneumonia. The doctor who admitted him to the hospital told me that his prognosis was very poor - she mentioned death and advised me to consult with the palliative care nurse. I am certainly not ready to give up on him yet! The pneumonia seems to already be clearing up, though I'm sure he will need to spend several days in the hospital.
Avatar m tn Has anyone been though treatment for Hepatitis C over the past few years and come to find they are more prone to picking up infections ? She has had her white blood count tested - Result Fine ! She has had her Immune System tested - Result Fine ! Adrenal Glands tested - Result Fine ! So nothing makes sense as she was never in this position prior to chemotherapy but each time you go to the doctor for tests on white blood cells everything is fine, which does not make sense.
Avatar n tn I have been having health problems for a few years with no explanation. I have never smoked. I have been being treated for pneumonia for 3 months. The treatment is not working. The doctor has told me that event though he sees some changes in the area where the pneumonia is, that there is a white spot on my right lung that has appeared in all my xrays. He asked if I was sick before the pneumonia diagnosis and the answer is yes.

Avatar m tn My husband has been ill with severe/fulminant micoplasma pneumonia for over 3 months now. He also suffered the complication of a pneumothorax which resulted in 2 aspirations and finally a CT guided drain was inserted. He had numerous courses of antibiotics but it took such a long time to clear. Although he has been very poorly I now feel he is delaying his recovery through obsessive deep breathing, negativity and anxiety.
Avatar f tn t imagine those symptoms being directly the result of the pneumonia. I can envision that the pneumonia and related stress affected your thyroid levels and caused the symptoms you mentioned. What is your thyroid med type and daily dosage? Also, please post your thyroid related test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report. Just because your Free T4 was somewhere within the "normal" range does not mean it is adequate. The range is far too broad.
