pneumonia

Avatar f tn re still on process of healing your lungs and our body is recovering from the illness due to pneumonia. Until now I am having the urge of taking deep breaths and still working on it until my breathing is normal. Just be patient on your body, always take a rest and take whatever medicine your doctor prescribed to you and you'll recover as soon as possible, same as your breathing. Stay healthy!!!
Avatar m tn It can take a couple of months to recover from pneumonia or any other bad lung infection. Your lungs are healing themselves after the invasion of the bugs who made a mess, so be patient. I know it's hard as I have been there myself. As long as you don't get another fever and start coughing up Green Mucous, you are on your way to recovery.
467579 tn?1289402969 Given that I would say that it could take a long time to fully recover from the flu. Maybe even 3 months or more would be my guess. I have had pneumonia in the past and that took a long, long time befor I full recovered. I would advise you to ask your Doctor about this. It would not surprise me if he/she said something similar to what I have written. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I have asthma and 4 years ago I had pneumonia year after year. Than I started getting the pneumonia vaccine. I had no side effects from it expect no pneumonia.
Avatar n tn To determine if pneumonia is still present, direct clinical examination is important together with diagnostic tests. Pneumonia caused by a virus infection usually resolve after couple of days and recovery may also be affected by various factors including the medical history of the patient. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn Yes, your son could have a pneumonia. IF you are not content with what your physician has recommended go to the ER. Pneumonia can be viral or bacteria. If it is viral then the antibiotic will not do anything for the virus. However, having a fever this high and long deserves more investigation like blood cultures or sputum sample. I would continue to call family doctor or go to ER. Good luck. Thank you for your question.
178345 tn?1242536246 he said that it takes a good 6-8 weeks to get over the tiredness alone from the pnemonia. He also said that from the 3 surgeries it takes a good year to even get back to yourself..so at least that is some positive news..i will keep you posted and again thank you all for your good wishes and advise :) wishing you all well!
Avatar n tn Will a patient see significant improvement on their PFT test after taking medication for a period of time. This was my orginal PFT test three weeks after having pneumonia and the second set of tests were performed two months afterwards. Do most people with COPD see this much of an improvement on their later PFT results or is there a possibility that maybe what I have is more asthma seen COPD? These were the results of my first test FVC ref 3.51 pre 2.74 78% post 3.
Avatar m tn A year later, with complete recovery from a serious episode of pneumonia, you should be feeling back to normal. One possibility, albeit a bit unlikely, is that your pneumonia never completely resolved. Another, is that you have an as yet undiagnosed underlying condition that predisposed you to the pneumonia and is also responsible for your having days when you feel “weak, tired and generally ill.
1733547 tn?1310332865 I am looking for ANY advise on helping my heart recover from congestive heart failure. It was brought on by a severe infection (believed to be a pneumonia infection). I was put into an induced coma for 9 days while the infection ran it's course and I'm thankful to God for bringing me back to life (my wife was told more than once to prepare for my leaving this world). My recovery has been miraculous - I broke every time line laid before me.
Avatar m tn can you get Pneumocystis jiroveci Pneumonia from from kissing a hiv postive person? she been having coughs some but nothing else she said.i know you cant get from french kissing but worried about Pneumocystis jiroveci Pneumonia. i went to the doctor last week and they said i had pneumonia they put in the hospital for 4 days on antibotics. i got out and two later i went back and they gave me different antibotics and still feeling a little bad.
Avatar n tn Bacterial or viral lung infection can precipitate asthma with wheezing in a person genetically predisposed to asthma. Treatment of the presumed asthma, aside from treatment of the infectious pneumonia, is appropriate. So, this could be asthma, superimposed on pneumonia. Your son could have whooping cough, despite immunization against it. If his fever and sweating with clammy skin has subsided, it is probably a sign that the antibiotic therapy has been effective and the pneumonia is clearing.
Avatar n tn He spent 10 days in the hospital and then went to a rehab facility. After 5 days he was sent back to the hospital with pneumonia. The doctor who admitted him to the hospital told me that his prognosis was very poor - she mentioned death and advised me to consult with the palliative care nurse. I am certainly not ready to give up on him yet! The pneumonia seems to already be clearing up, though I'm sure he will need to spend several days in the hospital.
Avatar n tn What you are experiencing is consistent with normal recovery. It may take a month or more for you to feel completely recovered. It is terrific that the repeat x-ray showed much improvement but you should have another x-ray in a month or so to confirm complete resolution of the pneumonia, especially if you are a cigarette smoker.
Avatar n tn It was repaired two days later. She suffered aspiration pneumonia and a UTI fungal infection in the hospital. She was finally transferred to a rehabiliation center after being in the hospital for 4 weeks. In the rehab center, they told us she now has MRSA pneumonia. What are her chances of overcoming all of this? She is on a trach and at times seems very coherent. How much longer do we let her endure all of this? She never says she's in pain or uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn We are, due to weakness and slow recovery from last episode of pneumonia, planning jejunostomy next week. Perhaps looking at fundoplication at a later date if needed.
Avatar m tn she listened from the middle of my back then listened to my left lung and said I had very minimal wheezing and that the pneumonia was gone and that I was in the recovery stage that involves coughing up the mucus and my body absorbing the mucus in my lungs. I never had a chest X-ray so I can't say for sure that the pneumonia was in my right lung BUT the painful spot that the previous doc identified that made him concerned was on the right and this doctor only listened to my left lung.
5941382 tn?1377132724 my mother was admitted in the hospital yesterday.she has pneumonia bilateral, moderate cardiomegaly, impression, bilateral fibrous densities. is she has a chance to cure?
620048 tn?1358018235 Sorry to hear that you aren't improving very quickly from your aspiration pneumonia. Do you have COPD or some other chronic lung condition as well? Just wondering if that was making things slower to improve. I do hope you start feeling better soon.
1232362 tn?1333135406 My cats have upper respiratory infections (being spread amongst themselves by violent sneezing despite my best efforts) and I'm wondering if I can pick this up from them. I have asthma and am prone to these infections myself and have had both walking and regular pneumonia a few times. I'm taking all the regular precautions: washing my hands, etc.
Avatar f tn Got a text from her that they were trying to send her home today. Pneumonia is clearing and she is eating a bit. No cancer!!!
